Trapped by Location...

The hotel wasn't anything too special. Room service came by and kept things fresh and there was access to a nice inhouse ... restaurant, but the location of the hotel is tricky. You cannot walk to a bus location from the hotel. You must either take their shuttle to the city (25 dollars roundtrip) or take a cab to Penn Station to catch the train. The cab service averaged 30-40 dollars roundtrip. We ended up spending way more money on getting back and forth to the hotel. Due to travel costs, it would have served us to stay in Manhattan, instead. It would have cost the same. Otherwise, it's your run of the mill place to sleep.

Good hotel, with nice fitness center, and with microwave and fridge in room. However, they advertised complimentary breakfast ... on the web and at the airport, but none provided. Had Free internet , but not working well in the rooms. Stayed 5 days in hotel. They promise to repair internet router, but still not done by the time I left. Also Daily parking too expensive!.

From airport, take air train to P4. Take the hotel shuttle to the Howard Johnson. To get to the city, take shuttle to P4 or terminal C. Go to terminal C and go downstairs to the ground transportation. Buy a $25 round-trip ticket through Coach USA. It takes you to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.
--BK, Memphis Oct 16, 2009
Always use the shuttle service to get around as the cabs will rip you off.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!
Trond Oct 17, 2009
Checked in to a smoking room, although it was not what i ordered. [...] The bathroom door was broken, so it was impossible ... to get into and use the bath. The room and the bed smelled awful, and the last night of the 4 nights i had booked, i had perhaps a total of 30 minutes sleep because of guests on both sides of my room partied all night long without the hotell staff doing anything about it. Stay away from this hotel, try the holiday inn instead.

Hotel is much further from amenities than stated. We wanted to go to New York city and any form of transportation took nearly ... 1 hour. They offer a shuttle but the hours are not convinient and it is expensive. We went to the Meadowlands to see a football game. At the hotel we were told that you can only get there by taxi. The taxi cost us over 55 dollars and took nealy an hour. While we were there we discouvered that you can get to the game by train which would have cost about 5 dollars each. We were very disapointed with the service (or lack there of)provided by staff at the front desk. When we booked we were also told there was a continental breakfast, no breakfast was ever included and we had to pay for a meal in their restaurant that was very understaffed. The fitness room was also out of order. The hotel was clean and room staff were pleasant and efficient but all in all we would not stay there again nor recommend this hotel.

The hotel was in the middle of nowhere, the rooms smelled bad, I felt uncomfortable getting into the bed. The staff was very ... unfriendly and even foolish, they suggested that I missed my shuttle at 4:00am to the airport although I was standing outside at 3:50am. They also forgot my wakeup call, good thing I used my cell phone as a security alarm.

The location was close to the airport and where we were visiting which was great. Dissappointed to have to pay $15.00 a ... night for parking our rental car. The room rate was a great price until having to add the parking which we did not know before we arrived. I would have booked another hotel in the same area where we have stayed before and is a better hotel. The room was clean and nice.
