Don't book your room through [...]

Dumb for staying at the Omni Dec 11, 2009

I was not pleased. When I booked the room I wanted a king room. No standard kings but I was prompted to ugrade for $20 to a ... premier king which I did. When I arrived at the hotel my room was preassigned which was helpful. When I got to the room it was a double. I went back to the front desk and explained that I had paid for an upgrade room an was placed in a double. She indicated this was all they had available. When I asked for a refund I was told that since I went through [...] I would have to request the refund from [...]. I did not feel like I was treated as any other guest and I felt discriminated against because I did book through [...]. The pre assigned double room was the first tip and being assigned the room across from vending machines. If I requested a upgrade room and prepaid for that room I should have recieved what I paid for. I will also look at other booking parties if this is how [...] treats its customers. Travelers have many options and I think this experience will have me using these options. I feel as though I was deceived through this whole experience and will not be returning to use this service in the future.

We stayed for a week visiting our son. The room was very clean - daily...food was very good and reasonably priced...staff was ... available and friendly...may be our best overall hotel experience ever!

Expensive room merchandize, water $6.00.

Everything OK. Wet people from swiming pools should use special elevators. Wet hallways and elevators floors, due to the fact ... that people from swiming pools use same elevator with the rest of the guests. Items in the room extremely expenses; a bottle of water $6.00.

Disappointed

Would recommend to a friend!

The hotel was nice looking and the location was great, but when I called the front desk and asked for the double beds that I ... had booked with Orbitz, I was told that Orbitz could not guarantee the number of beds and that was why people no longer used them to book rooms. I was told that they would try to send us a roll away bed, but they never called back. Other than that, the staff was nice.

Luxury can come in small packages

We found the staff at the Omni to be gracious to a fault. The rooms were immaculate and had everything we needed. The only ... thing we found surprising was the size of the room - so tiny! It was difficult to get to the far side of the bed when the furniture that contained the television had an open door.

Great hotel!

My husband, my 2 year old daughter, and myself LOVED our stay here. It was a very nice hotel, and very family friendly as ... well. We will definitely be going back to this hotel in the future! The only draw back is that it's not very close to any typical San Antonio attractions (Riverwalk, zoo, Sea World....). It will take at least 20-30 minutes to get to any attraction. BUT, it's still worth the stay!

Fantastic Stay

Would recommend to a friend!

Beautiful hotel, great employees, very clean rooms. First time here, but will definitely stay at the Omni in the future when ... visiting San Antonio, about 10 miles from both Sea World and the Alamo district. Will save money by eating out, especialy the breakfast, less expensive to eat complete meal rather than a la carte.

Nickeled and Dimed to Death

The hotel was very expensive and so my wife and I expected great service. Unfortunately the Omni thinks that you should be ... charged for the smallest of features that would be standard at another hotel. Internet cost about $10 per day. Room had many amenities with each of them costing between $6 and $20. When we checked in, the sheets were dirty and the shower had hairs stuck to the walls.

Not worth it

Disappointed Mar 5, 2009

We had problem after problem with this hotel and it was overpriced for its rating. I would rate this no higher than your run ... of the mill 3 star hotel, although the 3 star hotel probably has friendlier and more reliable staff. We had to change rooms and it ended up being a complete fiasco. We went to use the pool one evening and it had been taken over by a child's birthday party which left it uncomfortable to use for anyone else. The room service staff was very nice. The beds were comfortable and the room was average in its cleanliness. The front desk was mainly incompetent and unhelpful which is such a surprise for an Omni hotel. Also, this was not your typical Omni... the hotel definitely needs a makeover.

Quick tip

I never liked the Omni

The staff at any Omni is always great including this location. Check in/out always smooth. My biggest problem was the rooms ... and the cleanliness. Once you go over a certain dollar amount depending on the city your in the sheets should be new or at least without stains on them. The omni in San antonio is one of the cities premier hotels. I didnt feel like it once i stepped into the hotel and seen the hallway, ride the snail elevator, or slept in the burnt sheets in my room.
