My review of Best Western Cascade Inn & Suites

We checked into the hotel and after going to the room, we could smell that it was a smoking room. At that time I went down to ... the front desk and asked to please be moved into a non-smoking room, the front desk clerk informed me that this was a non-smoking room. I asked him why there was an ash try in the room and why it smelled like stale cigarette smoke. He informed me that someone must have placed the ash-tray in the room, but he would move me to another non-smoking room. I went back upstairs to gather my bags and looked...there was not a non-smoking symbol on the door...so in fact it was a smoking room. The room that we were moved to was a non-smoking room right by the smoking room and had a very stale lingering cigarette smell about the room as well.

The beautiful Columbia River Gorge is 5 miles away in I-84. Lots of waterfalls and beautiful views of the river.

Comfortable Stay in a Clean Motel

The Best Western Cascade Inn and Suites was a very clean and modern motel. The room was large and clean with a practical ... layout and nice extras like a fridge and a microwave. The location allowed very quick access to the Portland Airport, the Columbia River Gorge, and Downtown Portland. I will definitely keep this in mind when I need to stay in the Portland area.
