A rough start turned into a smooth stay

When we first arrived, our room was incredibly smoky (non-smoking room) and we had to get [...] involved. After that, we got ... a new, fresh-smelling room and everyone was very nice to us. They called us cabs immediately and helped us load and unload all of our tons of stuff. Our toddler loved the staff, running through the halls, and the breakfast. I liked the location, the fitness center, and the breakfast. My husband liked his bed. A nice trip to Philly overall for work and play.

We went to the Please Touch museum with our two year old. It was fun for him, but overwhelming, and crazy for the parents! I would recommend this museum, but make sure you get there early and do it on a day you have energy to spare.

We visited the Consitution Center, the African American Museum, Franklin Science Center, the Philadelphia Art Institute, ... Philadelphia Art Museum, Penns Landing, the Convention Center and the Mummers Parade. We walked to all of them. The only bad part was when the manager of the hotel removed half of our stuff, canceled our key and made us go to the registration desk to convince them we were not the party that booked through [...] with a stolen credit card. I think the manager could have handled it better by investigating further. We were booked for three nights. The users of the stolen card only booked New Years Eve.We will go back. The confusion was resolved in a few minutes and we moved back to our room an about 15 minutes. The breakfast room is great.

Great experience!!
RCC Oct 30, 2009
The hotel staff were very helpful and amenities were just right. The room was comfortable and free wi-fi a real plus. The ... small fitness center was perfect and indoor pool relaxing. The good experience was only slightly lessened from the extensive construction still occurring across the street but at least they don't start working until 0630!!

Jason Sep 29, 2009
The hotel was inexpensive, which was nice in the Philly area. While the overall neighborhood is fine, the hotel itself is ... difficult to get to, and unless you knew it was there prior to your trip, you would not find it. The fitness center was smaller than my bedroom.

pros: very nice staff, comfy beds, clean rooms, AC, indoor pool, hbo :), very quiet despite construction next door. free ... breakfast if you wake up early enough. great for couples cons: expect traffic if you're traveling after 5pm it's very busy right off the exit; some noise in the AM because of construction on surrounding streets but not so bad that it disturbed sleep; vending machines are only in main lobby and I was on the 9th floor.

Paul & Matt Aug 9, 2009
The hotel was very nice, but the nearby construction on the Phila. Convention Center harmed the experiemce. Roads are blocled ... off and it is difficult to drive to the hotel. Parking lot was extremely small and the valet parking ended up leaving your car lost behind one or two others. Breakfast buffet not up to usual Hampton standards

Southern Bell Jul 10, 2009
The room was clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. The location was central to everything. Staff was very ... friendly and the breakfast was good. The only problem we had was that our toilet broke at 10:00 at night and we were told that it couldn't be checked until the next morning. We had to use the lobby restroom.

Good Location, Okay price
Philly Tourist Jul 6, 2009
Generally, it was a good experience. It was strategically located so lots of sites were at a walking distance(Liberty Bell, ... Independence Hall, Franklin Institute, etc.). The price was okay, it included complimentary breakfast(which some hotels near-by did not) and the service was good. The only issues during our stay is that they changed the breakfast hours and didn't notify the guests. So one morning we had to go out for breakfast and Philadelphia is not a cheap city. We also had some difficulties in our room with noisy AC and a clogged toilet but the staff resolved these quickly once notified. Otherwise, everything good. :)

Cecil Jun 4, 2009
After a very lengthy search for the best deal in the area, this pick was perfect. I have no complaints other than a minor ac ... problem. However, a friendly maintenance man quickly responded to our call and remedied the problem. The location was great. It was just a short walk to China Town, Independence Center and a very short walk to the grand City Hall. I would recommend this place. Must mention the staff was very friendly and the rooms clean. Check in was easy and the place is only about 10-15 minutes from PHL int'l airport.
