The staff was very helpful and friendly in dealing with a few odd requests that I had. The room was large and reasonably ... clean, but that "old crummy place" smell. The free wifi (while not very fast) was appreciated, but the only modern power outlet was in the bathroom. The rest were only two pronged and were so loose that my macbook's power brick wouldn't stay in without being held by a chair. It feel out several times and the sparking singed the prongs of the power brick, though it still works fine. I also didn't realize pets were allowed in the hotel, and was rudely informed by a small dog barking for about 20 minutes. Thankfully it stopped and didn't resume again during my one-night stay.

'fantastic family getaway'
sis Aug 2, 2009
We felt this hotel was a good bargin for the $ & it was an excellent location with all the shops & food places with-in ... walking distance, the rooms were a little on the small side (3 adults & 1 child) & the bathroom was super tiny & the beds were supposed to be queen size, but they looked a lot smaller, staff was very friendly, room was clean, but had a funny smell in hallway. Over all I would stay again & recommend it.

I have been stopping here every couple of years for almost twenty years. I always look for better deal, but it is ... consistantly the best balance of price and value. There are lots of convenient shopping, entertainment, and eating options, but the area seems to be commercially overdeveloped.

"More than I expected"
The HBIC Jun 25, 2009
I stayed at La Quinta because I had to get up very early the next day to go to the University of Illinois. I was shocked with ... how cheap the price was and found out when i got there that breakfast was included! I honestly thought the place would be kind of unpleasant because of the price but it was very nice and clean!

Unfortunately my stay was unsatisfactory on the last evening. I was all nestled in to watch an HBO movie and it wouldn't go ... on. I called the front desk of which didn't answer after I left it ring for awhile...I called again and the staff man answered and told me I would have to come downstairs to the desk to give him my credit card number. I asked if I could give it to him over the phone and he said no. My room was paid in full with Pay Pal s I really think this could have been handled in a much better manner. Thank You

Great for the price!
Rick & Kate Jun 17, 2009
We had a quick stopover on a two-day drive, so didn't have time to enjoy the amenities. Room was very clean and ... well-appointed. We have stayed in much more expensive hotels with much less. There were several chairs as well as a desk and wireless internet. We even had a refrigerator, a life-saver when we're on the road. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only negative was other guests hanging around entrances smoking and using cell phones. Maybe they need a place to go to do these activities. On the whole, a very good experience.

Great shopping in this area as well as lots of eating places. Things tend to close up by 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. so try to arrive before then.

We stayed here on our way to take our daughter to college and arrived very late at night. We found the staff very helpful and ... the room quite comfortable except for the pillows. They were flat.
