Solid choice depending on the price
Mr. Face Sep 17, 2009
The rooms were pleasant and well appointed, but our particular room was a bit stuffy. (Fortunately, the room did come ... equipped with a fan, which did help substantially.) The linens and bed were quite comfortable, and the rubber duck in our bath was a nice touch. The hotel is right across from Victoria Street, which has some of our favorite shops in Edinburgh.

Good experience at this hotel. Everything was clean. Rooms are small (as they are everywhere). I would stay here again and ... recommend it to someone else.

W. Bow and Victoria Streets are just at the corner. There are great shops and restaurants right on Grassmarket and both these streets.

Lots of pubs in the immediate area. Regarding getting to th ehotel from the rail station, take a cab from Waverly Station - it's a short drive but a tough walk.

Numerous pubs offer lunch (5 pds) and dinner specials in short walking distance

The hotel is nice...slightly above average in room size, decor, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the location ... is perfect. Just a short walk to the Royal Mile...lots of restaurants, shops and bars right on Grassmarket.

Nice hotel in good location
visitor May 23, 2009
I arrived tired from the US and it was no problem to check in early. When I got to Scotland, I found that my cell phone ... didn't work. The front desk allowed me to make local calls to contact those whom I was visiting. Free internet on the second floor was a great convienence. I plan to stay at Apex City again.

Great location and value!
ktn187 May 20, 2009
This hotel is hardly 4-star quality, but still a very good value for the special Orbitz rate given its location and helpful ... staff. The rooms are small for two people, but one usually doesn't spend a lot of time in the room on vacation. The television had only five channels, not good for winding down after a great day of sightseeing. The location is outstanding. Almost everything is walking distance! There is a little noise from the Grassmarket street, but not enough to bothersome. The breakfast is very good and well worth the money.

A pleasant experience
Andrew May 27, 2008
The Apex City is in a good location. The room we were given was very spacious and the bath/shower area was very large. There ... was a lot of closet space as well. The towel warmer was a great plus. The hotel also provided free internet access and a wonderful selection of free snacks in the room. The staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful. There were also many selections for breakfast. Although we did not utilize it, the Apex has a sister hotel (only a couple doors down the street) which has a swimming pool, sauna, and steam room that can be used by hotel guests at no extra charge.

There are a few good pubs across the street. Great restaurants are also close by. The hop on and off bus stops right in front of the hotel.
