More of the Name Brand than what it offe

Hard rock is more of the name than anything. The room was super small, the bathroom was tiny.. You had to stand in a corner ... in order to open the door and get out. They charge for parking, internet and etc.. The pool bar automatically charged 18% tip and i received bad service and no free refill on fountain soda. THe hotel looks 10x bigger in the pictures... The velvet bar was tiny, but very nice.. Great bartender. I wouldn't stay at that hotel again. If i want to stay on property, I would try the other 2 hotels...

The Perks made the Trip!!

I went for a long weekend with my wife to enjoy Universal Studios. Because we stayed here, our room key worked as a fast ... pass in the parks. We did EVERYTHING in both parks because we had the fastpass. It was incredible. our last day, we just spent outside at the pool relaxing and listening to music. I was hesitant to pay the extra $$ for this hotel over Royal Pacific (I've stayed at both), but now that I've seen what you get, it's worth the extra money to stay here. Better food, better staff, better atmosphere, shorter walk to the park, and even better fellow guests!

This was our third stay at The Hardrock Hotel. We brought our 2 adult children (over 18) and they're friends. Everybody had a ... great time as usual. The Hotel is very lively and the staff is awesome. If you're looking for peace and quiet, you would be better off at The Portofino. The Hardrock is the closest hotel to the theme parks only about a 5 minute walk.

I WILL BE BACK AGAIN..AND AGAIN....AND..

Let me start by saying I am a REAL person and this is a REAL review. When I read reviews i often wonder if they are real ... reviews or just planted by the company to say great things. So rest assured I am a regular person like you. That being said This was an AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! The staff was amazing. The friendliest staff I have ever met. Everyone from the front desk..to room service..to the guys that work at the ice cream parlor...etc. And by friendly I mean genuinly nice. Not that fake cheesy overly-smiley face some give you. Now perhaps we were in the right place at the right time, but got a free upgrade to the Club Level Suites on the 7th floor!! Where you have access to a private lounge with complimentary drinks, internet service, and other things. The on-site dining was fantastic. The pool was a blast. Complete with giant water slide, underwater speakers to listen to music,& plenty of room. The location was the best part. It was so fun to look out the room window and see roller coaters and attractions for all the universal parks. There is a nice water taxi that takes you to City Walk and from there you can walk to either Universal Studios or Universal Island of Adventure. (Which by the way with your room key allows you to use the express line at the parks so there is virtually no waiting for rides!!) If you are feeling up to it you could probably just walk to the parks. This was a great experience and I will always stay at this hotel when I come to Orlando! OK so just to show I am not all gushy over this place I will include a negative. Room service breakfast was kinda pricey. I suggest getting up and go down to the restaraunt called "The Kitchen" they have a great breakfast buffet for less than or equal to the price of room service breakfast. Also there was a foot stool in the room with what looked to be an small iron burn mark on it. Not a big deal but I just wanted to show that i was human haha. BEST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!

the hard rock hotel in orlando is just a fun place to be. You don't have to be cool to feel cool there. All the rock and ... roll trivia from old to new....some of it is bound to appeal to almmost anyone. The pool is a great place to hang out...whether you want to just lay there or take several dips. The pool is comfortable, there are activities and entertainment, and the cafe/bar serves up some yummy stuff poolside. The rooms are very comfortable and they even give you cool stuff (a CD of cool tunes). I stay here whenever I can....tis one of my favorite places!!!!

If you are going to the theme parks and City Walk - it is the best place to stay for families. The hotel has lots of ... kid-friendly activities - the pool and slide is fun. It is walking distance to both theme parks and City Walk. The best part is the unlimited Express Pass you receive by staying there. We did not waste our day standing in lines for the attractions.

We had requested that a roll away be in the room when we arrvie as we had a late arrival. The bed was not there. It took them ... over an hour to get it there. They brought a small refrigerator (which was also to have been in the room upon arrival per several phone calls), the refrigeratot took more than an hour, then it made horrible noises, and they had to send another one.

Staffing
Eileen Jan 5, 2009
(This all could have been because of the time of the year and lack of staff) The check in line was about 20 minutes. We ... requested a crib ahead of time and at the desk too yet the crib took over 3 hours to get to the room well after 11pm at night. We also had to request a fridge that took an extremely long time to get delivered for my infant's medicine. On a regular day we probably would have blown a gasket but because of checking in on the 1st we chalked it up to lack of staffing but still it's worth mentioning since you are paying good money to stay there. Also, we stayed there for 4 nights and housekeeping only came once. The waiters and the boat captains were all extremely nice and enjoyable.

Very friendly staff - but overpriced
Lori Jun 19, 2007
If I was just paying for the service of the staff, that would be one thing. They were fantastic! However, overall I felt the ... Hard Rock Hotel was overpriced and not really what I expected. Young kids were loud running up and down the halls, the pool area when we went to go closed due to thunder, thus leaving essentially nothing to do but go back to the room. The game room was packed wall to wall, there were lines for the pool tables and the poolside movie made no sense if we were experiencing thunder and lightening (no rain however) and Back to the Future - basically who has not seen that at least a dozen times! I think next time we go, we will stay somewhere else to get a better value for our money.

this is why i really love the hard rock hotel, it is about a five minute walk to CITYWALK, UNIVERSAL, ISLAND OF ADVENTURE. if you did not want to walk back to the hotel, WATER TAXI (beautiful scenery on the lake, cool and refreshng, relaxing)is available, or the bike ride(like buggy) that would take back to the hotel
