When we checked in they upgraded our room from 2 queen beds to a suite with one king bed and a pull out bed. The room was ... nice with 2 flat screen t.v.'s and a walk out balcony. The boardwalk is literally right behind the hotel so that was cool. But there isn't a lot of choices for restaurants besides dining at the hotel or on the boardwalk. The only thing I didn't like is when we checked out they tried to say a "movie" was rented that we did not rent. After debating the issue for about 10 minutes the charge was finally removed!

HOTEL ERWIN, VENICE BEACH CA

The hotel was lovely, clean and comfortable, the location was right by the beach which we like. There were alot more vagrants ... then the other times we have stayed at Venice Beach. We were concerned at first because we were right next to the elevator and the stairs that led to the roof top lounge. We never heard a thing!!! It was very private as well. Very close to the beach.

Great hotel - steps from the beach
KS in LV Sep 16, 2009
My husband and I stayed here for the last 2 days of our California honeymoon to relax and go to the beach. The staff was ... really friendly and helpful. We stayed in a king suite (on the city side), which is 750 sq. feet and felt like our own apartment (liv room, kitchen area, frig, microwave, nice bedroom). The bed/bedding is great, and we were really comfortable. The room was very clean, nice towels/linens. The rooftop bar is a MUST. Drinks are pricey, but the view is priceless so it's worth it. We loved the location and being a stone's throw from the beach and boardwalk. There are only a couple of cons; one being that the area tends to be a little noisy and dicey at night. Having a city-side balcony, we witnessed a few drunken arguments. We've vacationed in Venice before so we knew what to expect. The only other con was that they were doing some sort of repairs/construction in the room next to ours in the morning of our 2nd day, which was annoying and woke me up. We got a decent deal on Orbitz, so our stay was worth it, and I would definitely stay here again.

this was perfect for a girl's getaway. it was close to the beach and just a short walk from shopping. the only thing is that ... i wouldn't have wanted to walk alone at night in the neighborhood. didn't have to cause there's valet parking. there was supposed to be an ipod connector in the room that they said was on order. because we were expecting to use this they accommodated us with no charge for valet parking the whole time we were there. nice bonus! would definitely stay here again!

Experience was nice, however, descriptions of views from the rooms need to be more accurate with the pictures posted.Rooms on ... the left side of hotel are much better than the rooms on the right side for views and the top(6th)floor is the only worthy floor for a decent ocean view

Nice large suite with a kitchenette, and hugh fluffy bed. The sinks, faucets, and shower were all brand new. The hotel is ... under construction, but it wasn't inconvenient at all. It is located right at the main corner of the Venice boardwalk - a very fun place.

beachside hotel in transition
Word Jun 15, 2009
This hotel is transitioning from being a pretty standard place to a bit more of a design-conscious hipster hotel. We were ... there in the thick of the transition, which meant it smelled like fresh paint in the lobby and we had to walk through a construction zone and the parking lot to get to the guest elevator. Once to our floor, everything seemed fresh and clean and, much to our relief, there was no construction noise. The room was pretty big, and the little balcony had a view of the ocean and Venice Beach. We had some issues with the shower -- they renovated everything except the toilet and the bathtub -- but I was won over by the good water pressure and massage nozzle. We stayed here at a deep discount due to the renovations, but probably would not stay again at the full price.

Wonderful Staff, Hotel in Transition
Wendynbooks May 22, 2009
The hotel is undergoing a transition to a new, updated look, and unlike other hotels that go through renovation, this one is ... almost silent and invisible to the guest. I returned to the hotel each day to find new, small improvements, and all done with no noise or interference with operations. The staff was incredibly nice, notably [...] at the front desk, who greeted everyone by name and was full of wonderful tips and recommendations about the area. It is a non-smoking hotel but you can definitely smell the smoke from previous incarnations, so be advised if that is a problem. The flat screen behind the front desk that displays the beach view from the roof real time from the CCTV is a really nice touch. There is no hotel dining, but a breakfast nook was being built this week and looked modern and comfortable. The hotel is near many casual restaurants, and driving distance to elegant dining in Santa Monica.

They charge $15 a day for parking!
John Jan 6, 2009
The view sucked, the room was worth about half what we paided for it. There was supposed to be a complimentary breakfast, ... none. To top it off there is no parking, you have to pay $15 a day for the parking service. Oh, I almost forgot they didn't clean our room until 4:30 PM when we got back to relax, so we had to pass on that. One more thing the room phone didn't work. I complainted twice but I guess they had to handle other problems. I guess some fokes have a lower standard then me. Really you should pass on this place.

We stayed at the Marina Pacific over the Christmas Holiday. The room was quite large and well maintained. The valet parking ... was quick and the valet was very courteous ( opened doors and called you by name). Even with the additional cost for the parking, this was a good value. Breakfast was sufficient - the belgian waffle maker was a nice added touch. This was so convenient to my daughter and son-in laws place, that I am sure we will use them again.

Lovely hotel right off the beach and within walking distance of some good places to eat, have coffee or throw down a couple ... of beers. Venice beach is very clean and attended by a lively crowd of people of all ages from every corner of the planet. Rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed. Bathroom could have been a bit bigger, but there was otherwise plenty of space to groom and dress. Balcony had good partial view of the beach and the area is fairly residential, so noise (at least at the fifth floor level) was minimal. Breakfast was fine with choice of fresh waffles, yogurt, fruit, danish, coffee, etc. Lots of room to eat on outdoor patio. Guests were mostly Euros and fairly low key. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Close to Santa Monica at Venice Beach prices. Nice stay. Recommended!

Comfortable and clean clos to the beach
Herman Sep 22, 2008
We stayed for three nights at this hotel. We had a nice room, with two comfortable king beds. The room was well equipped with ... nice furniture, clean and well maintained. The hotel is very close to the famous Venice beach, just one block away. many rooms have an ocean view. Ours had one from the small (standing room only) balcony. Obviousely there are two sides to this hotel: there is a side that is close to a bar which in weekends plays loud music till wee hours of the morning. The receptionist therefor put us on the other side, where it's much more quiet. And extra word for the very nice collection of rock photographs on the walls. Overall: value for money...

I really loved Best Western Marina Pacific Hotel. This was my first time in Venice and it was the perfect spot. Not only ... was it a perfect spot, but the room was MAGNIFICENT, they upgraded me to the suite, it was just fantastic, I wish I could live in it!! There was a king bed, fireplace, a nice big flat screen tv, a kitchen w/ everything in it, it was just awesome... The beach was a hop and skip away, so many places to choose from on where you want to eat... weather was great!! I would highly recommend Best Western Marina Pacific Hotel.
