I've stayed in 5 different hotels all over Manhattan. This one by far has been my best experience. Comfortable beds, nice ... decor, very clean, good bathrooms, even the small rooms are very roomy for New York, and how can you go wrong with complimentary continental breakfast and complimentary wine & cheese?

This hotel is perfect location for mid-town activities. Good cont. brkfst, before dinner wine and cheese, daily newspapers, ... friendly staff. Wish they offered rooms with two beds... and possibly softer mattress....but everything they do offer is top knotch.

If you are there during the week and want to go to the theater but are unsure what show, walk to Times Square and try for last minute tickets. We were handed a flier for 50% off of a show we had considered seeing and really enjoyed it at much lower a cost than had we booked in advance. However if it's the weekend during a peak season, I might not take that chance.

Take a taxi to the hotel. No need to hire car service that's the same price. Taxis are clean and easily accessible all over the city. No reservations needed.

We loved the delicious breakfasts and Wine and Cheese hours in the reading room. It was fun to be able to pick out which ... Dewey Decimal system room we wanted -- the staff was very accommodating.

Great hotel and fab location!

It was a great location, as we were going to the theater and it was a close walk to Times Square. It had a wonderful theme, ... with all the books and so on and the rooms were lovely. We were there for our anniversary and all of the desk staff wished us a happy anniversary and even left us a bottle of champagne and glasses in the room with a nice note. The roof bar was great, the continental breakfast was perfect even had espresso. I'd stay here again without a hesitation and recommend it to any friend.

The overall theme of the hotel was so clever and cute. Each room had its own library theme, including the books to match. The ... staff was hospitable and sharp. The hotel was five star, but didn't feel too modern to the point where it was impersonal--it still had that quaint feeling. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because I accidentally lifted the shower drain and there was hair in there, which totally grossed me out.

Overall nice hote, but a little pricey for the size of the room. Also, elevators were broken at two different times and had ... to walk up three flights of stairs.
