1)Don't do the breakfast buffet the hotel. $16/adult and charged my 2 & 4 year old. Selection really wasn't worth it. Go to Embassy Suites which is 2 blocks away. $12/adult, didn't charge for my kids and had so much more to choose from. Plus, we didn't have to tip at EmbassySuites. 2) Cafe Du Monde has a satellite location at the Riverwalk mall which is 10 minutes from the hotel. Same price, same good beignets but closer than the 15-20 minute walk to the one on Decatur St. Plus this location is indoors so it's air-conditioned.

Super Clean, Great Staff, Blah Buffet
Grace Aug 16, 2009
Super clean hotel. ~10-15 minute walk to french quarter. Close enough without the noise. Very friendly bellhop and valet ... staff. Loved the hotel. Minus: Valet parking only and it's $28/day. Breakfast buffet is a piece of junk at $16/adult. Go around the corner to Embassy suites. $12/adult, didn't charge for my 2 & 4 year old and better food. Overall, would stay again.

A GOOD CHOICE
D SASSY 1 Aug 4, 2009
THE LOCATION IS IDEAL FOR MOST POINTS OF INTEREST. MANY ARE IN WALKING DISTANCE. THE DECOR IS EYE APPEALING. THE HOTEL STAFF ... WAS COURTEOUS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. THE DINING ROOM FOOD WAS OKAY BUT NOT WORTHY OF THE PRICE. THERE WAS COFFEE AVAILABLE IN THE MORNING FOR HOTEL GUESS BUT LACK A CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WHICH WOULD HAVE ENHANCED THE STAY CONSIDERING THE HOTEL RATES.

Great price, beautiful hotel!!!
Renee Jul 22, 2009
Beautiful hotel and great price. My family was very excited when we pulled up to it and the inside of the hotel was so nice, ... full of art, marble and very nice staff. Rooms were good on size, bathroom nice but only downfall was coffee. They would never give you enough cream or sugar and coffee. One packet of coffee for one cup which when made was strong. So I needed plenty of cream and sugar. Then if anyone else wanted coffee, there was not enough. We had to go hunt staff down to get more. But overall, wonderful hotel. Oh yea, very pricey on the parking.

Great deal for a four star hotel. Gorgeous art and good location for downtown. Kind of a long walk to the French Quarter but ... do-able. Beware, they charge almost $30 for parking a night but we always found close spots on the street for free.

Very Nice!
Single Lady Traveler Jul 4, 2009
First of all the hotel was very inexpensive compared to some of the other hotels not blocks away. After reading some of the ... other positive reviews, I decided to to ahead and make a reservation. As everyone has stated, the lobby is beautiful. I found that the staff was friendly and helpful and the room/bathroom size was perfect for me. It is on a less traveled side street, which was fine. If you don't mind walking a little, you're within minutes of the convention center, restaurants, Harrah's casino, etc. People must not know about the hotel because although it was during a music festival, the hotel was not crowded like some of the others. This hotel is my little secret :) and if I come back for the future festivals, I will always stay here.

The room at the hotel was beautifully done with a great bed and bathroom, very restful and comfortable. The artwork ... throughout the hotel and rooms was very impressive and a major motif of the place. Location was convenient to everything we wanted to do.

Relaxing, enjoyable weekend trip
Beach Couple Jun 1, 2009
We drove in from North West Fl. and right from the start the staff was great. The car doors were opened, the luggage removed ... and put on a cart and taken to our room. We were early for check in but the room was ready so they let us check in. The room itself was on the small side but very comfortable for 2 people. Clean, upscale linens and pillows. The car is taken away and you do have to pay for valet service but they had our car out front within 10 minutes of our call. Overall it was a wonderful weekend.

The frech quarter is about a 10 - 15 minute walk, the Casino is a 5 minute walk. We really like this location because we do not like to stay in the French quarter because it is fun durning the day but noisy at night.

Renaissance Arts Indeed!
donovan Jun 1, 2009
The hotel was all i hoped it would be, beautiful building (renovated warehouse), large rooms with super bed and bathroom, and ... a wonderful rooftop pool and sundeck (great view!). The artwork throughout the hotel and rooms was significant and added a unique aspect to the stay there, very memorable! This is much different and enjoyable than staying at a typical chain hotel and I always look for this quality. The location was central to all that we wanted to do and I truly had no complaints during my stay there.

Excellent location. Quiet spot. Pleasant and professional staff with excellent response to needs. Staff make guests feel ... important and provide a personal "at home" feel to the environment. I highly recommend this hotel. I will never stay at a "conference hotel" again when staying in New Orleans, but will stay at the Renaissance Arts.

Stylish Arts Hotel
Kevin Jan 1, 2009
The Renaissance Arts Hotel is perfect and can be appreciated by any artist. The building has an adjacent art gallery, as ... well as artwork displayed throughout the hotel. The room we had was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was large and clean as well. The beds were very comfortable with large plush pillows. Also, located in the warehouse district, the location is centrally located for anything in walking distance...restaurants, bars, french quarter, museums, etc.

Great arts-based ambiance
Thomas Dec 30, 2008
Renaissance Arts in New Orleans was clean and filled with art that gave the hotel superior ambiance. While our room was ... not spacious, it was quite adequate and clean. Good exercise room and outdoor pool and tub on the roof. Walking from the hotel to the French Quarter and to the Mississippi was a easy task. Quite satisfactory overall.

Great Weekend Spot
Kristen Nov 16, 2008
We were meeting friends for the weekend and were looking for a place that gave us all the appeal and ambiance of New Orleans ... with out being in the French Quarters. Great location and excellent dining nearby. The rooms were a descent size, very comfortable and well equipped (I especially liked that make up mirrors in the bathroom.) Service staff was terrific. We could walk to the French Quarters and felt very safe at night. Quality facility and great value. My favorite part? The amazing artwork in the lobby....what a treat.
