Decent place if you just need a room
CECE Oct 27, 2009
This is a decent place to stay if you want a budget room in a great location. We had a room at the Wynn for two nights but ... decided to add on another night to our plans. We decided to stay here as we were going to go to Freemont Street anyway and it was a super cheap room. The room was small but clean and all was in working order. Yes it the furnishings are well worn and dated, but it was a place to sleep and a great location being right at the Freemont St experience. Would stay again for "just a place to sleep"

The rooms were big and clean, they could use a renovation but if you're on a tight budget you won't get it any better than ... this. On the downside the pool isn't great and the staff isn't very nice. The location is good- the hotel is at the beginning of fremont street which has a nice, old school las vegas vibe. The strip is far away though so this isn't a good hotel if thats what you're most interested in. Great restaurant for breakfast downstairs. Generally recomended for travelers on a budget, you get your moneys worth at this hotel.

The hotel overall is pretty nice, not the best there is, but great for the price! the sink whinned when u turned on the ... water, but that was really the only problem we had with the room. its right on fremont so we were able to leave without having to take our car anywhere! and about 5 minutes away from the outlets!

My Stay At The Plaza
Fred Sep 22, 2009
For the price, the Plaza is a great deal for a single guy. Great location for the Fremont party. I also liked the casino & ... all the options for food. However, the room could have been cleaner. The carpet was not well vaccumed & the shower wasn't very clean. Also, the ice maker on my floor was out of order. Not someplace to take your wife or girlfriend, but great for single guys.

Bad Experience
n/a Sep 20, 2009
Upon arrival was told that no nonsmoking rooms were available, told to come back later or upgrade. After about 2 hours later ... I was given my room, the room was terrible. Went back to front desk and had to upgrade (Extra Cost). What an upgrade, I was not to happy. Not enough lighting in room only to small lamps and one of the lamps was out. I requested a bulb for the lamp, it never came. I will never return to this Hotel. Photos are misleading. I stay in hotels 2 to 3 time a week and this was not a happy experience.

World Traveler Sep 17, 2009
This was a hotel with a good location but thats it. The room had stains all over the carpet, the iron was burnt, housekeeper ... was really loud in the hallways, but the worst was the hot water was not working properly. It took about 15 minutes for the hot water to come on in the bathroom and the sink was 2 to 20 minutes before it worked. The staff was not as helpful as they could've been and did little to help the issue. The parking situation was frustrating and I should've just got a cab.

The hotel is older which was fine but wasn't the cleanest. For the first part of the week it was okay except there is no ... microwave in the building and you can only purchase pepsi products but that is tolerable. What wasn't was the fact that the air conditioning went out once around 7 o'clock it took awhile but the engineer came up and fixed it. At 2:30 in the morning I awoke to a popping noise it was the air conditioner. I awoke my husband he turned the unit off and I contacted the front desk. They said they would send someone up. Needless to say we were up past 4 am at first they said there were no other rooms but somehow magically after a couple of hours there was one. Anyway I felt like I was going to be in a fire on the 19th floor. On top of it the only thing the hotel tried to give in compensation was a free breakfast.

We enjoyed site seeing and some gambling during our stay. The room was nice and clean, but needed a coffee pot. The ... hallways and vending areas needed some work. I've stayed in the North Tower at the Plaza in the past and think that is much nicer than the South Tower.

If you plan on "walking the strip" for a day, get an all day pass for the Deuce. The price has gone up to $7.00, but it is well worth it to get on and off the bus as many times as you would like in a 24 hour period. Much less expensive than catching a cab.
