Great with Kids
DeVineCopy Nov 22, 2009
I've stayed in this hotel five times or so, this is the first time with kids. They loved the pool, and the location is ... superb. We walked to see the movie at El Capitan Theater, had dinner in the Disney Soda Fountain room, and walked around looking at all the stars on the sidewalks. Parents should be prepared that this isn't the most wholesome neighborhood - women in scanty costumes, lots of stores selling black leather biker and SM garb, sexy lingerie, bongs, etc. But it's a kick for an afternoon, with the Wax Museum and Ripley's Museum also within walking distance.

Great Hotel and fantastic location
John Oct 23, 2009
The moment I arrived at the hotel the staff were very pleasant. I was confused about the parking structure and the hotel ... staff answered all my questions professionally and friendly. Plus once I checked in they were very formal with saying my last name and made you feel special.

Right on the corner of Hollywood and Highland lots of shops in the mezzanine and very short walk to major hollywood landmarks.

Great hotel, location and package!
Mike, aspiring world class traveler! Oct 21, 2009
I was in L.A. for an art show. Because I've been to L.A. previously, I knew the location was going to be just what I needed, ... I just didn't know if the hotel would meet my expectations. The hotel was great, I loved the decor of the lobby and the rooms and I loved the down comforters and pillows. I can honestly say I was very comfortable and felt like I was at home. I looked forward to going back to the hotel to rest and relax after being out all day. I was also extremely pleased to find Aveda products in the bath room, especially the moisturizer!

Fine for the area
Biker Guy Oct 4, 2009
Expensive but not extremely so considering the area. Staff was friendly. Room was fine. They charged $14 per day for ... Internet. It was nice that the hotel is very close to the subway stop on Hollywood Blvd so you don't need a car. Decent food is also within walking distance and there is a grocer close by on Hollywood Blvd so you can buy healthy fruits & veggies if you don't want to eat restaurant food while you travel.

Great Hotel
Very selective. Sep 30, 2009
This was my third trip to California due to a family emergency and my stay was wonderful. This is a great location for ... tourists. There is so much to do and see in this area plus the metro is a block away. One metro stop away from Universal. The only bad thing is that there was not a mini regierator in my room. Not sure if you needed to request it. But other than that the hotel is beautiful, huge and connected to the highland mall. Really , really nice.
Traveler type: Family
Just in general always research and plan ahead of time to get the best deals from hotel to airfare. Also the musuems, like the wax and Ripley have less people at night. Its really fun to go with a group at night. They stay open till 12:00pm. Not suggesting you go that late but depending on the season 6 to 9 would be fun.

My first time traveling to LA to see Hollywood and take a little time off for leisure. This hotel is about 5 minutes drive ... to Universal Studios, right next to Hollywood Blvd, and really close the Melrose, Sunset, and Santa Monica blvd. Excellent location for travelers going to Hollywood.

The Hotel is adjacent to The Highland Center without the overflow crowd, it's around the corner from The Walk of Fame, ... Chinese Theater, the Metro, and it sits on top of a clean municiple parking facility. Can't beat that.

I stayed in Hollywood as a typical tourist and the location of the hotel was more than perfect. Accessible to everything ... including the metro which allowed me to go to Santa Monica pier, Griffith Park and downtown LA. Wish there was a mini fridge to hold snacks.

SMARTY Apr 22, 2009
It is our second stay at this hotel. We came back because it's a great location. Tourist attractions such as the Chinese ... Grauman Theatre are around the corner. An outdoor mall links directly to the hotel, with tons of stores and restaurants. Great view of the Hollywood sign. Valet parking expensive at $29.00 a day but you can park your car yourself next door for $10.00 (you have to pay every time you take it out though but even if you do it twice a day it is still cheaper than valet). Convenient donut shop right across the street where we got croissants and coffee every morning to save on breakfast. Very close to the freeway. The traffic on Highland is nonstop but we never heard it from our room. We were 4 people in a room with 2 double beds. Good space, but we could use more drawers in the room. Had to call twice before housekeeping brought more hangers. Had trouble with the toilet, but they came right away and fixed it. The room had a lot more wear and tear than the room we stayed at last year (same hotel) but we found an unbeatable price through Orbitz so it was definitely worth it. Would recommend this hotel but will try something else next time.

The hotel was redone so it doesnt feel like an old crummy hotel, but they do nickel and dime you for everything. They ... charged me twice for my one day internet, told me they would take it off, but then I had to ask the next day. Overall, my stay was good, but I was there for a convention and not actually for hollywood.
