Not too good!!!

I guess I should have known by the price ($150 for 2 nights) that this place was going to be dump. The hotel is old, the ... decor is old, the TV reception horrible. No hair conditioner, tiny bathroom, dirty microwave, and the list goes on. For an extra few bucks, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE, especially if your traveling with kids (of any age). My son called it the crusty hotel!

The hotel was nice, clean, and the breakfast was good; however, the phone in he room didn't work even to reach the front desk ... or for wake up calls. The room was very far from the office and the weather was bad so I didn't go to the front desk for what I needed. I just did without. The location of the room was also very loud. I could hear the people in the parking lot as well as the other guests in the adjoining rooms.

Not a bad place - good value for the $$$
price conscious business traveler Sep 24, 2009
Ok, so for ~$80 a night - you cannot have very high expectations - especially in the DC or Northern VA area. The room was ... clean and very roomy (I had a king-sized bed though vs. two queens). Nothing fancy - just a decent room. THe pool (was closed) looked nice. The entire hotel could use a mondernization to replace metal-framed windows, update the decor and fixtures, etc, but again, overall, not a terrible place. Staff was friendly. The restarant in the hotel was unfortunately closed for renovations. The free morning breakfast was a decent touch - including made-to-order waffles (but no breakfast meat??). I was surprised to learn that it has 3 Wi-fi access points, however, they were unreliable. Again, for the price - its hard to fault. it was clean, quiet, smelled ok and provided a comfortable restful place to sleep - isn't that what motels are for?

Dissapointed traveler Jul 13, 2009
I found the hotel to be lacking in a lot of areas. There was nothing that was particularly bad, it just needed a bit of ... attention. Although the room had been cleaned, there was obvious repair issues and places where management had tried to cover up the age of the building, such as a rather large crack in the ceiling of my room.

Bea Jun 20, 2009
Compared to previous trips I have taken and hotels I have stayed in, this Days Inn would rate at the bottom of my list. Very ... dirty and noisy. Breakfast selections were minimal; no eggs, bacon, or potatoes. Just cereal and starchy items such as waffles, toast, and bagels. Food items were not kept replenished during breakfast hours. Set up of eating area needs improvement. I will not stay at this facility again.

The best thing about this hotel was the staff, which were very friendly and helpful. The room had a wet smell and water bugs. ... The room didn't feel clean and the carpet was dirty. Channels on the tv didn't work. You heard every noise made all day and nite. The maid kept trying to come into the room and it was no where near check out time. For the price paid it wasn't worth it at all.

Good Hotel for the price

Days Inn Alexandria South was perfect for my family and I. We stayed there while visiting Washington, D.C. The bus stop to ... the Metro is located in front of the hotel. It's the only bus that stops there and the Metro is its last stop. The Metro is on the Yellow Line and it connects with the Blue Line which takes you to Arlington Cementary, Pentagon, Chinatown, and Downtown D.C. I purchased Metro cards for our trip which made it very convenient. The hotel is budget two star, but it's clean. No bugs, clean room and clean towels everyday (although the towels are rough). The staff is friendly and accomodating. The pool had been drained, so if you're going during the summer, ask if the pool will be usable. There's a restaurant and it makes delicious, authentic pizza. If you going during the summer or school breaks be ready for kids running around and banging on doors, late at night. It didn't keep us up. We were so exhausted at the end of the day nothing could have kept us awake, but if you are a light sleeper, beware. The continental breakfast was standard - toast, muffins, waffles, bagels, juice, milk, cereal, and coffee. I enjoyed it. I will end this by quoting my eleven year old, "The hotel is clean and people are friendly".

The stay was pretty good , check-in was outstanding becuz I did'nt realize that I had arrived earlier than the normal ... check-in and had drove a very long distance and the front desk person made extra effort to accomodate us by having the housekeeper concentrate on getting a room prepared for us . We were in our room within 30 minutes. The room was very clean and stocked well. The only negative thing that stands out was rhat there was a beautiful pool with outdoor lighting and lighting inside the pool , yet the pool was closed at 9pm when it was most ideal to swim and recline poolside after a hot day . I think that should change , obvously out of respect for other guests children should be restricted after a certain hour.

The day I checked in the staff was very nice, however I wasn't expecting the room doors to be outside. I was a little ... nervous staying here. I had to write an email late at night to a colleague in their computer room and one of the staff kept yelling at me becuase the computer closed at 11:00pm. She was really mean and miserable.
