Disappointed
Alabama alum Nov 29, 2009
The pictures were beautiful but the rooms didn't live up to our expectations. Our shower had mildew and soap scum. Due to the ... holiday weekend, the hotel was practially empty, which was nice. We attempted to eat at the restaurant (Legends) but they were out of almost everything and were not very kind. Our bed was very hard and had humps and holes in it like it had not been turned...ever. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until it received a major renovation.

Hotel Capstone review.
Rick Oct 13, 2009
Hotel in the heart of the University of Alabama campus. Our stay coincided with fall break, which left the area very quiet. ... On our last night at the hotel, students were returning, and activity was picking up substantially. Nice area, typical college town. Hotel was nice, typical hotel type rooms. Very friendly staff, very good service. Would stay at the hotel again.
Traveler type: Family
Would recommend dining at the Cypress Inn. Very nice casual type resturant, with a great view of the Black Warrior River. Food was very good, prices very reasonable.

Large family birthday celebration
Nun ya biness Sep 8, 2009
We were in town for a large birthday celebration, finding the hotel was somewhat difficult due to very little signage. The ... hotel looked very nice in the common areas, however, my room was not recently dusted and had mold in the bathroom. Great location if you are going to college ballgame. Also, after dark, the outside entrance lights were not on; I asked front desk staff twice to turn on, but they never did. The bar closed at 9:30 p.m. We had inquired about Sunday Brunch and were told they didn't offer it; however, when we went down Sunday morning, they did.

Andrew Mar 3, 2009
The location of this hotel can't be beat if you are doing anything on campus, or are just a fan of The University. The ... public areas are lovely and well maintained. The rooms are in serious need of an update, and the walls were very very thin. We could hear normal-volume conversations in the room next door.
