Excellent restraunt puerto madera across the street. Ask cabbie price first while doorman is there to know price to location ... or you could pay more. Cold shower/bath water but turned the gas on higher and fixed. Cold hot tub got a little warmer when we complained but we were there during the onset of IDA and so the weather was crummy and cold rain water cooling off hot tub.

One of the best vacations ever
pelmastar Oct 24, 2009
We stayed around the pools most of the time. The only negative was after the first day the surf became very rough and I was ... unable to go into that gorgeous ocean. The buffet breakfast was delicious -such a large variety - it's goingto take ahile to lose all the pounds. The staff greeted to and after they remembered your name they would use it. Wehad no problems with the hotel and would definitely stay there again. We would also try other Ritz- Carltons as their service was incredible.

Service Excellence!
Wolfgang Oct 21, 2009
Everything at the hotle was excellent. My only problem was the food and drink onsight were a bit too pricey. We made our ... morning jog to Starbucks (~1 mile away - city bus an option for about 75 cents) for a cheap breakfast. We also grabbed a bottle of booze and mixers from the convinience store across the street to eleviate the pain of $12 drinks.

Love the Ritz Cancun...
Chicago Mom of 2 Oct 19, 2009
We went without kids to relax and it was the perfect getaway. I think every room has an ocean view and it is a gorgeous view ... of the Carribean. The hotel is beautiful and the service is top notch as you would expect from a Ritz. We have done the all-inclusive Cancun area trip and it's not really for us. This was perfect and with the package the Ritz offers during the off-season it was like being at an all inclusive with Ritz service and quality. We will definitely be going back!

We used Cancun Shuttle as our transportation to and from the Airport. No problems whatsoever and a lot cheaper than the transport the Ritz offers.

Pampered at the Elegant Ritz-Carlton
Teacher Mom Jul 18, 2009
We enjoyed working out each morning in the fitness room where we were given cold eucalyptus fragrant towels and bottles of ... water to cool ourselves. The beach and pool attendants were very helpful and friendly. They did a nice job setting up your beach lounge chairs with nice towels and umbrellas and canopies if you so desired. Restaurant food was delicious. We would highly recommend an evening dinner on the moonlite beach, be sure to make reservations! The concierge was very helpful with making other restaurant reservations. You could easily walk or take the city bus to those if you preferred that over renting a car or taxi. We did rent a car one day to drive to Akumal towards Tulum. We had stayed in a house there a few years ago and just wanted to go back and see how much it had changed. The drive was easy and fun! We did not get sick and we felt very safe the entire time we were in Cancun. We already are talking about going back, it was so relaxing!

Relax, swim, dine. We stayed for six nights and we enjoyed all the days. This is my second trip to cancun and the second to the ... Ritz.because the first was great too.

the dining at the hotel was incredible for quality and service, but if you want to have 5-10 min walk there is a great steak house (Puerta Meadores) and an italian resturant (Dolce Vita)

It's hard to go wrong with the Ritz, it was first class service and amenitites all the way. Although the room was clean and ... well appointed, it was just a typical hotel room with a reasonable ocean view. the balcony really wasn't something you would enjoy spending much time on due to the size and lack of privacy.

Ritz-Carlton Cancun, MX
Operaman Apr 22, 2009
While the hotel is not for the budget minded...the service that you receive is impecable. Fantino's restarant was well ... presented, and the food was good, but not excellent. However, I can not say enough good things about the Viking Culinary Arts studio and Chef Rory...he was great. The techniques taught and the simplicity of the recipes make this something that anyone should be able to take to their table and impress friends and family. The Spa was nice, but would recommend others in the Cancun area. The beach was beautiful, although a little sparse...but that should be fixed in a couple of weeks as a result of the hurricane taking most of the sand out to sea. All in service and Viking cooking school are great...

The best hotel in Cancun
Guihyun Sep 5, 2007
This hotel is by far the best hotel in Cancun. They had great restaurants and it was inexpensive compared to other top notch ... hotels in the U.S. Also, we really liked SPA in the hotel. We got massages and they were the best massage ever! One thing that we did not liked was the high price of using wireless internet ($25).

Have a breakfast in the Cafe Mexicana restaurant. It is $30 per person and you have great selection of gourmet foods.
