After waiting almost an hour for the lone shuttle van (how can one van hope to transport all guests?) we we "greeted" by a ... desk clerk who never looked up or smiled to acknowledge our arrival. Room was quite comfortable but the very noisy upstairs guests (girls' lacrosse team?) made our night less than restful.

Very convenient and comfortable
Swamp Lady Oct 13, 2009
This was my home base while visiting DC; it worked out very well, using hotel shuttle, BWI MARC train, and Metro. The service ... was efficient and cheerful, the breakfast was more than ample, and my window looked out on a small but pleasant lawn with eye-level trees. I recommend it.
Traveler type: Single
Definitely use the MARC train to DC. It is slightly more than Metro + bus, MUCH less than Amtrak and very pleasant. If you are a senior it is $3 each way; $6 for others. You cannot get a Metro farecard in Union Station,so get as soon as possible to the Metro Center stop, where all farecards, including a $10 week-long pass for seniors, are sold.

The hotel will provide you with a list of dining nearby. Or there is a list of Pizza places that deliver to the hotel. We accidently found a Diner called Bob Evans it was very close had excellent food and great prices. Great location when catching a early morning flight.

The room was wrapped into a air/hotel package. The package price was very low, which is my reason for the choice. Next time, I will not pick the lowest priced package.

Need that one night airport close
JimnBon Oct 12, 2009
Room was nice. Coffee in the lobby. We could sign up for the shuttle to the airport at the time we needed. Which was 4:30 ... am. The staff was helpful they even printed our boarding passes the night before so I could check in on line and have our passes and be ready for that early flight. Offered items you may have forgotten. Toothbrush, paste and so on.

The property is not maintained. *dirty, and unkept landscaping in front, dirty entry *lobby small and crowded, this area ... also serves as breakfast dining area *room smelled bad, like mildew but something more *bathroom fixtures leak, heavily and unprofessionally caulked as a preventive fix - caulk is "caked" on *lots of dust in room *bedsheet had nickel-sized cigarette burn

for smokers only-
JH Sep 29, 2009
The odor of cigarette smoke in the room pervaded throughout. It's unfortunate, since staff were courteous and helpful & the ... breakfast was much more than the usual array. While the value was appropriate for the price, I would not recommend this hotel to others due to the terrible prevalence of cigarette odors. JH Portland, OR

Shabby for a Microtel
Frequent busines traveler Sep 27, 2009
This motel is in a good location vis a vis airport and downtown via light rail. BUT...needs management that understands ... customer service. If I were the parent company that franchised this operation I'd inspect a lot more. Train or replace staff. And get this place up to par compared to other locations.

Quick check in and the key cards to the room worked fine, clean rooms supplied with the basics, although the TV cable ... channels weren't clear and some not viewable at all but we spent room time mostly for sleeping. Very convinient location to main highways, D.C., Baltimore, and parking was a plenty. Didn't try the gym or pool but the continental breakfast was good,(eggs, sausage, muffins, cereal etc..) Will most likely go back their.

Alissa Aug 3, 2009
The continental breakfast was pretty disappointing. It began at 4:30 and ended at 9:30 - way too early for a lot of people. ... The maids took forever to clean the room. Both of the full days I stayed there, I came into the room around 3 or 4 to see the room the way I had left it. I thought the maids were supposed to clean while the customers were out. Other than that, the hotel was impressive. The beds were very comfortable and the staff was friendly.

The front desk has a bunch of flyers for places that deliver. I highly recommend one of the places - I forget the name - they offered a pizza pie, chicken wings, 1/2 sub, and a 2-liter soda all for $25. The food was amazing!!! It really made me wish I lived near Baltimore. I would definitely be a regular customer if I did.

If tight on cash, go to an hotel that has a refrigerator, microwave and has a real "Continental Breakfast," not coffee and dry danish. So after you eat and are full, you can take extras, oatmeal packets, yogurt and cereal etc. Get gallon of milk from a gas station and eat till diner. Ghetto maybe but keeping it real, lol.
