A Fabulous place to Visit!

We were there for our sons graduation from Fort Sam Houston. What a nice hotel. We were very happy with our room and the ... friendly staff. The construction out front was annoying to try to get out into traffic but that was not the fault of the hotel. We absolutely would stay here again if we return.Sanantonio is one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited.

Hotel is old, in much need of general maintenance/remodel. Rooms were good size but not very clean. Room service was ... spotty, and not very good. Front Staff was exellent. No fault of the Motel, road/freeway construction on going, making entry and exit very diffucult at this time.

I enjoyed my stay there. If not for the Highway construction it would have been a perfect stay. The weather did not allow me ... to enjoy their large pool during my stay that is the one drawback I had. When checking in, I asked the about the availability of WiFi, the Desk Clerk immediately offered me a room closer to the reception area where the signal was good.

Doug Oct 19, 2009
Check in was no problem and the room was prepared neatly, AC was on thankfully for it was a humid and hot San Antonio night. ... Really liked the separate living room with it's own TV and writing desk and coffee table overall double bedroom is spacious. Complimentary breakfast was basic cereal, fruit, juice and cofee. I was able to get internet access from my room but the signal isn't strong you need to be nearer to the pool for a full signal. Never tried the pool but looked very clean. Minor issue is the construction being done on highway 410. You must go to downtown San Antonio it's really beautiful, the River Walk, The Alamo. Will surely be going back to Hill Country Inn and Suites.

Perfect hideaway right in the city
Grampa Sep 26, 2009
This place is a treasure. We stayed here about 18 months ago and liked it so much we made a point of coming back. They've ... done some renovation and now it's even better. Clean, cabin-like suites, surprising sense of privacy and being "away from it all" and close to nature, even though it's right on I-410. Access is a bit of a hassle right now because of highway construction, but definitely worth it. Minor drawback: they only have wireless internet in the common areas.

I was there for one night. It was a business trip. Right now it is a little difficult to get to the place becasue of the ... highway construction, but once I got there it was worth it. I really liked the peace and quiet. I was able to get my work finished. The hot tub was right outside my room, so I was able to take a quiet, late night, relaxing dip.

The hotel has a cute cabin look and the staff is very courteous. Our room was spacious. Everything would have been great, ... but the room was not clean, the bathroom smelled of urine. I really did feel like I was camping. We were only there for one night so we decided to stay because of our late arrival. They did clean the bathroom. When we pulled back the sheets to go to bed we were greeted by stained box springs. It was too late at night to change rooms...never again!

Great Family Spot
Missy Aug 31, 2009
The staff was friendly and extremely helpful from check-in to check-out. The room was large and nicely appointed but not ... extravagant. The rustic flair to the rooms was a hit with out kids because it reminded them of cabins we've rented on vacations. We were not expecting the small sitting room and second TV which was a very pleasant surprise and allowed the kids to watch cartoons and my husband and me to watch the news. The pool is large, well lit and beautifully landscaped. The continental breakfast was ample and ready to go early which was a great help to us. Although we weren't there for the activities during the week, the hotel has ice cream socials and the like during the week...something our kids made us promise to bring them back for. The location, while somewhat difficult to access, is good. While not next door, it is not far from downtown, Sea World and other local hot spots. The hotel is undergoing renovations. We were not in a renovated room, but it was still nice. I wish that the beds had been a little softer; but for the price (thanks Orbitz!), it is the perfect choice for families on a budget traveling with children. We look forward to going back for Spring Break next year.

I called to confirm my reservation and even then the staff wanted to make sure I would have everything we needed to enjoy our ... stay.[...] was especially helpful and had us placed in a room close to the play ground, a spa and a bbq grill. [...] was extremely sweet, getting some coffee packets for me and helping me with the laundry center. The staff even granted the requests of my friend's eight year old child for a towel for the pool or quarters for the vending machine.I would definately stay here again as well as recommend the hotel to others. In fact, I'm hoping to come up to San Antonio again around holiday time.Great job, you all should be proud.

very central located. Easy to get to downtown riverwalk, Sea World, or mall. The absolutely best TexMex restaurant in the entire state is on Redman Rd, just off 1604. It's called La Hacienda de los Barrios. The food is marvelous. The original Los Barrios is downtown on Blanco street and is also wonderful. The owner, Diana Trevino, won a throwdown with Bobby Flay from The Food Channel.
