Key West is Great, The Radisson is NOT!!
Ed Nov 23, 2009
The Hotel is horrible. [...] The hotel was last done in either the late 70's or earlier 80's. And it wasn't good then!! ... The hotel in general is very very worn. The rooms are so small, there is actually no room for your luggage. I'm not a big man by any standards, but I could bearly use the toilet and not have my knees in the opposite wall. Don't bother with a room in the front of the building, it's like sleeping next to a highway. Traffic is way to loud. The only redeeming quality of this hotel was the 24hour Denny's in the lobby. Oh, and no microwave in room, but funny enough you can buy microwave popcorn out of the vending machines. This hotel really just needs to be torn down and redone!!!!

Decent Economy Hotel in Key West
DonDon Nov 3, 2009
I visited key west for the Halloween/fantasy fest weekend. I was a little nervous about the hotel, having read both very good ... as well as truly horrible reviews. What i can honestly say is that this hotel is definitely a decent hotel. It is a little bit of an older looking building (or it could just be hurricane-beaten) but the room i was given was definitely ok. There were the usual hotel room amenities like iron/ironing board, coffeemaker, and even a mini refrigerator. The room had a sleepnumber bed that was in full working condition, bed sheets and towels were clean, etc. While the building and rooms could use a little TLC, they are more than decent. Just dont go if you are expecting luxury or anything above a 2-2 1/2 star room. While the hotel is situated a short drive from the downtown area, this made for a more quiet and relaxing hotel experience, and I was able to find regular, non-tourist trap style restaurants. A Denny's 24 hour restaurant attached to the hotel was exactly what was needed after drinking on Duval Street. I did not go to the pool area, but the pool looked clean and the pool area was well decorated and family friendly.

There is a private beach area within a National Park on the island, I do not recall its name, but it is well worth the small entrance fee to go there rather than the public beach. There are plenty of benches to just chill on, a really nice coral beach with beautiful clear water, and charcoal bbq's with benches for a picnic. Just ask for the nat'l park on the island.

The island of key west is only 4 miles by 2 miles so everything is very close. But, I do recommend that when you're buying tickets for tours or attractions you can buy all the tickets at one of the locations and receive them at a discounted rate.

The hotel is very beautiful and lives up to its name. The staff is very friendly and you get your own concierge that can ... help you with all needed to have a good time in key west. This service includes great deals. The room is spotless and the beds are sleep number beds which are very comfortable. The pool is great and it has a nice snack bar. The gym has about five different machines but it's really all that you need. I feel that I got my money's worth.

Poor Hotel. Poor Customer Service
Disgusted Radisson Guest Oct 31, 2009
This hotel is in desperate need to repairs and renovation the owners are obviously unwilling to undertake. No courtesy ... transportation to or from the airport was offered. [...] Noteworthy is that our stay was on an extremely busy time and the room was "sold" to another guest looking for accommodations while I was still in the lobby. The Radisson is obviously not content with sharply increasing room rates for this night ($269 for the night in question vs. $129 for the night before)but somehow feel entitled to collect it twice for the same room.

Disappointing, Overall
Dissapointed Sep 7, 2009
The room was okay when we arrived but that soon changed as we later found the middle nightstand infested with cockroaches. ... After killing off those, we then found that the tv remote didn't work and the tv was super fuzzy. Also, one of the matresses was broken on one of the sides. The elevators never worked, leaving us to take the stairs the entire 3 day stay and after the long haul from the farthest parking spaces, that wasn't very enjoyable. The pool was nice and not very crowded but that was about the only thing we enjoyed about this hotel.

Key West Concisrge([...] ? and [...]) were fantastic, the Fury staff on both cat's we sailed on made shure we had a great time, well worth the money, Sebago cruise was nice but over priced by about 15 to 20 percent. Scoter rentals at end of Duvall St were more reasonable than those nextdoor to hotel.

This hotel is a good place to stay if you aren't planning on much nightlife on your trip. Spent too much $$ on taxi's to and ... from old town key west. Another downside to this hotel is that they don't have a continental breakfast, just a Denny's. however, it does have a pretty cool pool and bar area

Our first room overlooking the Gulf was noisy due to road traffic, badly worn with dirty carpets. We were moved to the fifth ... floor at the back, very quiet and much fresher than the 3rd floor. Our air conditioning broke down on the last night and as the hotel could not fix it they gave a free night instead. $15 dollar taxi ride one way from Duval St and Mallory Sq.

My review of Radisson Hotel Key West
James Dec 4, 2008
One person on the hotel staff put a damper on our trip as soon as we arrived. It was raining close to hurricane conditions, ... and a vehicle was parked under the roof in front of the hotel. There was barely enough room to get the front door of my vehicle out of the rain. I had to go back in the hotel and ask if the vehicle could be moved so I could onload my luggage. I was surprised to find the vehicle belonged to an employee of the hotel. All he did was pull it down a bit so my car would fit under the roof. When I finished, I had to get the car waiting behind me to back out so I could back out and park. Also, the carpet in our room was several years past the replacement point. One good feature was the 24-hour Denny's restuarant in the hotel. But there was no restroom there, and so you had to use the one in the hotel lobby.

If you stay ther, try to get a room that faces the pool. We opted for one that faces the Gulf, and the traffic noise went on all night.

Room did not compare to lobby
Belinda Oct 22, 2008
The Radisson at Key West had a very inviting lobby. Check in was pleasant and efficient. The pool area was nice and clean. ... The room keys did not open the door untill 4 of us tried any where from 2 to 15 times. The maintence man told us we didn't know how to use it. We had no problem with the keys to the room that we had next door to us. He was not understanding. The hot and cold water faucets on the sink were on the wrong side. That was very dangerous. The bathroom was undesirable. The tub did not drain after we took showers. The manager came to our room much to her dismay - After the third time she came to our room she told us she was upset with maintance. She acted like she was upset because I was very frusted and said a curse word.It was not a pleasant experiance.

Shop Worn Mess
Keneth Aug 11, 2008
This hotel betrays its heritage. It was a very worn out buiding, in need of major repair. Air conditioning was not ... functional, and the maint. Staff did replace it. Door locks did not function and so we were given a different room . Check in was delayed. Blamed on housekeeping being behind. Housekeeping was terrible, all non-english speaking and unable to understand simple requests such as please make up our room before 5PM. Rooms were never cleaned in three days stay. The pool area was overrun by Iguanas that deficated in the pool, and the notorious key west chickens that soiled all other walkways. Cute is one thing, a health hazzard was something else. During our stay the electricity failed, (Not The Hotels Fault) however there was not one single emergency light working in the building, including EXIT lights. Elevators were filthy and had no air conditioning at all. This hotel has seen its best days, and offers little for its upscale pricing. I will nots tay there again.

Excellent view
Patricia Jul 25, 2008
The hotel is nice enough with a terrific view, but we had a problem with one of the number beds. One worked fine, the other ... sank to the bottom as you were laying on it. We reported it but they didn't change the mattress and it continued to sink. My husband weighs 100 lbs. more than I do so I tried sleeping on it but in the morning, I was at the bottom. The pool area was nice and they offered free computer usage. Mostly, the hotel was nice enough and the rooms are large There was a Denny's on site also, open 24 hrs. I would stay again but not on a number bed.
