Nicely located hotel for shoppers. Rooms are neat and tidy. Staff are very friendly and quick to lend a helping hand. If ... travelling in groups or two or more from the hotel to the SF airport, take a taxi and skip the bus service recommended by the hotel. The bus is more expensive per head than other similar service providers. It also has to make several stops before going to the airport.

Great little hotel & excellent value!
Travel Bug Sep 7, 2009
The location was fantastic and the staff was very friendly. The housekeeping staff kept everything very tidy, and we were ... impressed with this boutique hotel overall. One complaint is that the hotel has no air conditioning (apparently not uncommon for San Francisco) but did not advertise this. It was only an issue on the 1st day (the end of an unusual heat wave) and we were very comfortable for the remainder of the trip, as the window opens and there is also a powerful ceiling fan. Unfortunately, the front desk advised us on the first evening that they would send up another fan and that never happened. Overall though, I would recommend this hotel. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were well-appointed. It was a great centralized Union Square location and cable cars are available a 1/2 block away.

tayfur Aug 19, 2009
i stayed at this hotel for three nights. The location is very nice, it's in downtown. But I just found out that they accept ... dogs so it made me think that the black furry blanket on the beds were for dogs. the bathroom dor wouldn't lock. the sinks are very old. I always had to plug my nose when going in the elevator. But they had coffee and tea service in the mornings which was nice.

Clean and Affordable
Aussie Traveller Aug 16, 2009
Very close to Union Square, with very clean rooms and friendly staff. Our room was also very quiet. It was great to have ... access to a computer and broadband. My only issue was that they debited $50 from my visa card without notifying me in case of damage or theft (it was recredited) but when I went to dinner that night I was embarrassed - I should have been told that this was debited as I had paid my accommodation before arrival. Unfortunately the credit didn't show back on my credit card for 3 days in which time i was back in australia and no longer can use that credit card - hence it ended up being a rather expensive night and now there is $50 floating around in cyber space.

A Great Place to Stay!
jrhonj Aug 8, 2009
Located right off of Union Square, the hotel provided easy access to shopping, cable cars and entertainment. A responsive ... and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. The only down side was street noise during the night. I would recommend reserving a room that does not face Post Street, which will also provide you with a stunning view of Nob Hill.

Comfortable and Convenient
Buzz Jul 4, 2009
We were able to walk to both the Golden Gate Theatre and the Orpheum from the hotel. Shopping is very convenient - so is ... Chinatown. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were ready with dining and activity suggestions. The hotel was VERY easy to find; it was clean and quiet. No real views - but we were there to sleep only - so did not affect our stay. As with all older hotels, small bathroom with no place to put all of your toiletries. However, one of the most comfortable beds we've slept on in a hotel in SF.

Environ Traveler Apr 22, 2009
This hotel is very cute. The staff is very nice and definately make a guest happy. I needed to check in early by several ... hours and check out late by one hour. They accomodated my schedule without any hesitation. Staff always greeted me when I arrived/left. Towels and bedding were nice and fluffy. Rooms were cute with unique furnishings. Wireless internet was free and worked well. Nice flat-screen TVs that are mounted so that they can be tilted for better viewing. The lobby area was cute and comfortable as a sitting area. The only thing I did not like was their shampoo, which was kinda like jello.

Nice room with very charming and classy decoration. Very clean. The staff is willing to help you with a big smile. No ... breakfast but you can have free coffee. And if you want you just go next door to the hotel to get croissants, sandwiches and orange juice...(I went there in my P.Js!)Newspaper at my door every mornings! In the afternoon, complimentary cherry and wine in the lobby !They have a restaurant but too pricey for us (looks good though!) We enjoyed it very much and the location is just perfect, just around the corner of Union Square and the Cable line ! You can go anywhere from there.

My review of Kensington Park Hotel
laila Feb 15, 2008
The main problem experienced while staying at this hotel was room comfort and maintenance upkeep. The TV did not work...we ... were given the option of transfering to another room on the same floor to watch a movie....with no other options offered we accepted...then in the middle of the movie the TV shut down , unable to be viewed again...it was very frustrated indeed to then move back into the other room again. The following day and trird night the manager agreed to move us to another floor with a king size bed and a suposedly working TV. Alas, the TV we found was broken also....however we slept good. The manager was helpful and appolegetic. Although the hotel sttaff was very helpful and did their best...it certaintly impaired our pleassure valentine get-away-vacation
