We have been to Cancun many times but this is the first time time we have stayed at this resort. I was a bit scared after ... some of the other reviews I have read but it was great. The hotel is within walking distance to the best part of Cancun! We were not constantly "bugged" by timeshare reps. and that is important to us! The food was very fresh, probably the best of the prior hotels that we have stayed at in the past and if you don't like something you can simply ask for a menu and they will make something else for you. The hotel was very clean including the rooms and grounds. I would definitely choose the all-inclusive option again. The only negative thing I can say is that the "hot tub" was not working when we were there and also they are doing major construction on the beach and this would sometimes start as early as 7am with bulldozers constsanlt beeping. This woke us up every morning! Another great part of this trip was check in is at 3pm but we arrived at noon and we were allowed into our room as soon as we arrived. I have found in the past that other hotels make you wait, and you lose a whole day waiting around, not here!.I would definitely stay at this resort again and we are planning another trip there for next year!

we went on a special that offer you a time share. it was sold yo us as a 5 star hotel! it is defiantly NOT a five star. there ... is only one small restaurant, with a diner style buffet. May 3 deserts offered and a very small salad bar. at the most there are 5 different things on the buffet. not good at all! there is no food or drinks after 11 pm. not their faut but there is no beach at all in front of the hotel. we went on an all inclusive that was supposed to include everything, however with everything they tell you NO, then you have to go get your paper and say YES this is included. then they say FINE ! and give it to you, or they say they don΄t have the key etc. the power kept going off in our room. but the room initially was clean, then only the bed made during the week we were there. NOT a good hotel at all!

When I chose this hotel I checked online to make sure it had a gym suitable for my needs which it appeared to have, but when ... I arrived I was informed that if I am not a Vacation Club member I have to pay an extra $10 per day to use the gym. Also, their happy hour food in the bar had a sign in front of the food that said "for vacation club members only." This tiered system made me feel unimportant and basically misled. I would not stay at this hotel ever again because I wasn't made to feel important. Finally, they put us in a room with a king size bed and we needed two doubles. My friend slept in a rollaway.

Perfect vacation!! No better location!!
Summer 22 yr old RN Jan 6, 2010
The hotel was great! The perfect location, right next to the best nightclubs, a block from a bus stop, great white sand beach ... front area, excellent shopping (both open-air flea market vendors, and luxury shopping), and excellent restaurants. The food in the hotel was great, huge variety, fresh, and cooked to order. The service was excellent, the waiters, the front desk staff, the maids, and there was a guy who worked outside by the pool that coordinated tickets to nightclubs who was very helpful. If I had to find something to nit-pick about the hotel it was that the older tower of rooms that we stayed in need some updating and maintenance. The was no alarm clock in there, but the staff was happy to give us a wake-up call, the in-room safe didn't work, and some of the lamp shades were rusting. Otherwise, everything was excellent!

Take the bus, taxi's rip you off. The bus stop is really close to the hotel, its easy to get where you want to go, wait time between buses is very short, and its cheap.

The internet did not work in the room. The door to the room would only open a foot, so we had to squeeze around it every time ... we went in the room. We were robbed of all our cash and credit cards, and the front desk would not even let us use a phone to call the credit cards collect to cancel them. The employees of this hotel were the most rude people I have ever met in my entire life. We had no money for food after we were robbed. The front desk would not even let me use the phone to call collect to the credit card companies. It would cost the hotel nothing, but they do not care about the customers. They only care how much money they can get before you leave. Never go to this hotel. They are TERRIBLE!!! I called them about the internet access before I went, and they promised it will work in the rooms. There was never internet access in the rooms, ever. I asked them daily to please repair the internet, but they did nothing. Be prepared that they charge to drink the coffee in the room. They do not treat people like American hotels treat Americans.

NH Krystal Hotel reviewRecently, my life companion an myself had a wonderful vacation in Cancun. We stayed at the NH Krystal ... Hotel with a marvelous view of the blue turquoise color of the ocean and the white sand of the beach. The room was spacious and nice; however, it did not have a full image mirror at all.In our plan, we had the Continental breakfast, but we switched for the breakfast buffet that had a great number of options for all tastes, and I particularly loved the ripe and juicy fruit, and the Mexican soups that were delicious. All the rest of the buffet was diverse and well-presented. We also enjoyed the outside restaurant terrace with great service, tasty food, and fast and cordial service from all the waiters. The customer service in general was impeccable. The hotel has an extra amenity in its service; we received a bottle of champagne the first night, a cake the second day, and appetizers the following nights to just sit and relax at the balcony overlooking the full moon reflected on the ocean. Of all the people that assisted us with the enjoyment of our vacation, I would like to mention [...] - Manager NH Concierge Club. She has an extraordinary personality that not only fits her job, but surpasses it, as she receives all the NH Hotel guests with charm and cordiality. She received us as if we were years old friends. The warm welcoming was so great that we are already planning to return to the NH Krystal Hotel in Cancun for another escapade.

overall it was great - great location, friendly staff, gorgeous pool at the unbelievable price. 2 things to be improved - ... first, the bathroom needs some improvement. drainage of toilet and sink is very poor; shower water pressure is so weak; lack of shower room door makes the bathroom floor very messy. Second, check-out should be more effective. I waited more than 10 minutes just to check out.

We had mildew in our bathroom which made it hard for my asthmatic husband to breath. They also had some sort of outage down ... the street so I only got 1 hot shower during our 4 day 4 night stay. Our friends room had tiny ants in the shower. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. I didn't care fro the people in the lobby always trying to set you up with tours and dining. Also the beach pics are before hurricane Wilma. Half of that sand is no longer there. The columns also took a beating.

Great location if you want to be within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and popular clubs. Krystal does have ... a great pool and beach. Staff very helpful - anytime we needed something, room service very fast. If you stay, do the $30 upgrade you get a balcony and rooms are closer to the beach. It was a great value for the $$. We had teens with us, so we frequented the shops, restaurants and beach the most. Transportation system great - you can take a bus just about anywhere. I would stay at the Krystal on another visit.

There were 9 of us that booked this hotel 5 months prior to the date of arrival and I was told by phone and email that our ... rooms were be ready and available well guess what, only 1 room was ready. I requested 2 rooms with 2 beds, 1 room with 1 bed. I was given 2 rooms with 1 bed and when I left to request a room with 2 beds the door would not close to the room. Other room was given to us while the prior guest were still using it. Upon entry to the room the prior guest happened to be in the room at the same time. Good thing these people were not naked when door was opened. Rooms and hallways smell like sewer even as you walk up to the hotel from the outside. I found many ants as others mentioned. I was previously given a room with front view ocean then had to switch to a 2 beds with a front view of the roof of a building. Not good. Was told to come back next morning for ocean front view and was told it would cost me an additional 30.00 dollars a night for upgrade. Many promises, many broken. Only good thing is the location. Dont drink their drinks in the room or the snacks they cost you an arm and a leg. Go across the street at oxxo and buy your drinks and snacks there. Would not stay there again would rather stay at dreams hotel or fiesta american which is near it.

NH Krystal is great if your looking for a hotel near popular clubs, bars, malls and markets. Nearby shopping is not so cheap ... so I suggest taking a short bus to La Isla mall, to shop, and walmart for grocery needs. I also found it very nice that the hotel had a very calming atmophere with minimal vendors around. The hotel restaurant "El Mortero" was very beautiful and had a great, live mariachi band but was very pricey.

It was a nice hotel - the front desk ladies were somewhat helpful - didnt have our room once we got there, so we had to wait ... more than an hour for our room. The pool was a little dirty - and I didnt like how there wasnt a sandy beach right behind the hotel - there were sand bags and the wall of the hotel's pool. If you came to relax - Im not sure this hotel is right for you - it is located right around the party local of cancun. Friday night I could hear neighbors screaming and slamming doors - very annoying!
