The contemporary menu presents a modern take on Italian cuisine, with dishes such as Black Olive Tagliatelle with Duck Bolognese and Australian Beef "en Brodo" with Taleggio Raviolini. Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff!
Shar Nov 2, 2009
The man that greeted us at the front desk was a witty fellow that gave us a laugh as soon as we arrived. The hotel lobby was ... spotless and lovely. Even all the elevators and hallways smelled as though they were freshly cleaned. When entering the hotel room, which was perfect and again, spotless, they had the radio on to greet us playing classical music and opera. Very nice touch! We were in the city to see the opera Turandot so this really helped to set the mood as we got ready. All of the staff were perfectly friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and stay here again ourselves! Hands down fantastic hotel stay.

There are many great restaurants in New York but the best deal was right next door to our hotel. Not only was it convenient but the food was fabulous and probably the "best deal" in town. Staff were friendly and made us feel right at home in a big city. Highly recommend Ruth's Chris Steak House.

We particularly appreciated the helpfulness of the staff at the desk, [...], and the Concierge, [...]. They both steered us ... in the right direction for things to do and places to eat. We had a limited amount of time as we were traveling abroad the next day and we arrived on a Sunday afternoon too late to catch a matinee. So we wanted to cram as much as we could into the time we had and they both helped.

Great hotel and amazing value too - rare
Allie Sep 30, 2009
Staff were so friendly & we checked in early, which started us off with an unexpected surprise. They upgraded us upon ... request. Rooms were really clean and big. I took my sister to a weekend in NYC for her birthday, so it was important when she first saw the room that I felt like I really was treating her - and the room did not disappoint! We didn't use fitness area or much of the facilities - but in NYC who needs to? A super clean & very well designed room at an amazing value.

A satisfied repeat traveler
Shopper Aug 29, 2009
My previous stay was just for sightseeing, this time I came to attend the New York Gift Fair. The shuttle stop to the Javits ... Centere was half a block away, quite convenient. The location is beyond ideal - the theater district, Times Square, MOMA, etc. all within walking distance. I also chose this hotel because of the smaller size which I feel results in more attentive service than at some of the megasized chains. I actually find it disconcerting that their mattress and pillows are more comfortable than my own at home. It is an oasis of calm and tranquility but within steps of the exciting maelstrom that is NYC. Can't wait for my return visit next year.

"A gem in all ways"
K.R. Aug 21, 2009
As a retirement gift I was given a trip for my husband and me visit New York City to enjoy a Broadway show and an elegant ... dinner at one of the most well know restaurants in the city. We chose the Michelangelo hotel to accompany our gift package and were not disappointed. The hotel was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. It was a welcome haven from the heat and crowds outside but allowed us quick access to everything we wanted to experience during our stay in the city. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet and elegant retreat from the bustle of New York City.

Great Place to Stay
LDK Aug 17, 2009
Traveling to New York is always an adventure. I attended a meeting that is scheduled annually and I always stay at the ... Michaelangelo. Included in the package is a portion of the parking which has continued to cost more every visit. It is a great place to stay and they have added a restaurant that is very nice with great food to match.

This location was superb! Many activities (such as going to the theatre) were within walking distance, and those that weren't ... were easily accessed via multiple subway stations nearby. The lobby was beautiful and the rooms were nicely sized and clean. The bed was very comfortable. I had trouble accessing their wireless for some reason, however, there was a complimentary computer by the Concierge's desk that was available for use. (I could have asked the front desk for help with the WiFi but did not.) The concierge was very approachable. I would certainly stay here again provided I could get another good room rate.

Great Choice!
Dee Jul 26, 2009
I really enjoyed this hotel. It's very attractive and clean. Upon checking in,we were given a two category upgrade which was ... quite unexpected. The hotel staff was efficient and accomodating. We only ate breakfast, which was expensive, at the restaurant but there are many other dining choices in the area. The location of the hotel is perfect! Theatres, restaurants, Times Square and numerous other tourist atttactions are within short walking distance. I had read many positive comments about this hotel and was not at all disappointed. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to others.

When we got to the hotel our room wasn't ready. (It did not have to be ready for another three hours) The hotel staff told ... us to come back in an hour or so and when we did, we were upgraded from a room to a fabulous suite. It was stunning. We were in town to do sightseeing and my companion wanted to spend all of her time in the room, it was that nice. My only quibble with the hotel is in the breakfast offerings. I wish that they offered more than croissants in the morning.
