Luxurious?

Great location - 5 minute walk from Paddington station. The ad says it's a luxurious 3-star; it's really a basic tourist ... hotel with small rooms (even by London standards) and old, tatty carpet and furnishings. On the other hand, the staff is polite and everything worked properly. Worth staying there if you're flying into Heathrow and don't want to spend a lot.
Traveler type: Single
There are several cheap places to eat (as well as 3 grocey stores) in and around the station, so you may want to skip the hotel breakfast. Also, forget the Heathrow Express train; it's a ripoff. Take the Heathrow Connect train to Paddington - it only takes 10 min. longer and it's half the price.

I recommend the Gresham

Fantastic location - Paddington station right around the corner (easiest access to Heathrow via Heathrow Express, and on Tube ... Circle line) and several minutes walk to Hyde Park. Rooms are typically small but neat and decent bed with no creatures. Bathroom adequate. Very friendly and helpful staff. FREE WiFi access throughout the hotel. Full English breakfast for only £5. ONLY complaint (and NOT hotel's fault): I'm not a city dweller and the street noise made it difficult to get a full night's sleep. But I imagine this is the same at most hotels in London. NOTE: Checkin time was incorrectly shown by Orbitz as 12PM; it's actually 2PM but the friendly staff let me check in as soon as the room was clean, shortly after noon.

Buy a one-day ticket for the Tube, or an Oyster ticket. HUGE savings over single tickets.

Good location and price

Good location. we walked to it, with luggage, in 5 min after catching the train from Heathrow to Paddington station. We used ... the subway system, "The Tube", for transportation around the city which has a station near by. Room was tiny, as was the bath and shower, but all we wanted was a bed (which was all that would fit) so that was okay. Good, friendly, helpful, 24 hr desk service. 5 Pounds for an "English style breakfast" in their dining area. There is a small bar for guests. very basic accommodation but convenient location.

My stay at the hotel was nice and the location was central to the important places in london. The cost of services also ... pocket friendly, keep it up.

The hotel location is very prime in London and close to the station and that helps to make shopping easier.
