At check-in, we were greeted very pleasantly, helpful staff. Even though we arrived early, our room was ready. The room was ... very spacious, however, the rubber molding & weather stripping around the NON-OPENING sliding glass door to the balcony was torn, out of place, and was an eye sore. Also, didn't like that the door could not be opened. I paid over $$$ for a view of the marina, and could only enjoy it from the inside of my room. The toilet was very dirty on the outside, it had not been cleaned. The toilet was also TOO CLOSE to the door & the tub! The carpet was very worn and needed replacing. The t.v. needs to be replaced by a LCD flat screen. I've stayed @ less-expensive hotels, and they have large flat screen LCD t.v.'s. Last, to pay for parking is ludicrous! When you pay as much as I did, hotel guests should park for free!

"Daddy, I want this!" Aug 8, 2009
While we were there we went to the beach and took the kids to the aquarium. Both were close. Room was super small and the ... double beds were more like double twins. Small t.v. no refrigerator, and small plain bathroom. Dont spend too much time in the room! As for dining very close to a lot of places and a really good steakhouse on top floor of hotel. As for the value it was definitely not here.

Omni Marina Hotel ALL WET
me Jul 31, 2009
2 night stay, on arrival to room 1807 we noted the room to be a little humid, but so was the entire area (Corpus Christi TX). ... BUT it became apparent the next night that the humidity in the room was from water leaking from the shower/tub behind the wall and into the room causing the carpet to get soaked. You could see where the shower tile had been repaired in the past, but looked like it needs another regrouting to make it waterproof. There was also some water in the ceiling tiles from upstairs. The wifi internet connection (although free after signing up for OMNI Frequent traveler account) was very spotty with frequent connection attempts required. The staff was friendly but were not able to answer most of our queations about things in the area. The bell hops were the most informed about giving directions etc. The first day we left the room at 10:30 am and the housekeeping cart was directly in front of the door of the room. When we returned 5 hours lated, the room had not been cleaned. The 2nd morning, one of the 3 elevators was out of service and the wait was fairly long. We opted to use the stairs, but the door to the stairway would not open!! Glad there was no emergency. Overall, I would not go back to this hotel.

The best Grandma - ever! Jul 30, 2009
We were told it was a 2 block walk to the beach, it turned out that it was a two mile walk to the nearest beach. The hotel ... is right on the water but not near a beach where you can swim or let children play. One of the beds had some bad stains on the bedspread and the vent did not work in the restroom. I was pretty surprised by the carpets in the hallways as well since they were pretty worn. On the other hand, it was very quiet and peaceful. The staff were friendly and courteous. There was a room set up where kids could play video games or do crafts. We would go here again but would hope to pay a bit less.

City Diner had great seafood for my husband and myself but it also had kid friendly food that was great too. We got a less than friendly waitress but could see that some of the others were super nice. Maybe it was just a bad day for ours. You never know....

4th of July at the Omni Marina Hotel
Lost-looking for the elevators Jul 5, 2009
Although the rooms were clean enough, housekeeping did not come until evening. Small balconies with no access (big let ... down). Doors that slammed shut with a loud bang if you did not hold them to intentionally keep them from doing that. Only 3 elevators - althought they were fast transporting you from floor to floor, you had to wait for long periods of time to catch one. Our biggest complaint was the parking garage which was marked with several obscure lines, making you guess where the actual parking spaces were meant to be PLUS (big plus), the distance from the parking garage to the hotel elevators. It was not a good set up. I felt like a mouse in a maze - with luggage. We will skip the Omni Marina on our next trip to Corpus Christi.

If you are a fan of late 50's & early 60's rock & roll and local trivia and memorabilia, The City Diner is the best. It's close and is reminassiant of the old fashioned soda shops. They play the old rock & roll music and offer such things as the 1/4 Lb Greasy Burger. They also have very good seafood and their prices are reasonable. Of course Landry's & Joe's Crab Shack are close by but The City Diner can take you back in time. We enjoyed it!

Arrived at 6 to a very friendly staff who had me ready to go in less than a minute. The Room was Clean Mid sized. Very nice ... Bathroom and shower. The Best Part Was the Bed and the PILLOWS! Very Comfortable bed which made the whole stay Great. Easy Checkout No hidden fees. Just watch out for the $4 Bottle water waiting in the room or 3 dollar bottle sodas that they sell but overall great classy hotel i was very satisfied.

waterbunny Apr 23, 2009
We were disappointed. We expected the best of an Omni stay, but the oceanview was partial. We wanted to take pictures of ... the ocean from the room but were unable to due to the dew on the sliding glass door. The coffee pot was in the bathroom next to the toilet. That was nasty. The bathtub drained very slowly. And the air conditioner didn't work. The bed was impressive though. We slept very well.
