My stay at the hotel

I was going to an acupuncture advanced training seminar. The hotel was close to the mall making eating easier. It had a ... fitness enter so I got to work out twice on the weekend. And since i drove up from NJ it was right off the highway interstate. It wasn't such a long ways off after you got off the exit. You do have to pay a small fee to use the small gym. Good breakfast selection and a very comfortable bed.

jake Oct 16, 2009
The staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby and eating areas were nicely maintained. You could tell that the hotel was ... renovated, but still needed more work. The elevator would make unusual noises and would appear to be stuck at times. The stairwell was scary too. The rooms were spacious. We loved all the pillows!!! The double sinks were great. We saved a lot of time getting ready in the morning. It was convenient to have the restaurants attached. We wish we could have used the internet in our room. It was a good location since we were traveling in and around the Boston area, north and south.

Just OK
Rev Oct 3, 2009
Stayed here because the conference I was attending was here. Pluses included a spacious room, a shuttle van, an attached TGI ... Friday's, and it's just across the street from a mall - a very short walk (for any other motel in Braintree, I'm pretty sure you'll need a car). The staff was very friendly and the fitness center looked nice (but I didn't use it). On the other hand, the Sheraton hasn't been remodelled in awhile, so the furniture, carpeting, wallpaper, etc. all look pretty beat up and stained. I had to clean several places in my room that were insufficiently cleaned, and they didn't vacuum the hallway at any point during my three-night stay. They also don't clean the public restrooms very often. Breakfast is about $20 per person. Overall, this is a two-diamond hotel at best, and they have a lot of nerve asking for as much money as they do for rooms, given that. [...]

The mall across the street features everything from sit-down restaurants (that were good) to a food court. And if you want a bottle of soda or a snack, visit the Mobil station - don't buy it in the vending machines or Sheraton store unless you want to overpay a great deal.

Bruce Sep 24, 2009
The room was non - smoking which would not have mattered since it still had the smell that would never come out. The ... elevators took forever to get up and down and the room service was so overpriced. You have to go out to eat or get anything. A bowl of cereal was $17.00 plus $3.00 for delivery and 19% gratuity. The bed was uncomfortable and the shower was old and nasty. It will not be a place I will be revisiting again.

Michael Sep 14, 2009
We were in the Boston area on business and needed to use our hotel room as a meeting place. We chose this hotel because the ... description on Orbitz said the rooms had a large work area. When we arrived we found that the large work area was nothing more than a large desk. On contacting the hotel staff and telling them our problem they moved us to a business suite at no extra charge. The hotel has a TGI Fridays attached and there are other nice restaurants just across the street at a large shopping mall. Its close to downtown Boston, about 15 min away. The staff was fantastic. If we have occasion to visit the Boston area again the Sheraton Braintree will be the first place we check out.

My choice of the hotel was affected by: 1. Location - we were planning to split our time between Boston and Cape Cod beaches ... - hence the choice - South of Boston, but within reach to both points of interest. Complimentary shuttle service to local subway system makes it easy to visit Boston or Cambridge. Hour and a half drive to the choice of beaches was reasonable. 2. Price was unbeatable for that class of hotel at the moment of booking. 3. Hotel looked good on the photo - it's got charm. It looks even better in live. Real live observations: 1. Stuff is going out of their way to please the guests. When we missed the shuttle, they called a taxi and paid a fair. 2. Gas station is right next to the hotel. 3. Shopping mall including food court is across the street. 4. The weather was great too.
Traveler type: Family
If you stay longer then one day and consider using local subway, it may worth buying a one-week pass. At the time it was $15 compare to $2 for a single ride.

Jersey Gril Aug 20, 2009
This hotel was close to the city and pretty affordable. However, the rooms were small, the bathroom needs renovating, there's ... mold on the ceiling and not very clean. They had an outdoor and indoor pool. But at 8:00 they close the outdoor pool, and because there are too many people the indoor pool (which is small) becomes crowded. I saw that about 80% of the people there were not hotel quests, this hotel opens the pool to the public for a fee. Overall, if you don't care about the pool, it an ok hotel for its price.

Summer Traveler Aug 17, 2009
This was not a bad hotel. It did take 45 minutes to get to Boston on the T so that took a lot of our time. The shuttle was ... great on time and friendly drivers. the Hotle itself was fare. The restaraunt was very over priced. I would have like a small continental breakfast. Nothing at all was offered so if you want to spend$9.00 on oatmeal you can stay and order. It was clean and the staff was friendly. It is an older hotel and could use some perking up but I did not leave disappointed.

Great location - close to the "T" and local restaurants as we spent most days in Boston and came back late in the day for ... dining near the hotel. Two areas of concern: 1.) the outdoor pool was very poorly maintained. The water was murky and my daughter couldn't find her pool toys even when using her goggles. I encountered several starnds of human hair while in the pool. Needless to say we used the pool only once in our 6 day stay. 2.) our flight was cancelled on our way into Boston for mechanical reasons. We were unable to find any other flight options and had to travel the next day. The hotel was completely unwilling to work with us in regards to a refund for the night we missed. We called them to explain that it was out of our control and they took the stance that the room was ready as promised and therefore we had to pay.

Kristy's restaurant in Braintree is a quaint little breakfast eatery. It sure beat the $18.00 breakfast buffet in the hotel.
