We booked 2 rooms, one was the 2 bedroom condo and the other was a standard 2 queen bed room. The ones that were given to us ... were right across each other, so it was very convenient. The staff was amazing! They attended to our needs so quickly and so efficiently. Would definitely stay there again! Highly recommended to those that have kids! Has its own playground and kiddie pool for the kids!

Take advantage of the continental breakfast and the afternoon social. It saves money! Also try to make reservations online. You get what you need at much lower prices.

Little Peg Jan 14, 2010
Excellent price, good location close to airport but road construction work on frontage road access is a challenge. Newly ... refurbished condo was beautiful but fancy bathroom sinks not practical. Need grab bars in shower area and mats for slippery tub. We were delighted with the improvements and will look forward to future reservations at this place.

Great hotel at affordable prices
Andrei the Giant Jan 13, 2010
The stay at the hotel was really great. [...] at the front desk was great at helping us check in and very informative of the ... different services offered and times. Continental Breakfast is offered which was ok not great but really who can argue with free. Also free drinks and nachos were offered during the afternoon. The room was really nice and clean. Only problem was the mini fridge didn't cool very well but that wasn't a big deal. Overall great experience.

Comfortable Country Cottage
Pitts' NorCal Dec 12, 2009
Professional, courteous and friendly staff helped us to check-in and out. The continental breakfast buffet helped us get a ... good start to the day. They have a cozy lobby/living room/breakfast room with a fireplace and TV set. While we did not use it in the winter, they have a nice pool and hot tub. There is also an outside patio with bar setup for Happy Hour every day. There are picnic areas all around the area for your own meals during the day. For kids there is a nice, safe playground. The hotel was in a perfect location for my and wife to my family off Thousand Oaks/Mecca exit on 281 N. Near by is the airport. Also, it is a quick drive to the downtown area.

Super Staff really saved us!
Griswald Family Nov 24, 2009
The staff was very helpful and friendly. After check-in, we discovered that our second room didn't have 2 twin beds. We ... called the desk and they quickly moved us to a room with the twin beds. After checkout, we discovered that our sons had locked and reset the combination on the safe with a rented movie and gaming system inside. The staff was helpful to get the GM to unlock the safe and retrieve our kids "valuables" and also returned a shirt we'd left in the closet. Our only complant was the carpet seemed dirty, it didn't appear dirty, but it made the bottom of the kids socks really dirty.

We were there for our sons graduation from Fort Sam Houston. What a nice hotel. We were very happy with our room and the ... friendly staff. The construction out front was annoying to try to get out into traffic but that was not the fault of the hotel. We absolutely would stay here again if we return.Sanantonio is one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited.

Hotel is old, in much need of general maintenance/remodel. Rooms were good size but not very clean. Room service was ... spotty, and not very good. Front Staff was exellent. No fault of the Motel, road/freeway construction on going, making entry and exit very diffucult at this time.

I enjoyed my stay there. If not for the Highway construction it would have been a perfect stay. The weather did not allow me ... to enjoy their large pool during my stay that is the one drawback I had. When checking in, I asked the about the availability of WiFi, the Desk Clerk immediately offered me a room closer to the reception area where the signal was good.

Quiet, Clean, and Cozy.
Doug Oct 19, 2009
Check in was no problem and the room was prepared neatly, AC was on thankfully for it was a humid and hot San Antonio night. ... Really liked the separate living room with it's own TV and writing desk and coffee table overall double bedroom is spacious. Complimentary breakfast was basic cereal, fruit, juice and cofee. I was able to get internet access from my room but the signal isn't strong you need to be nearer to the pool for a full signal. Never tried the pool but looked very clean. Minor issue is the construction being done on highway 410. You must go to downtown San Antonio it's really beautiful, the River Walk, The Alamo. Will surely be going back to Hill Country Inn and Suites.

The River Walk (Paseo del Rio) is about 10 minutes by car at the most! Take the family and go for a walk, see the Alamo across the street and then head back to the River Walk for dinner. The best Mexican food you'll ever have is there!
--Missy, Bedford, Texas Aug 31, 2009

The absolutely best TexMex restaurant in the entire state is on Redman Rd, just off 1604. It's called La Hacienda de los Barrios. The food is marvelous. The original Los Barrios is downtown on Blanco street and is also wonderful. The owner, Diana Trevino, won a throwdown with Bobby Flay from The Food Channel. She won and, oh man, her food is the best!
