Generally they were cooperative, the rooms were decent for the location and the price, but the front desk could have been ... better. The breakfast room and selections are very poor; it is better to cross the road for an good and decent priced restaurant.

Great proximity shopping and dining options. Golden Key is a good value, but staff failed to follow through on requests for ... service items. Room was clean, but they should go through and remodel rooms.

Hotel was fair not great. Rooms are a little small, dated but reasonable clean. Not a high tier hotel at all. The location ... is fantastic with lots of beautiful new stores and restaurants right next door and a mall a block away.

I booked this hotel because I pretty much only needed a place to freshen up and sleep. I would say that I spent a total of 8 ... hours in my room, and that was 8 hours too many. The room was tiny and when I woke up to take a shower in the morning, there was no hot water. The reception on the t.v. was horrible, only a couple of channels were really visible. Bad experience!

Good value for the price, good location. Excellent Staff! Plenty of parking and it's free. Pretty good basic breakfast. Only ... issue is with smoke smell even though it is a non-smoking room.

I reserved my flight and hotel through cheap tickets. I chose to stay at the Golden Key again because of the location and my ... stay in April 2009 was pleasant. I reserved my flight and room three weeks before my stay in Glendale, CA. I called the day before I was to arrive to confirm that I had a SMOKING room. I was told that I did. I arrived at the Golden Key on August 7, 2009. I was put in room #114. I noticed it was not a SMOKING room and smelled bad. I talked to; I believe his name was [...] and told him it didn't smell right and I asked for and was told I had a SMOKING room. He shrugged his shoulders and said "Oh well." I had to leave. I returned later that day and the room still smelled bad. I told the staff member that the room smelled bad and I was supposed to have a SMOKING room. He immediately got me another room. I do appreciate the speedy change. However, as I found out a few days later, this room on the third floor was NOT a SMOKING room, either. I did not notice it was not a SMOKING room because I only stayed in the room to sleep for a few hours and shower. I found out with a note attached to my door. I was informed that I would be charged an additional $100 for fumigation fees of the room. I was furious. I called down to the front desk. The kid at the desk told me that a SMOKING room was not guaranteed. Well, when a person reserves a SMOKING room and is told that they in fact have a SMOKING room...yes...I believe that should be a confirmation. The manager, [...], would not be there until the next afternoon. Getting the manager's name from the kid was like pulling teeth and that should NEVER be the case when a customer is upset. I know this because I manager two stores and I'm always available to customers and staff when needed, yes, even when I'm on vacation. The kid hung up on me, too. Someone came into my room when I was not there and had the "Do not disturb" in the door card key area. I was livid at that point and did not call back. I waited for [...] to arrive the next day. He was three hours late from when I was told he would arrive and NEVER called me back. I had to contact him. He was an arrogant pompous person and was not willing to listen to anything. [...], I do not know his last name, was the only saving grace of my stay there. He listened. He took time to walk through the room and ultimately did not charge me the additional fee. I was not there enough to cause ANY kind of "damages". The owners should make [...] the manager and fire [...]. Unless I have a free stay at this hotel, I will never stay there again.

The location was great for access to the LA Zoo and the Hollywood Bowl. Can easily catch the shuttles to the Bowl for an ... evening concert. Good restaurants within walking distance and downtown Glendale. Older motel with smaller rooms but they were very clean.

When we arrived we notice no hot water. We call reception and they assured us we would have hot water before midnight. Hot ... water did not arrive until after 8am the next morning. No heat the entire stay. Staff was friendly, but rooms were cold (lower 60s) on what was a cloudy southern California. Staff ignored requests for portable heater.

Great location for the price.

Visiting relatives. Slow draining shower corrected the 2nd day. Breakfast, while included, was limited. Great elevator. Very ... good value for the price.

Loved the area where this motel is located. Very friendly staff. Hot tub was great! Unfortunately the air conditioning in ... the room was not up to par.
