Well worth the trip off the beaten path.
Abby's Mom Oct 12, 2009
Stayed at this hotel to visit San Francisco, because we didn't want to stay in the city. For the price that we paid, it was ... well worth it. Was a little disappointed with the view; because of the fact that we got the tops of the buildings, but the view from either side of the buildings were breath taking. To wake up to the sound of waves crashing was awesome. The rooms were very spacious and the fireplace(s) in the room was a very nice touch. The room was very clean and it was all in all was worth the trip from San Fran and the price.

The restruant that is attached to the hotel was way too overpriced for our taste, so eat in the city if all possible.

Great hotel
Elizabeth Sep 16, 2009
The stay was very smooth and the room was comfortable and very clean. The view was fantastic, and we had no interruptions ... from noise/staff/etc. There was a very fresh looking pool and hot tub, and while we did not use them, it was great to have the option. We had a 2 week trip around SF, and this was the one of the best hotels (if not the best) we stayed at while traveling.

Really nice ocean front hotel!
Mary Aug 3, 2009
We decided to pick a hotel by the ocean while sightseeing in San Francisco. We ended up enjoying the hotel and ocean more ... than SF. The Portofino restaurant has wonderful food, best coffee in area, and great staff! The people at the front desk are very helpful and friendly. We had a great time. We did drive to Muir Woods and Monteray Bay Aquarium which is beautiful.

The Best Western,Pacifica had a great view in some rooms, and none at others. I know this because we were moved from a nice ... waterview room,to a room with a view of the balcony. The staff was wonderful, but I have a hard time believing that they did not know that the room upstairs leaked into ours,or that the toilet in our room did not work,it only took an hour to move from room to room(by ourselves).

View isn't worth a thousand words
Angela Aug 3, 2008
The big draw was supposed to be the view- but we saw the restaurant/hotel roof and their fake lighthouse blocked the main ... part of the view. There's a noisy bar right next door. Our room was non-smoking, but the room below us with a big balcony wasn't so the smoke came right up into our room. The room wasn't ready at check-in time so we waited in the hall. There is only one entrance on each floor which is a pain when your room is the very last room at the far end of the hallway. The elevator is a very slow, small elevator and most of the cleaning staff were using it up with carts all day. The room service was lacking too- they brought us the wrong items and were slow. This hotel just wasn't at all what we expected for the price/location. We were very disappointed & wouldn't stay here again.

The Best Western Lighthouse was comfortable. With three people traveling together the room was very tight and not enough ... seating in the room nor on the patio. We were given a room that was meant for a handicapped person. The room was nicely renovated but it had debri under the bed and on the floor. The walls should be wiped down to remove the spots off the walls. You definitely needed a car in this area it was very remote from other things. The restuarant was expensive for lunch and dinner. The fruit amentities were a welcome in the lobby. The hotel should renovate the outside to match the inside. In the common areas the windows were dirty.

Excellent Retreat
Sandra Aug 11, 2007
The peace, quiet and calm of the area makes staying in this hotel well worth the money. Walking trails are at your immediate ... access as well. There are several options of good food, right outside your door. There are no traffic or crowd sounds. You can see and hear the ocean at all times of the day and night. There is a fitness center and pool area.

The ocean view room was great, with excellent +view facing the ocean and the beach. The room was quite big and was ... comfortable. Parking was convenient, just a short distance from the elevator. My only complaint was the front desk seemed to be lack of workers.

Hotel is right on the beach you can walk down a flight of stairs from your hotel room and right out onto the beach. Beds ... were very comfortable lots and lots of pillows! Had an ocean view. If you want to check out the surrounding shops and restaurants do so before 6:00pm everything closed early. Would like to go back and spend more time. We were there for a soccer tournament so not a lot of time at the hotel.

Family friendly & Super Staff
Trisha Jul 22, 2007
What makes or breaks a hotel is not it's name but the people/staff that represent that name. Yes the room was comfortable. ... It overlooked the pool, my 10 yr old son loved it. The location was perfect. But EVERYONE, front desk to maintainance, was polite, helpful, friendly, and totally accommodating. Our stay at The Best Western Lighthouse came at the end of a very busy week in San Francisco & my Aunt's 90th birthday party. When we arrived at the hotel, we were ready to crash. Your staff treated my son & I royally. Smiles, polite, accommodating, and helpful. A perfect end to a perfect week.

Hotel was okay, average but on the beach and close to area attractions. 20 -30 minutes to San Fran., about 2 hrs. to Nappa ... Valley and 3 hrs. to Monterey. Right on highway 1 with senic drives and surfers to watch on the Pacifica public beaches. Room was pretty average size.

Our stay at the best Western Pacifica was very pleasant and comfortable. The room offered all amenities, was very clean and ... the bed was huge and cosy. We had a room withocean peak view but actually overlooked the whole ocean and heard the waves all night long, which is extremely relaxing. Staff was friendly and helpful and even allowed us a later check out. We will definately come back.
