We enjoyed staying at the Holiday Inn Express. The only thing I didn't like was the parking fee, it cost $47 a night ... (includes tax) to park. There's really nowhere to park so your really locked into paying this fee. Overall, the hotel was great, the staff were friendly and helpful.

There's a bar at the corner of Beach and Levensworth, named The Parlor. We had a little bit of trouble there because they refused to let a few of our friends in the club. We're not exactly sure why because they kept giving them different excuses. I can only assume why but don't have any proof. I wouldn't recommend this club because you just don't know how selective they're going to be.

GREAT LOCATION, GREAT HOTEL...
Joe Traveler! Nov 12, 2009
Great hotel; great location...but I'm never coming back to San Francisco! Great location...about a block from famed ... Fisherman's Wharf. Easy walking, very convenient and safe. Great hotel for the San Francisco price...friendly staff; very accommodating. Wonderful free breakfast in the morning! In plain language...San Francisco is terrible. The whole Fisherman's Wharf area shuts down--yes, is closed--at 11:00 pm at night. You can't even get a bite to eat or a drink. All those restaurants on the pier...and no food/no drinks beyond 11:00 pm...what! Transportation was stupid, too. Waited endless hours for non-existent trolleys/cable cars/ and bus lines...full of excuses and lame stories. In plain language...what a bozo city. Excessively overpriced hotels and fish at goofey restaurants...grossly unreliable transportation...and weird-looking tourists. Save your money...go somewhere normal!

Most of the San Francisco jackets and other trinkets can be purchased in China Town at more than half price. Take the cable car to China Town, have a great mean and shop for great bargains.

Great location, but our room was on the Beach Street side (3rd floor), where the electric trolly ran right below the window. ... Requested a move, told hotel full. Bath is very small toilet very low to floor. If you don't get down to the continental breakfast by 9AM, forget it most of the food was gone. Moved out a day ahead of time, they would not provide for a transfer or refund for the one day we did not stay.

This was our first trip to San Francisco and we had such a great time we are already talking about what we want to do when we ... return! The hotel was great it was close to the attractions we were interested in seeing. We were able to walk to Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Ghiradelli Square and The Cannery. We took several tours and had a blast. Going on a tour to Alcatraz was the best and we plan to go on the night tour next time we go. Our only complaint was the parking fees at the hotel but they all charge so it's not like were were ripped off!
