Felix gave us fantastic service. Gave us each one of their wonderful, warm cookies! Great room with a gorgeous view. The bed ... was sooo comfortable. Had a great nights sleep. I wish I could have brought it home with me. We just wish the restaurant had been open the night we were there. It is closed on Friday!! Go figure! We did find a great restaurant just down the street in the Westin. The Fire & Oak...Had a wonderful Filet Mignon dinner. I highly recommend this fabulous establishment!

Be prepared to look elsewhere for something to eat if you are there on Friday.

Great room but hotel has a few issues...
Big Apple Visitor Oct 13, 2009
First the good news... The room far surpassed what I had expected. It was generously sized and structured more like a suite ... than just a plain room. The front desk staff was extremely attentive and very helpful when answering questions. Unfortunately... The lot next to the hotel is under construction. Apparently the construction workers do not get long weekends. To our surprise, we found this out somewhat early in the morning. The construction also obstructs pedestrians from using the sidewalk en route to the PATH station. This hotel does not have a pool, while other hotels in the area do. The vending machines were out of order, internet access in the room costs $12 a day (but free wireless in the lobby), and the bed was EXTREMELY soft. In spite of the few shortcomings, this was an overall positive experience. If I can't find something in Manhattan, I would stay there again.

Doubletree Hotel Jersey City
recent New York/New Jersey traveler Aug 15, 2009
The hotel was very nice and the staff very polite and helpful. I can't really comment on the fitness center or resteraunt as ... it was a quick trip for us and we kept busy in New York. It was a short walk to the PATH train which can take you straight into Manhatten for a very minimal cost. Hotel staff parks your car for you when you arrive, which is nice, but costs an additional $20 a night. Also, there is some noise from construction next door. We were up early while we were there anyway, so this didn't bother us too much, but might have if we were trying to have more of a restful stay.

"Wonderful weekend getaway"
D.I.V.A. Amazi May 26, 2009
The hotel experience we had was one of the best. From the time we stepped foot in the hotel we were given a warm welcome and ... friendly service. I also think the warm cookies given to each guest once they check in is a very nice touch. Once we got up into the room I was taken aback, with all the amenities as well as the size of the room for the price. Thd only negative side was the construction going on, but they apologized numerous time with signs as well as online letting people know sorry for the inconvenience. The location was superb. Right across from the Newport Mall and the PATH train, and right next to the lightrail. This was one of the best little getaways I've had in a long time and we will definitely be back there. I would also like to put a little side note to the gentleman at the front desk named [...]. He is by far one of the friendliest people I have met. Whenever he was at the desk he greated us with a smile, gave us small talk and took the time to tell us about some of the sites. He deserves and award for the customer service that he gives because I know some of the people that come in the hotel probably are not as easy going as we were, yet his smile never left.

This hotel was great. Although, we were visiting New York, this was a great place to stay. Across the Hudson from Manhattan ... with great views of the city. NJ light rail system right behind the hotel and 2 blocks from the PATH system into NY. This made getting around very easy without the car. This hotel was very clean and the staff was more than helpful for a first time tourist. I highly recommend this hotel. We loved it.
