The La Quinta Inn and Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport is just minutes south of Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. We are a great home base for all area attractions: Fort Lauderdale and Miami International Boat Shows, Hollywood Beach and Boardwalk, the entertainment district of Fort Lauderdale, recreational activities in the Florida Everglades and Big Cypress Preserve, South Beach and Other Miami attractions, and Pro Player Stadium (Marlins & Dolphins). Our hotel is situated adjacent to shopping, dining and entertainment at Oakwood Plaza. We are not far from the Bass Pro Shops/Outdoor World, and the Broward County Convention Center.

Reduced services for late arrivals

1)Sheets from former occupant were still on bed when we returned at night. There was no one to change the sheets, but a pack ... of too small clean sheets were left. 2)Room staff instructed not to handle medical equipment (oxygen). Therefore, bed not made up in morning because we inadvertently left plastic tubing on bed. (There was no such instruction to us--i.e., a warning card about medical equipment). When we returned at night there was again no one to make up the bed.We've traveled with oxygen equipment for years and never had this happen before.

The Hollywood Ale House is a good place to dine. The nightly specials are a bargain and the desserts are wonderful. La Quinta will drive you there and back.

Decent stay and no complaints

I only wished it was slightly closer to the airport, But the location is balanced out with being so close to a plaza with a ... movie theater and a decent selection of restaurants. They have hourly shuttle service to the airport and great continental breakfast.

Hotel needs maintenance and repairs

Just stayed overnight. The two staff members I met were pleasant and knowledgeable. The breakfast was adequate. Location ... was easy to access, with good parking. Now for the bad parts. The bed was worn out. There were tiles missing in the bathroom. The carpet had a 6" X 12" patch of what appeared to be candle wax smeared on it. The shower head in the bathroom had been replaced with the wrong part, leaving a hole in the wall. There was no hot water in the shower. It was lukewarm, and the shower controls were all messed up. The paint was comming off the bottom edges and other parts of the cabinets. The carpet in the hallway had stains in it. This was my first experienc with La Quinta. I will not stay at another.

People were sitting the lobby waiting, some ordering pizza delivery, while waiting for the rooms to be ready. Orbitz charged ... me when I made the reservation and La Quinta charged me when I checked out. (Charged twice, different amounts)

Great for Pre or post cruise

Hotel is located near the airport and cruise port. They provide transportation to the airport or cruise port. Walking ... distance to several good restaraunts. Plenty of space in the rooms. Nice pool area. Breakfest is just OK.
