Beautiful room. We had a great time. The only down sides were: Rooms that you get are beside the pool. (since this is a ... time share) Heard people singing Karaoke till late. Also, they made us sit in on a time share presentation.

The prices at the time share are very expensive. There is a small fridge, a stove top, microwave/convention oven, and all the cooking/eating utensils that you need in each room. Super Walmart is a short drive. Go grocery shopping and get what you need.

This is the fifth year running that we have stayed at Orange Lake. This year we were in the West Village in a newly renovated ... 2 bedroom unit on the 4th floor. Not as big as the units in the East village and the jacuzzi tub was much smaller. We missed having the walk in shower. The rooms were not as spotless as they have been in the past, but still nice. River Island pool and the North Village pool area are nice. The West Village pool has been newly renovated and is nice for kids. As far as value. The price we paid was good, not the lowest available, [...] I wish I had waited because the price went down several times after I booked. Vacancy wasn't a concern, they always seem to have units open during the weeks we travel (between Halloween & Veterans Day). The location is convenient. Easy access to all the Disney Parks and Sea World. The airport is about a 30 minute ride away. Property is on a major route (192 West)but set far back so you don't feel that you are in the city. All in all a great trip. We will most likely return again next year.

Our stay was wonderfull. The only thing I didn't expect was having to pay for cleaning & towel services. However, we didn't ... use those services since we had the washer and dryer outside our room at no additional cost so that was really great.

2 bedrrom villa, great resort
Very Pleased! Nov 1, 2009
For our family vacation to Disney, we were looking for a 2 bedroom suite to allow us to stay up after putting our 5 and 8 ... year old to bed. Friends recommended Orange lake condos because they stay their every year, and sometimes don't even leave the resort. The resort boarders Disney, so the location is perfect. Only 15 minutes to Disney, 25 minutes to Sea World, and less than 60 minutes to Busch Gardens. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Holiday Inn rents 2 bedroomm (1300sqft) villas on Orange lake [...] It turns out that Orange Lake is a 1400acre resort created by the founders of Holiday Inn. We only got to spend 1 day at the resort, but the lazy river, pool side bars and food were great. The staff was very friendly, on par with Disney staff. My only complaint is that we did the time share tour, and it took 3hrs instead of the advertised 90 minutes. Recommend skipping the timeshare or communicate up front that you will be leaving after exactly 90 minutes.

Unhappy guest! Oct 26, 2009
When we arrived on Friday Oct 23rd the person behind the counter that helped us not only was not very friendly but didn't ... even explained where the room was even after we asked him, we spent over 40 mins looking for the building. When we finally arrived to the room it was a basement room next to the laundry facility where the smell was horrible. In order to get to the room we had to cross three different sets of doors. We had to go back to the registration building to switch rooms. There was no information at all that in order for housekeeping to make the room previous arrangements had to be done. We had no clean towels until we called and they finally arrived about an hour later. We only saw the housekeeping people on the day we were checking out and they knocked on the door at 8:00am!!! Will never stay at this Resort again since SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND STAFF IS SO UNFRIENDLY AND NOT WILLING TO HELP!!!

Not for those wanting to be undisturbed
Frequent Flyer Oct 20, 2009
Beautiful country club setting, off the tourist routes, but they really push to sell the condos, timeshares, or whatever. It ... didn't feel like going to "a nice hotel for the weekend." If you want to rent a nice place for a week or more, this is not a bad choice with en suite kitchen fully equipped and washer/dryer. If you need an elevator, tell them, because some units are not wheelchair accessible. Beautiful floor-plan in the unit we had. You had to drive to restaurants, pool, etc. Grounds are huge. Kids and younger ones could walk. Shuttles available.

Definitely not a four star place
paul Oct 18, 2009
The hotel was rated at 4 stars but was missing all the 4 star quality. At check-in you are asked if you are interested in ... attending a timeshare presentation and when you say that you're not interested they ask you why, as though "not interested" was not enough. There is NO daily housekeeping, unless you stay 10+ days or pay $45 extra. NO daily towel service unless you want to pay and extra$7. Not to mention that the towels felt like sandpaper. No shampoo in the room, I had to run out and grab some from a store. The place was also difficult to find, and I had my iphone gps and am familiar with the Orlando area. I tried to call the hotel to ask for directions but was on hold for at least 5 minutes in which I managed to miss all the right exits. The pool looked nice, but was very far away on campus from where I stayed. I would have to get in a car and drive there. I was very disappointed with my stay at this place and would not recommend this place to anyone. I was willing to go further from all the attractions to have a reasonable price for a better star rating, but ended up with poor quality and a terrible location. Spend an extra $20 and stay somewhere closer and save yourself a headache.

Great Value
Arod1981 Oct 16, 2009
This place had a great location, just a couple miles from Disney World, local night life, golf and much more just outside the ... resort. For the price, it was a great deal. Within the resort, there are four golf courses, plenty of restaurants, pools, and additional entertainment. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. There were however two quirks of this resort which may or may not be a big deal to some. One is that they would not leave you alone in regards to hearing about there time shares available. If you just ignore them, unplug your phone or say no outright, it's not that big of a inconvenience. The second is that they do not accept cash. Supposedly this was something new they were trying, however we were not informed of this before hand. You could either use a debit/credit card or use your room card in order to purchase anything on the resort. Once you checked out, you would settle up at the counter. My brother and I went, and was somewhat troubling because everything that was charged to the room which put on my credit card used to book the trip. It was a small nuisance but not too huge of a deal. Overall, this is an excellent place to stay if you can ignore these two things. I enjoyed myself and would stay there again if in the area.

My experience
Joe Oct 15, 2009
When I got my room, I walked in and all of the curtains were laying in the floor. I thought they must of forgot to hang them ... back up so I unpacked and had dinner in the room. I called maintenance at 10:00pm and they informed me I could not stay there. It took the an hour to find me another room and then another hour to bring me the room keys. I had to pack up all of my stuff and move at 12:00 at night. The next morning the maintenance guy called me at 8:30am in my new room telling me they needed to come in the room and reset the router because others were not getting internet. For some reason the router was in our room behind the bedroom dresser! The following morning the cleaning lady was knocking at my door at 8:00am to tell me that check out time was 10:00am. I like the place but all of the inconveniences made the mornings rough. I wanted to share this rewiew so others can see what your morning might be like.

The resort was wonderful, there was a lot to do that you dont really have to leave. We enjoyed the different pools and ... restaraunts. It was the perfect little family getaway for the price. The only issue i had was at check in the lady was insisting we take a 90 minute tour which is for the purpose of trying to get you to do timeshare there and i had to keep telling her i wasnt interested then she dropped it.

The walls of the rooms were somewhat thin when you stayed next to a noisey family but most of the time it was quiet.

This resort was awesome. Yes they do ask you about timeshares when you first arrive but be polite and decline and the rest of ... the stay they will be out of your hair. The resort is HUGE! There is something for everyone there. My wife and I stayed in a 2 bedroom villa that was very clean, large, and peaceful. It had a amazing view of the lake straight from the master bedroom. It is not far at all from Disney and only 20min or so from Universal. The resort is pretty much it's own town.
