W HOTEL TIMES SQUARE WOW FACTOR 10
A17ACR Dec 4, 2009
Great hotel everthing about it has a wow factor and very very nice in every way. Nothing too much trouble for staff, even ... upgraded us free to a spectacular room on the 56th floor only 57 floors in hotel, the lift makes your ears pop every time you go in it due to speed it travels.Room had 2 double beds would have chosen a single king size if had choice also you have to ask for tea and coffee facilities and watch out when using wish box in room as items are very expensive $8 for pringles when on news stand oustide $3.50 yet back home they would be $1.50. Bliss bath room products in bathrooms are gorgeous and also there is a free car which is first come first served which takes you free anywhere within 3 miles from the hotel.

the good bad and the ugly...who me????
julieflow Oct 20, 2009
Great location!!! I took this trip to find a convenient place for me to bring my daughter for her 13th birthday! I wanted ... to do a trip before hand because she is in a wheelchair and I always want to be ahead of the game. I think we could do everything she would like within walking distance... well her wheeling: Hershey store and M & M) Jamba Juice right there. The room was small but very trendy and new except the ceiling in the shower looked to be getting moldy...yuck but I guess don't look up. The noise level outside you could hear but part of the hustle and bustle, I think. Now for what I didn't appreciate is that when I went down to the concieige and asked him for a hot spot to go to after the show the newest latest and greatest he told me to be more specific in a condescending tone so I said places you read about in magz he told me 2 go change before hand because I need to step it up a few notches if I want to rub elbows with stars but he could put us on any guest list. I had my true religion jeans on (newest latest and greatest) and very nice top and shinny Guess coat...I thought for a moment I looked pretty hot for my age just turned 40 but look 25! Then BAM in a flash I walked away feeling old and all washed up!!! Seriously, I will never forget that comment!! Every time I walked out of my room I questioned my appearance! But whatever. So yes it is a nice place I think my daughter will think it is so New York!!! But I may look elsewhere on internet because of that comment. But I really didn't see any other places as nice in that area so maybe I will give them another chance because my baby deserves the best for all that she has to go through and she wants the New York experience!! Mamma Mia was GREAT and Rock of Ages!!!

My first visit to the BIG Apple
Mrs. Kay Aug 3, 2009
The hotel was very upscale. The staff was knowledgeable, and polite. The staff had answered all of my questions. I was ... there for my Birthday and the staff recommended a great bakery to purchase a cake. The cake was very, very good. However, that Super Shuttle # 632 was a bad joke. The driver dropped a group of us off at the wrong gate at the Delta Airlines. It was raining there and the driver placed my husband suit cases in a puddle of water. The driver was very rude. I plan to make a complaint to Supper Shuttle. Another bad incident. The Delta Airlines was another bad joke. The plane arrive to the Airport early only to sat on the runway for over an hour. I have asthma and this was not a good experience.

If you decide to do the bus tours, please shop around there are other tour lines other than Greyline and are a lot less expensive. If I had only walked another block I could have saved $50 using the Taxi Bus tours for $25.

I just got back from a wonderful trip! The hotel was amazing! From the waterfall when you walk in, to the very stylish lobby ... that smelled of beautiful flowers. Check-in was very easy and the staff was more than helpful! Our room was very chic! The decor was funky, yet functional. The only negative for the room is that the bathroom was not family friendly. Although it fit with the decor, the walls were made of a frosted glass. It felt as if there was no privacy. When somebody was in the bathroom you could see their silhouette doing their business. It made for an awkward experience. Other than that, everything was wonderful. The restaurant, Blue Fin, was amazing as well!

Great stay, gorgeous hotel!
Stefanie L, Party Planner to the Stars Jun 22, 2009
I needed a room to be the starting and ending point for a bachelorette party, and I could not have picked a better place. The ... rooms were classy, modernm and spacious, perfect for our small party to meet up in the beginning of the night, "pre-game", and for a bunch of us to crash after the festivities. Everything was comfortable, the bathrooms were exquisite, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative was the view. We stayed in a fantastic suite, which was advertised to be on one of the higher floors, but when we checked in, we were told our room was on a lower floor. The window overlooked the side street that the hotel entrance was on, was not facing Broadway directly, but it was still OK. Luckily, the rest of the room made up for it. The hotel bars were funky and awesome, especially The Living Room. The decor was fresh, clean, and ultra modern. I would definitely stay here again, and many of the girls said they would too. It was a great hotel experience.

The Living Room bar is right in the hotel lobby, and is ultra-swank. Drinks are a little pricey, but the novelty of the atmosphere makes up for it. You feel like a celebrity!

New York weekend
Aunt T Jun 22, 2009
Because of flights being cancelled the night of our arrival so came in almost 24 hours late. We were not able to have the ... adjoining rooms as requested because of our late arrival. Staff at check in seemed puzzled about the late arrival but didn't share concerns. At first put us in side by side rooms but one room had only one bed and 3 persons in that room. When going back down to the check in desk were able to reassign a room to us on another floor. Also in 1602 room had very noisy neighbors about 1:30 am in the morning on Saturday evening. They were having a domestic fight and were yelling as loud as could be.

W Hotel NY Times Square
Will Jun 15, 2009
I didn't end up spending very much time in Times Square itself; the next time I vacation in NYC I will probably stay closer ... to where I hang out - closer to downtown. Overall, the place made me feel like I hadn't left Hollywood. So if you're from LA and you want to feel like you're at home, this is the place for you.

Little dissapointed
Tim Nov 30, 2008
There was hair and dust in shower and all over the floors, they forgot to clean our room one day and we had to call twice. ... And there was a bar manager that came up to my partner and myself after ordering a $20 dollar drink and said we would have to get up out of the lounge area unless we order from the lounge waitress and this happened after we waited 15 minutes for a waitress and no one came so we went up to the bar in the same lounge and ordered and sat dowm. He embarrassed my guest and my partner and i did report it with no response. Restaraunt was a good experience and I loved our view. Their key system was also down and they had to have somone go up when we arrived and we had to go to the desk several times to be escorted up because there system was down. i just think for the price that they should have better managers in place and cleaner rooms and hallways. people carried allot of paper etc into the halls after the Thanksgiving Day Parade and it stayed on the floor our whole visit:( very sad. Great concierges though and very helpful. maybe the rest of the staff could learn from them:)

Almost too hip....
Ashleigh Nov 25, 2008
The W Times Square definitely is in the middle of it all. You are able to walk to Radio City, Macy's and much more. There ... is a Starbucks right across the street. This W is better suited for couples or just two people. The rooms are very small. The only mirror is the one in the bathroom and the bathroom has opaque glass walls which is very cool but you should be VERY comfortable with those you are staying with! Great customer service and ultra modern facilities are what you get. What you dont get is the big, grand, spacious lobby feel. My only real disappointment is that they charge you for WI FI. Ask for a room on the upper levels if you want to get any sleep. If ultra hip, hoppin bar scene feel is what you want, then this is a very comfortable place. Not so much for a 14 year olds birthday getaway trip.

Excellent location and atmosphere
Jennifer Sep 20, 2008
We took our children (8 and 5) to the W Times Square for a night and a quick visit to New York. The girls LOVED the hotel. ... For a cool hotel, they were plenty enough family friendly, and we felt very welcome and comfortable. You cannot beat the location or the great atmosphere of the W Hotel entrance, lobby or rooms. Everyone working there was so pleasant and helpful. I would agree that if you don't know your roommate well, the brushed glass bathroom walls that allow for a shadow view of whatever you are doing in the bathroom could be uncomfortable. That is the ONLY downfall I have! Room size and layout is awesome. Great trip, great stay!
