good place, perfect location, but i guess it would be better if the reception guy could be more helpful and smily(no ... introduction about the hotel, go and figure out by yourself),i got all info from the friendly security guy,i had breakfast one time from their kitchen, generally i ate at md or subway or pizza from accros the street(plaza),house keeping works good, the rooms are clean, for this price, this location and this hotel,it's perfect choice, i would defenately choose the same hotel for my next las vegas trip, but the room from the north tower, not south tower.

We got cheapest deal from [...] for this hotel, so we took it.Rooms are dirty , unpleasant, passage and rooms are stinky. I ... appreciate the housekeeping people because I think they tried their best but you can't change old, dirty and torn bedsheets. AC knobs were broken and somehow we managed to move those knowb to make it cold or hot. Bathroom is very small. TV is just for the name sake, very small and very small number of channels..Power outlets are small in number and look very non standard as my laptop and cell charger jacks kept coming off and they fit ptoprly everywhere else :)Parking is free, elevator is fast but as I said it stinks at many places in building. Casino isn't great not because we lost a lot $$ there but machines look old and ongoing repairs, rebate machines do not work and always stand line for cashiers..Also parking is difficult as people coming to freemonth st also self parking gets full many a times and valet lots are empty so be aware ;) there is free parking lot 2 blocks away if you happen to stay here.

If you choose to eat at Tony Romas just note there is a gamble on if your lobster will be rancid or not, and they dont want to give any refunds for having to spit out your food.

The rooms weren't the cleanest. The shower walls kinda had a little something growing on them. The smoke detecter battery ... neede to be replaced it scretched all night long, too tired to find were the sound was coming from till in the morning. You can hear the water come on in the other rooms when you have a neighbor taking a shower or bath and it's pretty loud. The parking garage was always completly full so we had to be creative with parking in the garage, a little unsafe. The vallet parking people speed in there. The staff was pretty cool, except when I went to check out and I told the lady in the front desk that the battery needed to be replaced in the detector and that the remotecontroll diden't work either she seemed a little short with me.

Unhappy Customer Dec 1, 2009
The hotel was disgusting, the rooms were filthy and they only had one elevator working. Our comforter on our bed had blood on ... it and the sheet had a burn hole. We were told if we wanted to be moved to the "nicer" north tower that it would cost an additional $10 per night. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to stay somewhere on the new strip.

jason Nov 27, 2009
Room, with 2 queen size comfortable beds, was spacious and clean. Bathroom dark and old. Tv was old, but worked fine. Hot ... water was scalding hot, and difficult to set warm temp. Ice machine gave dirty ice, and so I would not use it except to keep beer cold. Staff was friendly. Casino and other common areas are dark and depressing. Checkout is 11am. I would stay somewhere else, if given the choice next time. Due to low price it all worked out well. Good beds.

The place was dirty and smelly. The sink in our room was filled with crud that looked as though it had backed up during a ... plumbing problem. When I brought this to the attention of the on-duty registration clerk, she said that if we wanted it cleaned, that we'd have to wait until the following day, as they were short on staff.

DO NOT BE AFRAID !! After reading the reviews of this hotel I was very skeptical. I have to be very careful when booking ... rooms as my wife is an ex-hotel employee. (cleaning staff & front desk) Our room was fine. Clean & large. Yes there were some stains & burns & the elevator had problems. If your looking for new & modern, don't stay here. Gosh, this building is 100 years old. It's going to have some problems. But it's how the staff handles the problems is what counts and they did a GREAT job. Very freindly & helpful. The bartenders were even better. I usually stay on the strip. This was my 1st stay downtown & I will do it again. I also had a rental car and parking was not a problem. Suggestion: 5th level, right by the elevator.

The Hotel was not in a bad location and the rooms are good size for the $25 a night I paid. However self-parking was a ... hassle. When checking into the hotel we did not receive any help with the luggage. Our room was cold and the heater did not work. Cold Air and noise was coming in thru the window insulation. The bath tub and sink in our room was dirty. Got stuck in the Elevators, during our two night stay the elevator was broken and guest had to utilize the staff elevators which were in bad condition and the accessing rooms smelled bad.

I was staying at this hotel because it was near where I was playing in a slot tournament. There was only one elevator ... working, which I didn't like, but stayed anyway. I was not interested in the dining options at this hotel and mostly ate elswhere. The rooms were spacious and showed signs of aging. The bathroom was clean, but the carpets needed cleaning. For those hotel staff I had contact with were friendly and helped me with any problems that would arise. I have stayed at this hotel in previous years and I think I should seek another hotel to stay when visiting downtown Las Vegas.

Kat Kelley Nov 4, 2009
When arrived found the room to not be cleaned properly, even found a sunflower seed in the middle of the vanity. When checked ... hotel's website they stated that Wifi was available to hotel guests, I had confirmed this with the front desk when I checked in, only to find out that there was none available. To connect to the internet had to pay for the travellers Wifi which ran $12 for a whole day. My flight came in early (11am) and I went to check in at the hotel, I was told that my room was not ready yet (told to me as if my room had already been chosen) and to come back in an hour. Two hours later upon my return I was told that my room was still not ready. Regular check in was at 3 pm, at this time they asked me whether I wanted a king bed or two queen beds. This leads me to believe that instead of telling me the truth (that they do not take any check-ins till after 3pm) that they lied to me instead. I will not be staying in this hotel again in the future.

Tinoco's Resturaunt located in the hotel was delicious. They have a wonderful staff and great atmosphere. The steak sandwich was absolutely outstanding, the salmon was perfectly cooked, and it was some of the largest shrimp in the shrimp cocktail that I think I have ever seen. I very highly recommend anyone to eat there whether or not they stay at the hotel or gamble in the casino.

If you want to leave the downtown area it's very easy to walk a couple of blocks to the Downtown Transportaion Center.
