Service at the Oriental Restaurant comes from its own kitchen, which acts as a satellite of the main kitchen which it is interconnected. This Restaurant only offers a la carte service with typical oriental cuisine dishes.
Serving fresh baked pizzas by the sea.
This bar has a unique design with furniture and decoration which make it very welcoming, complemented by some graphic and artistic elements linking it with jazz culture. [...] Beach was lovely until the 3rd day when most of it was closed off, not sure why. Lovely pools, very good poolside ... service and lunch restaurant. Food in Cancun is fabulous. You must visit La Habichuela, Gustino's (in the Marriott) and Laguna Grill, also El Shrimp Bucket. Bottom line on this hotel: while every room has an ocean view, insist on the Premiere Tower - it's newer and has rainfall shower, 2 sinks, and is directly on the beach with lovely views. Desk service is average - food and drink service is very good. If you do, check on the construction update. You will not want to go at this point in time, if you can choose another hotel!

El Habichuela - downtown Cancun Laguna Grill, El Shrimp Bucket, Gustino's - all in the hotel zone - you can take the bus to any of these for 15 pesos for 2 people! Nightlife is tough - we tried the Frommers recommended wine bar inside Casa Rolandi's, but found it smoky and glasses are overpriced. I got about 1/3 of a glass of wine for $10. My fiance and I go out often to wine bars or jazz clubs and this place was subpar. The one jazz club was music-less while we were there, due to a jazz festival elsewhere in Mexico which drew the musicians away. If you're over 50, as we are, it can be challenging finding interesting nightlife that doesn't consist of Senor Frog's or Margaritaville.

Good place to stay

The staff was vert friendly and helpful. [...] the hotel is undergoing a heavy remodelling. The first room we got was just ... steps away from the main cunstruction site and even though the ocean view was great it was too noisy. Workers started before 8AM and worked till approx. 10PM. After talking to the manager we got a higer quality room in another building directly at the beach with the waves behind the window and a gorgeous view over the Atlantic. November is a good time to go to Mexico. The main tourist season is over and it's easier to travel around.Unfortunately this is also the time when the most hotels start to work on improvements/constructions that may disturb your vacation.

If you want real Mexican food and want to pay less (all the restaurants in the Zona Hotelera have US-like prices or even higher) take a cab or a rental car and go to Cancun Downtown (city) and have a look at Av Tulum and Av Yaxchilan, and also Parque de Las Palapas. Mexican snacks and sweets, close proximity to a lot of shops and super markets (e.g. right at the corner Av Coba/Av Tulum or Av Uxmal/Av Tulum).

Nice clean Hotel
Claire Nov 6, 2009
Like other reviewers, I thought this hotel was a good value for what you get. You get some of the big time Cancun hotel ... experience, but the price is right. The location and beach were very nice, as was the newer remodeled pool. We were upgraded to the new tower, and the room was nice enough, with a good sized bathroom, balcony and ocean view. I believe the entire older tower was unoccupied and closed down when we were there, so I guess that everyone gets "upgraded" to the newer tower. It was pretty quiet when we were there, with not very many guests, so if you are looking for nightlife and action, this would not be the place for you. We were only staying for one night with our three year old, so this was perfect for us. We ate two meals at the buffet - it was fine, but nothing special (breakfast was better than dinner though!) The ice cream and sandwiches from the small cafe were pretty good. If we'd been there longer we would have bought water and other items somewhere else and brought them in (even though they tell you not to and make you sign a paper saying you won't!) since the drinks and bottles of water were a bit pricey. I'm sure it's the same at all the bigger hotels however. If you get the deal with the 15% discount on drinks and food, make sure they have it in the computer at the front desk, since we had some problems with that. You also have to remind them every time about the discount before you ask for the check. Overall it was a good experience, and was nice for the price. The beach and the newer pool with large bed style cabanas that you can use for free was probably the best part. Having the balcony and ocean view from all rooms is also a plus. If you're not looking for a party scene and are on a budget, this is the place for you.

Experienced Traveller Oct 22, 2009
The only bad thing about the hotel was its restaurants. The pricing was too expensive for mere medicore food. Other than ... that, the hotel was excellent! The multi lingual staff was helpful. There are 3 pools to choose from that offer comfortable drink and reclining ammenities. And the beach was extemely relaxing with a tremendous view of the Mexican Carribean. The hotel is only a safe, 15 minute walk from popular shops & restaruants. It is a 15 minute bus ride to El Embarcedaro (ferries to Isla Mujeres), and a 20 minute shuttle from to/from CUN airport. There are no problems at night and its safe for women to walk to/from any hotel in the evening. A fantastic Italian & Seafood eatery is across the street and great for a romantic evening for two!

The best way to get around the hotel zone is by bus! Forget the taxi!! Even for an American tourists who usually dont take buses back in the states, taking the bus in CUN is TOO EASY to navigate! Its 15pesos for two people, each ride. You dont even have to bother looking at bus maps, schedules or route numbers. All buses serving the hotel zone serve all hotels and shops (including El Embarcadero) every 7-10 minutes all day/night long. Sorry backpackers, there is no public transport to/from CUN airport. The best way for getting to/from CUN is prebooking a shuttle. It is 30usd r/t per person. This is much cheap than taking a taxi which is 30usd p/p each way. Save the taxi after you've had a long, fulfilling dinner and are too exhausted to take the bus.

We booked this hotel to have our Destination Wedding. We had to depend only on reviews such as this to plan our ... "wedding-moon" and I was very skeptical and nervous about planning our wedding on line. And I'm happy to say it doesn't get any better than this! Cecelia Garcia was our wedding coordinator and she went above and beyond to make sure our day was Perfect. The whole vacation including the wedding plans and ceremony was absolute PERFECTION!! It is the Cleanest hotel i have ever been in, and the service was beyond incredible! The pool had the poolside beds, swim up bar and lounge chairs in the water to keep cool. The beach was gorgeous and waiters came down to serve you. The location of the hotel was right near all the night life and shopping markets. This is a FIVE star hotel for less than 5 star money!! This is the best vacation and location we have been to so far :)

I went with my gf and we stayed there for 6 nights. The view is SUPER! All rooms includes private balconey, it is right at ... the shore so every day and night I can see the beautiful Carribian Ocean, at night when I sleep I can hear the peaceful wave sound, it does not get better than this! What a super getaway! Other than that, the pool is nice, with a swim up bar, drinks price are acceptable. The shower is awesome, bed is firm but comfy. Overall the room is very clean. I love it! The only set back is you cannot eat or drink in the room, but restaurants and bars are just minute walk from the hotel so we do not care! I will definitely stay again in the future!

The hotel room was beautiful and clean with a great view of the ocean which was about twenty yards from the building my room ... was in. The beach was secluded and very well maintained. The breakfast and dinner buffet at the hotel restaurant was reasonably priced, with fresh, well prepared food. The bar drinks were great but overpriced, especially the bottled water. Overall this hotel is an excellent value with very good customer service and although the public spaces are not on a grand scale, the rooms and beach at this property are better than those of nearby hotels that I have stayed in that were three times the price.

Outstanding service, outstanding hotel. Quiet, peaceful vacation (my second time staying here). Everything was ... exceptional....except for the hot rooms. The rooms remained 75 degrees, with the humidity in the area my Asthma acted up a bit. Even though the hotel guide says the rooms are individually controlled, they are not. When I complained they lowered it to 74. Would I stay there again? YOU BET!!

the hotel was really nice as well as the people that work there. It was very clean. The food at the restaurants was good ... dinner a little pricy. From check in to check out the staff was friendly and professional. Easy beach access with drink service was great, even had ... a lifeguard looking over the swimmers. Beach was great and not crowded. Two big pools made some one splashing water on your face unlikely. Pool and the entire property were well maintained. Decent cafe but the buffet needs some more choices. I do not make it a point on using the hotel gift shops but this one actually had the lowest prices around on the items they sold, just as advertised. Location is a good compromise for those who want to be close but not too close to the nightlife. Property was walking distance to restaurants/shopping and short bus ride to additional nightlife and restaurants/shopping. Overall: Decent deal, clean, great rooms, friendly staff.

We were in Cancun for a diving vacation but we found out that cancuns reef is a bit unhealthy and there is a current but we dove Cozumel too and it was so amazing. We dove with scuba cancun and they were great take a taxi its about $13. The hotel is in a great location 10 min to either mall and about a 20 min walk to Chocolatecity which has great food for less $$. Other places to eat, Hacienda Sisal, Carlos & Charlies which next to hard rock cancun, there is a mexican resturant in Luxury Avenue where Choc city is and its good and inexpensive($6-$8. The beach is great at the hotel you can walk out forever and the waves were really kid friendly. Dont forget to go to senior frogs and your kids are wecome to come in and get in the conga line and bust a move which was fun( we didn't have our kid but I saw other kids there).
