We were in town for the weekend to attend a wedding. The hotel was a great value for the location, compared to other hotels ... in the area. We were close to the festivities. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and nicely appointed. However, the room was a smaller than we expected.

Excellent hotel - great location!
KateKrueger Sep 29, 2009
Found this hotel after an extensive search in the DC area. This was our first trip - picked this Marriott for its rate and ... location near Metro. Room was a good size for 2 adults and 1 child (9). Visited the last week of June/first week of July. Suppose it's due to location between the buildings but the pool was FREEZING. As in completely uninhabitable. That was a disappointment. Our room did not come with a fridge or microwave but hotel staff brought a small fridge to our room and there's a microwave for use in the lobby. Overall, the hotel was great. But things I wish I'd known: - The Metro is a little further away than it looks online or as advertised by the hotel. It's not a bad walk but going from DuPont to the Marriott is uphill part of the way. Can be challenging with luggage. - Do NOT get off at the Zoo stop and walk down. It is farther than it looks. Pretty walk but longer than the DuPont station. - If you want to pick up some basics, there are no grocery stores anywhere nearby. But there is a Rite Aid across the street and one block down towards DuPont Circle. It's hard to see b/c of the style of sign but it's a very well stocked store. We bought milk and bottles of water and Gatorade to save some $$ and it worked out really well. - This is a great area to eat. Our favorite was Alero (Mexican) but there's a lot of variety here. - Probably best to avoid DuPont Circle park after nightfall. Wasn't too bad but... I would absolutely stay here again - great location, easy to get to the Metro and get around, neighborhood felt safe in general.

Check out all the restaurants on this street between DuPont station and the hotel. Costs a little bit but really good food and quaint atmosphere. The lasagna at Cafe Odeon is AMAZING. And Alero's Mexican is fantastic.

Surprisingly nice stay...

Perfect location and close to restaurants. In a city not known for customer service, I found this hotel to be quite good. ... Very friendly staff and only wished the bar would open earlier than 5pm. The staff went out of their way to help me with any questions regarding restaurants, churches and safe areas to visit at night.

Wonderful weekend for two

We stayed at this Courtyard Marriott to attend a wedding. We got there easily via the Metro, checked in, and then walked ... down the street to Restaurant Nora, where we had one of the best meals ever. I needed to check an email, which I could do easily in the Business Center. The hotel is in a great location: near the Metro, as I suggested above, restaurants, galleries, even a health club if you don't like the fitness center. If you don't want to take the Metro, there are cabs nearby. Since we departed pretty early, we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, which was wonderful. There was a hot and cold buffet, in addition to a la carte items. The food was great and not overpriced. And we were able to leave in plenty of time to catch our flight. We got a great deal through Orbitz for the flight and the hotel. There are plenty of places to stay in DC, but this is a great value for the money. Plenty of amenities without a lot of extra charges. Convenience. And, great service to boot. We would definitely return to this hotel.

The Courtyard Marriott @ 1900 Connecticut ave was an excellent choice. The staff was very respectful and the room comfort was ... equally satisfactory. The location is perfect for those who like to roam the cities for restaurants and bars. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends for their next visit to DC.
