Very nice hotel for the price. Stayed in a suite that included a nice living room, kitchen and bedroom. There were large ... flat screen TVs in both the living area and bedroom. The bathroom was a little small & also could hear talking and other sounds from the adjacent rooms. There were four pools. The one closest to our room was quite nice with friendly pool side bar service. The location was close to shopping, restaurants, nightlife & golf.

PERFECT SPOT
Lisa Sep 16, 2009
I was a litte leary about this place since it was recently renovated and after reading some negative reviews, but we were ... PLEASANTLY surprised! The pools were FANTASTIC--all having a unique feature (one has cabanas, one has a fire pit and music playing,etc...). The grounds are so big that you almost feel like you are the only people there. The service at the restaurant, front desk, and housekeeping was GREAT. Very friendly people. Perfect location in Scottsdale--close enough to the malls, restaurants, shops, yet secluded and peaceful. We didn't have a suite--just a regular "room", so it didn't have a refrigerator or microwave, but had a great TV, air conditioning worked well (a little loud), and the beds were VERY comfortable. So glad we picked this place. Would definitely recommend.

Great for the Budget-Minded Traveler
Rachel Aug 31, 2009
The Xona is very close to many things in Scottsdale, and is great for the budget-minded traveler. I can't say how much each ... night was as we booked a total package with Orbitz (airfare, hotel, rental car) altogether, but I can say that the sum total was really cheap (off season) and we upgraded once we got there for an extra $100 (for 6 nights), which got us a room with a full size fridge, some dishes, dishwasher, table/chairs, living room area, oven. This, of course, saved us a ton as we ate breakfast/lunch in and ate dinner out, could keep drinks in the room, etc. Resort has 4 pools, all very clean while we were here, and staff very friendly, responsive to any questions we had. The ONLY thing I can say negatively is that the rooms themselves weren't what I would consider "upscale." The towels were a little frayed, the furniture didn't match. But, the bed was very comfortable, linens on the bed very nice, TVs in bedroom and living room huge flat screens. Resort with wireless internet, hairdryer in room. We also had a private back balcony with chairs.

Would really recommend a rental car; resort far from airport and gives so much more access to grocery stores, restaurants, etc.

Our room was the size of an apartment. Full fridge, stove etc. We were very close to everything, restaurant and pool and ... parking. The restaurant was nice and there were no crowds at all. Everything was very nicely decorated. The best part was the bed and bedding was incredibly nice! Top of the line linens, down comforter and great pillows.

I found the staff helpful and very courteous. I enjoyed the movies they showed near the pool at night for family night,a ... great way to enjoy a movie and settle kids down after a long day. I came to the area to graduate from college and except for the heat that I wasn't used to, I really enjoyed staying at this resort very much.

Great value and customer service
Golfer Jul 19, 2009
The hotel is located in a great spot right off of North Scottsdale Road. We didn't stay on the grounds too much since we did ... a great deal of sightseeing. There were several very nice pools on the property, unfortunatly there was a heat advisory while we were there and were only able to take advantage of them in the early morning and evening hours. The biggest drawback was the noise from the housekeeping carts early in the morning. Being early risers this did not effect us too much but I can see where this could be a problem. The staff were all beyond pleasant and were available to answer any questions and assist us in any way. We had a late flight and they were kind enough to extend our checkout time by 3 hours, picked up our baggage in the room and stored it for us for another 5 hours all without any additional charges. This is the third time we've been in Arizona and although not as scenic as past locations with a much smaller room this hotel suited our needs.

Conference traveler
RS Jul 14, 2009
For the purpose of having a place to sleep and bathe, the resort was perfect. I was there for a conference and spent little ... time actually on site. The room was neat but not necessarily clean. The comforter had visible spots that could have been easily cleaned in the wash. Some broken glass was not totally cleaned from the bathroom floor after note was left informing the housekeeping staff. The resort is only within walking distance of another resort so I would highly recommend renting a car to be able to experience a variety of dining, shopping and attractions because from what I could tell there was not much going on at the resort.

The Flying Quenelle Jul 8, 2009
I was upgraded to a king suite for some unknown reason, but who's going to complain? It's an older building that has been ... remodeled under new management. The bathroom is small by contemporary standards, but well appointed. The living room set up and the bedroom furniture were new, but kitchenette appliances dated. They were in good condition though. The pool looked wonderful, but it's Phoenix in July, so it was more like a bath... not the property's fault. Only objection was that I got a paper 4 of my 8 nights there and housekeeping used a couple of towels that I think had seen some better days. And the chicken fingers I got from room service were lacking. That doesn't say anything for the rest of the menu. **Also, I had an issue with the hot water in my room and the staff fixed it very promptly

Worker Bee Jul 3, 2009
My husband and I chose the Xona Resort because the website pictures were very nice. Unfortunately, the room that we stayed ... in was anything but nice. The bed cover had multiple stains, the pillow shams were so dusty that when I picked one up I had an allergy attack from all of the dust that went into the air. The bathroom floor was exteemely dirty as well as the bathroom cabinet...it looked like toothpaste had dripped all over the front of the cabinet. The seal between the sink and the counter top was ragged and looked disgusting. The doors had black finger print marks and some of the walls had unknown substances on them. The best part of our stay was the very courteous young man at the front desk when we checked out. His name was [...] and we would like to thank him for his professional and friendly manner.
