Kinda pricey... but worth it!

My husband and I stayed at the Vinoy for three nights for a conference. I was extremely impressed with the setting! It is a ... beautiful location with views of the water, nearby a pier, and several restaurants. There are two different buildings which guests can choose from: historic and the tower. The historic building is exquisite in architecture and atmosphere, but also family friendly. However we stayed in the tower section which was also a fantastic choice. We had a corner room which allowed two balconies, one facing east and another south. The room was spacious with an open living area, ample closet space, and a nice large marble/tile bathroom. Staff was extremely friendly. We enjoyed the restaurant and bar area at night. Several friends felt right at home catching up with a drink! The hotel is pricey, but it was perfect for us in all other respects! My husband did not want to leave...

The staff was very knowledgeable about the amazing history of the hotel and eager to share this interesting information. ... It's a stunning hotel, very comfortable, excellent food and perfect location. I was in St. Pete's for a wedding ~ not at the Vinoy, but most of the guests stayed there. A great experience all around.

If you have the time search for rates that can save you up to 50% on the normal room price. Exceptional value if you get a good deal. If not, still a fabulous experience.

My husband and I stayed at the Vinoy for three nights for a conference. I was extremely impressed with the setting! Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids under 12) stayed here for one night only, to go to the baseball and to break up a string of ... long flights. Thought this hotel was out of our price range but fluked an exceptional rate through [...] which was 50% off. We did not feel in any way that quality or care was sacrificed because of our discounted rate. Exceptional staff (and a lot of them) ready and willing to help and serve. My initial concern that we would be given a small room in a noisy section was completely unfounded. We arrived several hours before official check in time and were relieved to find we could go to our room immediately. Were given a large 2 queen bed room at street level, but it was very quiet. We were not disturbed by any noise from the many baseball players or fans who were staying in the hotel. My husband and son were delighted to find a free Vinoy shuttle bus which returned them after the game. There was also a major charity event being held which ran along the front of the hotel, but any inconvenience from that was handled efficiently by the staff. The location was absolutely perfect - the yachts in the harbour just outside, walking distance to shopping and restaurants, and of course close enough to Tropicana Field to walk or catch the community shuttle (or utilize the hotel shuttle). One night was not enough to be able to fully explore the hotel or its many facilities, so I am unable to comment on the pool or fitness room, or even its bars and restaurants. If you arrive in a car there is a car parking charge. If you email the hotel they will provide you with the charges, which I am not able to detail. They are not excessive, but probably the only annoyance I could come up with for our stay. I have stayed in top quality hotels throughout the world (before children!) and unreservedly state that this compares most favourably with them. For the budget conscious - please do not dismiss this hotel when you see regular rates. If you have the time please look for a discounted rate. Through [...] our rate was less than half the regular rate for 2 queen beds. This is an amazing price for such luxury and quality. Again, I am not able to provide exact pricing details due to the restrictions on leaving comments, but can only reiterate that this experience was one that I am glad to have had. MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you can find a good deal.

This hotel was excellent. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated like royalty. The check in/ valet ... & all hotel staff were extremely friendly & helpful. The hotel is very elegant & yet historical. The only downfall is that we wish we could've stayed longer. Definately will stay here again & again!

We always enjoy going to the Vinoy because we are treated like royalty. Everyone on the staff is courteous and goes above and ... beyond to make your stay wonderful. The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is well maintained and luxurious.

You are treated like royalty the moment you pull up to the valet to the time that you check out. I took my daughter there for ... her birthday and we enjoyed the spa services. They even gave her chocolate covered strawberries when they found out it was her birthday. The pool is beautiful and clean. The bartenders are awesome. This is one of our favorite hotels and we stay there often. It's nice to arive in your boat as well.

We were there for Ray's baseball games. The location was great. They had a free shuttle to the ballpark so one did not have ... to drive and park at the Dome. After the game we refreshed with a quick dip in the hot tub and pool. We had late night cocktails while listening to smooth jazz. The room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Great time! We will be back.

Our visit was very enjoyable. However, the upgrade to balcony that we paid for got us a room on the second floor that faced ... the tennis fencing and driveway. Very unscenic. We asked to be moved and got a good view on a corner, with no balcony. We like the spacious new room on the 4th floor, so no problem with the paid balcony. I think that the Vinoy did right by us with the move. But want you to know that the second floor balcony room that they reserved for us was sub-par. Verna Ray

For the price of our room and for the time we were staying i dont think there was a better choice of a hotel. The entire ... hotel was amazingly beautiful, the staff was very nice and helpful, overall a great experience. Be prepared to spend some money though, the restaurants on location were not top quality in comparison to the price of their menu, but there is plenty of places to eat very close by. Be warned however, if you choose to park your car yourself that you get a parking slip, you dont have to pay for your parking but if you dont prove you stayed at the hotel when you leave they will charge you. i was charged 24 dollars just to leave the hotel, because i had checked out before i moved my car! but other than that, great location and a great stay
