Worst Experience I had at a Courtyard
SorryTraveler Nov 9, 2009
This was one of my worst experiences staying at a Courtyard. While the hotel documentation states that the shuttle will take ... to you locations within Crystal City, it really depends on who is at the front desk. The shuttle dropped me off at a location then refused to pick me up. On another occassion, I was left standing in the dark for 30 mins waiting for the shuttle to arrive. As a result, I have decided never to stay at another Courtyard and to cancel my membership as a Rewards member

Marriot Arlington Crystal City

My friend and I travelled to DC to run the Marine Corps Marathon. We stayed for two nights and needed a late check-out ... because the race was on the morning we were leaving. The people working the desk were very accomodating and helpful. The location was perfect for the Marine Corps Marathon Shuttle. The room was a good size and clean. The hotel had a great gym. While it was a few miles from the monuments, it was close to a Metro station. Several restaurants were within walking distance.

CVS, 7-11, and McDonalds were all a short walk. The Shops of Crystal City were next to the Metro which includes a Dunkin Donuts and many other stores.

There is a Sports Pub on 23rd street that is perfect for the individual(s) who are looking to watch sporting events, have dinner, and relax from a long day of sight seeing. Also, there is an italian pizzeria two restaurants down from Crystal City Sports Pub that is really good.

Great room, a little too far from Metro
Conference attender Sep 23, 2009
I attended a conference in D.C. that started around 9 am daily and ended around 11 pm. There was no shuttle service when I ... needed it in the morning or night. It is about 6-7 blocks to the Metro. Taxi ride to D.C. was about $13. I felt safe while walking but it just added footsteps to my commute. The room was super and the front desk was helpful with taxi service.

Front Desk Lady was very nice, professional and helpful. She indentified a place for meals and assited with my cell phone ... charge while I went for food. She let me take the charger to my room overnight for additional charge. That was very nice of her to assist me. You know how difficult it is when your cell phone is not working while traveling!~

DC Marriot
Cassio Jul 22, 2007
Nice room and site. However, when visiting DC someone should warn you that there are 3 different Marriots in the ... neighborhood, this being the farthest from the Metro (though they have a shuttle to take you and pick you up). Room was neat, clean and comfortable and the staff was cordial. I returned to the hotel a week later and they were very patient in taking care of a tired customer and 1 AM who had to leave at 4:30 AM.

Chile's is the place to go, though it was busy. I was by myself, so I could sit in the bar area. DC is still behind the times and allows smoking in the bar area, but it was ok.
