Fan in the bathroom didn't work. They missed cleaning my room one of the days. The pay per-view movie channels weren't ... working. But other than that, the stay was pretty decent. I'd definitely rent from again. The price was an incredible deal.

Great price for a place to sleep
melissa the momma Oct 22, 2009
If your just looking for a cheap place to stay, here it is. Our family was in Florida for approx 1 week for a wedding and we ... also did all the Disney Parks. We didn't really spend any time there other than sleeping and getting ready in the mornings. It was clean and neat. They accidentally forgot towels one night, but were very nice and got them immediately. Food was good, priced the same in the surrounding area. the best part is you are just minutes away from the parks.
Traveler type: Family
Their breakfast isn't that great, and drinks aren't included in their "buffet" go out- there are so many other places in the area. Avoid their concierge desk- all they try to get you to do is listen to the time share presentations. They do have a shuttle but I prefered paying for my own parking at the parks (14$ per day)then I don't have to wait for a bus at the end of the day.

Terrific location

This highrise hotel is very convenient to Disneyworld. Beautiful lobby, friendly and helpful employees. Our room had a double ... bed and a convertible couch, two TVs, a sliding door to separate the bed area from the couch, a kitchen with a refrig, microwave, toaster, single-cup coffee pot, dishwasher, several dishes and glasses, and a few cooking utensils--everything you need to eat in for breakfast and lunch. Great view of the Disney fireworks at night. The only thing that wasn't good was the air conditioning noise. We were on the top floor so got to hear the air conditioner go on and off--very loud! so don't take an 8th floor room!!! The breakfast buffet was so-so. We ate breakfast at Shoneys up the road--cheaper and better. All said, we had a terrific stay there.

Breakfast buffet was ordinary and a little expensive for what you could choose.

At check in you have to get a parking pass so they send you over to the Conceirage Desk. There you get a high pressure sales ... pitch for their Time Share. The guy will not let up and in fact CHASED US to our car in the parking lot. I WILL NEVER stay here again.

We were not very happy with this hotel, the first room we checked into the bathroom floor was so dirty I used a wash cloth to ... wipe it and it turned black, also the door to the bathroom had various types of body hair on it. We then moved to another room it had ants in the bathroom-we had to move to another room. It was cleaner but the room smelled like smoke. It was marked as a none smoking room. We also had to ask for hand towels and bathmats due to not having any in the room.

staff was friendly. rooms were average and bathroom was small. I could deal with the room and size of the bathroom, but ... there was urine on the toilet seat and pubic hair in the shower--EVEN ON THE CEILING. I'm not sure how one even gets pubic hair on a ceiling that is 7' high. Great value for the money, but you might have to deal with a few wild hairs.

The Gateway Ramada is a very nice hotel. The rooms are clean and the staff was very friendly. We did not have a car but were ... able to walk to shopping and dinning, which is in all directions of the hotel. The only problem was when we wanted to go to Disney. There were only 3 buses in the morning to take you to the park and then only 3 in the evening to take you back. This made it difficult to make plans because we were unable to go back to the hotel and then return to the park later. This should be noted in the information so people know before they get to hotel and can't go to the parks or Downtown Disney at night.

Cheaper dinning than Disney and the hotel within a short walk.
