Our destination was Newport, and we found the location of the inn to be very convenient. The inn has a charm that even the ... nicest hotel chains cannot offer, while having the amenities of a first rate hotel. We enjoyed our stay and if vacationing in area again, I would be happy to return to the Carriage House.

The Carriage House Inn was lovely, a nice big room, spotless. The staff was very helpful in recommending places to dine. I ... left my cell phone charger there when I left, they got it back to me quickly. It was a great experience, I would definately stay there again.

I recommend this place, the hotel is cute, rooms spacy and clean, personnel friendly. I would have liked the breakfast a bit ... better, some food that is not sweet.

The room was large, high-ceilinged, and very attractive. After checking into the room, we received a call inquiring if ... anything was needed. Tea and coffee are always available in the lobby. The rooms were very well appointed. A complimentary computer and printer were available in a public area.

Good location but..

It is a nice hotel overall..but why cutting corners on the complimentary breakfast? for 3 stars hotels I would expect to have ... bread or bagels with at least one(!) selection of fruit. The coffee is always fresh though, so are the muffins and cakes.

Pleasantly surprised at how nice it is! Not much to look at from the outside, but don't be fooled. it fits right into the ... Newport neigborhood. Staff very friendly!

Closer Than You Think

Excellent proximity to downtown Newport and easy access to many of the vineyards. We found the room (#21 Front) to be small ... but comfortable. I should mention that the cost per evening was significantly less than rooms in town. Our objection was the street noise. Sewer construction one day - very early. Heavy truck traffic and one exuberant biker in the hood. Coupled with a slamming door at 5:30 one of the mornings. In town, the noise level is quite similar. The service provided and the genuiness of the staff helped to overcome some of this discomfort.

Try Tucker's. It's in between Middletown and Newport, just a short distance from the Carriage House Inn. Tucker himself is serving and ready to share a good story. Enjoy

Drove to first Newport beach. Don't pay $20 for parking, drive up the hill park in neighborhoods for free street parking. ... Quick drive or 1.5 mile walk to Harbor area with restaurants.
