Adequate, but NOT 3 stars
Carol Dec 27, 2009
We last stayed there 12/08 and our room was nice and looked and felt updated. This year our room was dark (4167) and it just ... felt "tired." Had we had time to look at some of the other rooms before choosing to stay in the room given to us...we might have found a nicer, brighter room. The carpet definitely should be replaced and the place painted. The bfast is adequate and I wouldn't give the hotel a 3 star rating especially when you're given flimsy paper plates and plastic utensils to use. We stay here be/c of the location and price, but think we'll search for a different hotel next year. [...]

Real Good Hotel @ Great Price...!!!
Smart Sep 28, 2009
Everything is good about this hotel. It located at nice place. Comes at a very economical price. Free WiFi in your room, good ... room service, nice pool area, free complimentary breakfast. I found my trip very enjoyable, and peaceful. Definitely would be one of my top choice when I come visiting Sunnyvale. CONS: Breakfast closes early. No dining options who wish not to drag out of the hotel.

great location and value
scribe Sep 17, 2009
Two of us stayed one night while attending a workshop nearby. The hotel was chosen based on location and price. We had a very ... nice room with 2 doubles. One guest had left some clothes hanging in the closet. The hotel promptly sent them with no additional charge. We will definitely stay at this hotel again and will recommend it to friends and colleagues. The only negative is that the bedside lighting was connected to a switched outlet controlled by the switch for the entry light. This was inconvenient for reading in bed.

Hotel Stay

The hotel staff was excellent and very friendly. However, the advertised happy hour is no longer available, due to the ... economy. Also, we stayed 4 days and had 4 spiders in our room during that time. But I notified the hotel manager of this after we left, and he was very accomodating and promised an upgrade when we return.

Comfy Beds, Great Location
Cassie Jun 23, 2009
The location was great, sort of tucked away. The bed was comfortable, the rooms are beautiful and the pool was clean. The ... room where breakfast is served is very cramped and unorganized, but the food was ok. I loved the colors in our rooms, very vibrant and awakening. If you like to sleep in, it's a little impossible as their window coverings are not room darkening. Overall, a place I would stay again.

Apart from not being able to sleep...
Geoff Jun 14, 2009
The Wild Palms is an enthusiastic upgrading of an old-style motel structure. The staff were friendly, location was ... convenient, and the pool looked like fun for the children that filled it all day. The problem was with sleeping. The promised "king" was actually no more than a queen, and it was so hard that each of us felt any slight movement by the other. It was warm and a bit stuffy; unfortunately the a/c had only two settings: off, and very noisy. After two nights, we managed to change rooms to one with two double beds. Here the a/c came in handy as a white-noise generator to drown out the chatter of the families on either side of us. Oh, well... the trip was a success, even if we didn't get much sleep.

Staff was great, walls are thin
Travelling with harried pregnant lady May 11, 2009
Staff was extremely helpful. The hotel was interesting, bright and smelled strongly of lemon ginger. Our room was small, ... but not too tight. The office chair had a huge stain on it, but as I used it to put my luggage on, I really didn't care. Fridge didn't seem to be working, but again, it wasn't a huge problem, as we were not planning on using it for more than keeping some water bottles cool. At about 12:30 in the middle of the night we heard our upstairs neighbor come home, stomping around, which woke me up. Then at 7:30 am another neighbor took a shower, which felt like it was right in our room. Breakfast was quick and easy, and again the staff was awesome, extremely helpful. Would stay here again, worth it for the price, but might request a room on the second floor next time.

Something Lacking
Dave May 8, 2009
The room was clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was adequate. However a couple items cast an unfavorable tone to ... our stay. There was no trash can in the room. We made do with the plastic laundry bags. There was no dresser in the room, so we just operated out of our suitcase. The clincher was the fact that the lock on the door did not work. We did not discover this until after we had gone out for dinner. No key was required to open the door, just push on the door and it opened. Fortunately, no one pushed on our door while we were out.

Wild Palms a good choice
led Apr 22, 2009
This was my second stay at this hotel. It is very brightly appointed with an unusual, uplifting decor. There's a Sony tuner ... in each room in addition to the tv and alarm clock. The washrooms are updated and swank. The toiletries are nice too. The printer in the lobby was out of order during my stay but the staff was ready to print whatever was needed. Rooms on the first floor have little soundproofing so you can be an unwitting witness to whatever's going on next door. So I asked for a second floor room which was fine by comparison. Location is great for a Sunnyvale visit. Many conveniences nearby. I like this place and will go there again.
