Thanksgiving trip

Stayed while we visited our son in Tempe. Good location time wise to the airport and the room was large and the bed ... comfortable. Our corner room had the dressing drawers inside the small closet making access difficult. Unfortunately, the property is right on the take-off/approach for landing aircraft increasing noise a lot, especially early in the AM

The ASU campus drag is about 2 miles away (Mill Ave). It has a variety of cafes and restaurants as well as nightlife (if that is your interest).

The Tempe Art Center is 2 minutes down Rio Salado which anyone should check out especially around night( great events and architecture). Same road has the Tempe beach park is your a fisher. Mill Ave is Mill ave but its close. If you have a day off check out a game at Chase field. Scottsdale has great food so might as well head up.

Great stop for weary travellers

We arrived in Phoenix after a long exhausting journey and we were too tired to drive the remaining 3 hours home. We made a ... last minute reservation that morning and were able to check in without a problem. The rooms are very clean and quiet. The continental breakfast is fresh and tasty. The only negatives were specific to our room in that the plasma screen had burned in images and the room fridge did not work. Overall our stay was great for two weary travellers.

The Pro's: This place has great location. 2 streets away from the freeway( still quiet though), 5 minutes to downtown tempe, ... 10 minutes away from Chase field and Scottsdale. The continental breakfast is great( cereals, pineapple, cantaloupe, oranges, apples, bagels, toast, juice, and starbucks coffee). They also have internet ready computers with a printer for those not traveling with a laptop.( Huge plus). The service was always helpfull too. The Cons: The room smelt like sewage at random times around the bathroom area, which was unpleasant and the ironing board had some stains on it which after I ironed my shirt imprinted the stains on my shirt. The tipper was that the pool was out of service, although they mentioned that guests could use the next door hotel's pool, but who really wants to do all that work. This place is a solid stay if your not spending your whole time in the hotel. I'd definitely stay here again.

This was my first time at a Hyatt Place, and was quite impressed (as a frequent traveller, this is no small feat). Very ... helpful and courteous staff, impeccable rooms (love the 42" HDTV...even with an HDMI port), very convenient to airport and ASU, free internet a big plus. The only downsides were: airplane noise (which is what you get if you want to be close to the airport), no in-room microwave (there is a fridge). The continental breakfast was a bit lacking. Will definitely stay there again.

The room was really nice. The king size bed was super comfy. The only bad thing was that we had requested a port-a-crib to be ... in our room and it wasn't there. Then we had to wait forever for them to bring one up to us which was horrible because our son got pushed way past his naptime and was super cranky. Other than that, everything else was wonderful.

I enjoyed the stay. The hotel was recently remodeled and looks great. The room was very comfortable. Even the planes flying ... above didn't bother me at all and you could barely hear them. The hotel is conveniently located close to downtown Tempe, Phoenix and Scottsdale, so in 10 min by car you can enjoy great dining and nightlife. If you are in town for a business meeting, you will not regret staying at the Hyatt Place.
