Breathtaking Banff
Under the radar travel writer Sep 27, 2009
The Fairmont Hotels are magnificent and other than the check in process in Banff, the trip was perfect. When I checked in, ... the person behind the counter said that I had booked with Orbitz, and that there were no rooms available in the main hotel. He tried to put me across the street in the conference center. We went back and forth for a while, and he finally gave me a room (not the best location and not the best room), but at least in the main hotel where I fully expected to stay when I booked this trip.

Spa services in Banff are outrageously expensive. There are several spas in town, very close by, where you can get a 90 minute massage, for 1/2 the price of a 60 minute massage in Banff Springs Hotel.

Wonderful - loved the outside bar area on the 2nd story roof for a drink in the evening, lounging by the pool with mountain ... views. Pool area has a full lockerroom so you don't have to go down in swimsuits. Very short walk to riverside trail.

The Banff Springs is a beautiful, older property set in a breathtaking mountain location with world-class views all around. ... The service is exceptional, as it should be for the price. Great golf course. Hikes and horse adventures start on the grounds. Infinite nooks and crannies to explore throughout the place. Be forewarned though, EVERYTHING is 2-3 times the cost elsewhere in the town.
