Excellent service at the front desk- Helped with directions , tickets and other services. The location is about a 20 minute ... walk or $15.00 cab ride from the City Center although the bus service is close and frequent. You also can get a $10.00 fare to the airport from the hotel. Our room was very nice, especially for the price. The bars in the hotel were good and stayed open late. You need to make sure that you eat before you return to the hotel as the only pub close closes at 23.00 as does food service in the hotel. I would stay at the Burlington again as it was a very enjoyable experience.

Great location, big hotel
Wheatland Sep 3, 2009
The Burlington is a large hotel catering both to the tourist trade and to business people. As such, it has spacious dining, ... drinking, lounging, and business facilities. We found our non-smoking room to be clean, quiet, and comfortable, with everything in working order. The staff was quite friendly and readily helpful. The hotel offered a free internet connection in the room, and we were also supplied with an internet cable. Our room was equipped with a 120 volt outlet for US electrical products. However the hotel did not give us an adapter for Continental to UK style plugs. There is a Dublin Bus stop right in front of the hotel, which is a great convenience. The hotel sits back a bit from the road and is located in a largely residential area, which makes for a relatively quiet atmosphere. Our room cost did not include breakfast, but we were given a discount voucher which enabled us to have the susbstantial hotel buffet breakfast for 12.75 Euros per person. We used the hotel to explore the city and surrounding area, and it proved ideal for this purpose. It would not suit someone looking to be right in the center of the city and its night life.

Very nice hotel. The lobby is very inviting with comfortable sofas. Skip the lobby coffee and the breakfast...you can get ... much cheaper and better quality irish breafast from city center. The hotel is a direct stop from the airport on the Aircoach charter bus and the retrun bus is directly across the street...convenient! The rooms were on the small side...but typical for Europe with all the necessary convenicinces. However, the mini fridge was pulled out of all the rooms years ago! The hotel is a 10 min walk to St. Stephens Green, 20 min walk to Trinity College/Tourist Info Center and 30 min walk to O'Connell St. Bridge. The city was great, the ours were fenominal (Wicklow and The Valley of the Kings). A great location for Euorpean tourinng (the city was designed for the tourist in mind!!!).

My experience was that the girls at the front desk were not accommodating, except Nimmmyth. We needed a mgr. to get the room ... problems solved. The ladies staffed at the desk seemed coy and sly. They acted as if this was all that could be done and you would just have to deal with it. Wherein you knew better and had to go to a manager especially the night mgr., [...]. Also, not all rooms were remodeled the same. One person would have a nice up-dated room and the other had the opposite. The front-door man was very knowledgable and helpful on getting us tickets for our tours and what we should see and do.

Our family vacation to Ireland ended well with the stay at Burlington. The location wasn't exactly at the main drag of town, ... but a short bus ride took us to most places. Free parking was available if we asked them to validate our ticket. The best part was simply the plush beds that we fell into each night. Great facilities with wifi were a plus as well. Definitely recommended.

The internet special rate we got was really good value for a 4 star hotel. Room, bathroom and furnishings were very nice. ... Location from city center, however, was much further than advertised. Also, gym was a nice feature for me though each of the 2 treadmills in the gym were not functioning properly, i.e. they would cut off suddenly. All said, we would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is not a four-star by American standards, but for the money it was nice. The room was just as pictured on Orbitz ... and the location was within walking distance to Dublin city centre. The hotel restaurant prices are extremely high. Even though food is expensive in Dublin, there are much better deals and quality to be had just by taking a walking outside of the hotel. The proximity of the hotel to the air coach bus stop is a life saver if you don't want to pay a taxi to get to the airport. My one big complaint is that we needed some ice for a twisted ankle. (There are no ice machines) The Front Desk referred me to Room Service which wanted to charge 6.50 euro for ice. That is ridiculous. We stayed at four other hotels while on our trip and the ankle incident happened during that time. They not only sent up ice (in a bucket), but they called back to see if there was anything else they could do. Beware: the Burlington is a very busy hotel with lots of tour groups and others as well. The lobby was almost continually noisy and very active.

Wireless internet is only available in the lobby and on select floors, but wired internet is supposed to be available in all ... rooms. Standard rooms do NOT have air conditioning. Since our internet was not working in our first room, we were upgraded to an executive room that had both wireless internet and air conditioning. Coffee and danishes were also provided for breakfast on the executive floor. It was a very comfortable room.

The hotel is a little bit of a walk from the city center. If you are planning to do a lot of sightseeing on foot, I would recommend getting a Rambler Bus Ticket to save you some time and mileage. It can get you to/from the airport as well as around town. There is a bus stop right by the hotel.

Pretty Nice Hotel
Lovely Day for a Guinness Jun 9, 2009
It's a pretty nice hotel if you want a comfortable place to stay without spending too much time at the hotel. Fitness center ... requires additional fee that we did not have included in our booking and there is no pool (of course, we knew that going in). The lobby and bar are very nice. If you like hitting the clubs, there's a new club right at the hotel. If you can avoid rooms on the east end of the hotel, that would be best - the music travels up to the vents to at least the fifth floor. Staff was more helpful than not. Nice place and somewhere I would definitely go back to, but at the right price.
Traveler type: Couples
There's a Hertz about a half an hour walk from the hotel. If you're getting in late and don't want to pay for the extra day of renting a car, I would suggest waiting until you are in Dublin and going to the Hertz. Staff was friendly. If you know how long you'll have the car for, make sure you get the Pay Ahead price and not the Pay Upon Return price. And drive carefully! :)

No need for a vehicle while staying here. Its a short walk (10-15 mins) to the shopping district and (20-30 mins)to the ... temple bar area, however after a night of drinking you may need the taxi to bring you back because you may have trouble finding your way. The food at the hotel was a little lacking for me as I am not a meat eater but for everyone else it should be just fine. They seemed to have a large selection of meat items available.

For touring, the hop on hop off tour bus that runs around the city is great. If you take the tour it lasts 1 1/2 hours total but your ticket is good for 24 hours. Barz May 10, 2009
Things didn't get off to the best start. When I made the reservation, I specifically requested an early check-in, due to the ... overnight flight (8 AM arrival) and our desire to get a bit of rest upon arrival. The person to whom I spoke on the phone ASSURED me that it would be no problem. When we got to the hotel from the airport, we were told that we wouldn't be able to check in until after lunch, despite my explaining that we had been assured of being able to do so when I called. I found that to be quite annoying. The room was quite comfortable and clean. I didn't particularly care for the location, as it was a fairly good distance from city center/Temple Bar, and next time, would probably opt for a different hotel. However, if you are looking for a quiet hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Temple Bar, The Burlington Hotel is not a bad option.

There are a number of interesting attractions located not more than a ten-minute taxi ride from the hotel and several are closer than that.
