Understand that the hotel serves temporary travelers into and out of O'Hare but compared to other Sheraton Hotels in the ... area, overall poor performance. Beds not comfortable. Limited and very poor food in bar. Breakfast was good. No pen, writing paper or shoe shine in room. Asked for shoe shine cloth - nothing happened. No English speaking staff at reception.

We ate pizza at a little local joint almost 2 miles from the hotel, it was incredible! Can't remember the name of it, but they had the best deep dish pizza I've ever had!

Harray Caray's is a short walk across the parking lot. Gino's East and Giordano's are both a short drive away for those wanting to sample Chicago's finest pizza.

Great Family Getaway
Viv Aug 17, 2009
The hotel staff was very accomodating and the rooms were very clean. The only thing I didn't like was the shuttle service, ... each time we arrived at a designated pickup station, the Sheraton Gateway van was always the last one to arrive. Once we waited 45 minutes for a shuttle.

Wonderful

I personally love to stay at this location (Sheraton Gateway Suites- Chicago O'Hare)when I travel for business to Chicago. ... It is absolutely wonderful in the sense that it is clean, close to the airport and business meeting location and very spacious. Being able to have just that little bit of extra space in the sense of living space really makes you feel at home. The Fitness Center is quality for Hotel/Resort location and I enjoy being able to have access to use it during my stays. I have stayed at other locations near this one and none of them compare! I have recommended this location to my business associates knowing they will definately enjoy their stay, no matter how long or short.

Awesome Hotel, Great Rooms
Vick Aug 9, 2009
Great hotel, stayed w/ friends and thought it was great that the bedroom was seperated from the rest of the room, so we could ... sleep seperately. Restaurant was very pricey, but the bar was great. I thought this was a classy hotel, one of the nicer I've stayed in over the years. I will definately book my trip here next year.

Great Experience...
Chicago traveler May 13, 2009
This hotel was a great pick if you want to be somewhat outside the downtown Chicago area. However, there weren't many places ... directly near the hotel itself to eat, shop, etc. The staff was friendly and the rooms were wonderful - nice and large! The only thing I was not super impressed with were the prices in the hotel restaurant/room service/etc. One evening we decided to order desert to our room, and just for two pieces of pie and no drinks, our tab was $26.00. The desert was delicious, but not quite that delicious.

OK for sleeping but not very nice, wasnt so clean and had a dripping water tap which do annoy when trying to sleep. Rather ... expensive breakfast (17 usd)and had to pay for parking. For conveniance to the airport this would be just about OK.

I enjoyed the hotel it was beautiful, however I did not like they charged my credit card after I had incurred no charges ... and I saw it on my bill when I got home. I was unable to get room service other than that the location was great, staff could have been a little more pleasant, the location was nice.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Chicago for a short stay. It is conveniently located next to O'Hare ... airport. The suites are quite large, with a large flat screen TV in both the bedroom and living area.

Old Hotel.......Needs Update
John Nov 17, 2008
We've always had good luck with the Sheraton line of hotels but this one needs work. It's an old building with carpet that ... looks 25 years old and stained in every room. Bed was rock hard in our room but our son's bed in his suite was softer. They also charge for parking which I don't agree with regardless of their location near the airport. Didn't eat in their restaurant, not even sure they had one to be honest. They did serve some sort of breakfast buffet but we found a Denny's just a few miles away.........Grand Slam baby!

The room setup was awesome, and the staff responded to our requests in a very timely fashion. The staff was also very friendly and polite!
