This hotel was beautiful! The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The view was great. The entire staff was very friendly, ... and helpful. We ate at the hotel restaurant for breakfast each day. The wait staff was very courteous and the food was satisfying. We were only there for the weekend, and can not wait to go back. We will definitely stay at this hotel next time we are in town.

Beautiful Hotel & Great Staff!!

This Hotel is Spectacular, very cool and modern. The views from the room and spa are incredible. It is located in the mix of ... all the great shopping and restaurants. The staff were all very attentive. Especially a certain doorman (TJ), who new just as much about the city as the conseiur. The showers, let's just say can be very memorable!! The only down side was it is alittle noisy, because of the glass walls. You can hear all kinds of traffic.

A quick cab ride (about $9.00) can take you to Hallstead St. & Armitage. It has some unique boutiques, not something you are going to see on the Michigan Ave. walk.

Brendan Oct 20, 2009
I was here for a quick night...so I didn't partake in all that was offered (gym, dining). I did visit the roofdeck "Vertigo" ... bar/lounge which was beautiful and chill with half located outside (with heat lamps/fire pits) and half inside. The entire hotel has a very consistent architectural style that has a hip yet modern yet comfortable/elegant vibe that I really enjoy. Bed, tv, even iPod dock were all extremely nice! The whole place is definitely meant for singles and couples though...no friends sharing a place (you can basically see each other showering/going to the bathroom if you so opted as the bathroom is just surrounded in clear glass. But still, very well-done and pleasant time all-around.

Dana hotel and spa is amazing! 100% recommendation for me! A little expensive but it's totally worth it! Right in the center ... of the city, walking distance to great restaurants (Giordano's, tapas bar) and pubs (Zed, Excalibur). The vertigo lounge at the top is unbelievable! Great environment. I tried the food from Aja steak. Expensive but very very good. The rooms are always clean, very well equipped and decorated and the personnel is impeccable. Loved the touch of the ice and the fortune cookies at the pillows at night. I stayed at a confy king which is kinda small but more than enough for 2 people. The glass shower with the view to the TV was amaizing! However, with all the spa gels and creams I felt I missed a tub. Great experience!

Great greeting at the door. Easy checkin. Rooms were clean and well made upon arrival. Helpful front desk even retrieved ... our camera out of our car that we valet parked! Breakfasts were very good every morning. A few drawbacks include very late housekeeping in our rooms (they didn't get made until after 5 pm in the afternoon). Also the street noise heard from the room was a bit loud at night, but it was on the weekend and given how hopping the area was with people and nightlife, it was to be expected. Rooftop bar very cool looking place and free access as a hotel guest was a nice plus.

Dana Hotel and Spa - Most Enjoyable
Steve, pleasantly surprised Oct 15, 2009
boutique hotel, non-institutional, very pleasant experience from check-in to check-out. Great bed and pillows, sleek decor. ... Bathroom was wonderful, especially the walk-in shower. I had a lot of work to do between meetings; the wifi was great and available at no extra charge. Without time for socializing I had room service for all meals. The menu offered a very good selection. Orders were promptly delivered; the food was tasty and hot.

Room service is priced above the restaurant downstairs. Also, good fries come with many room service meals, but they'll gladly substitute a salad.

Mary Oct 14, 2009
The floor to ceiling glass windows was one of a kind. I have never been in a room like this before. I love that I can see ... outside my building and being in the 17th floor is a real perk and interesting. The only cons is I can see through the building next door but the blinds can be closed so its not a real bother. It feels so open and freeing. The bathroom is quite interesting too, considering that the glass wall has a curtain that allows you to see through when somebody is taking a shower. I was by myself so it wasn't really put to use but was fun nevertheless. This hotel is very hip and modern. It is a few blocks to Michigan Street and close to the Metro. I will definitely go back!!

Check the temperature twice/three times before you go. I had to buy a pair of boots as soon as I got there after realizing that the temperature had drop down to 36 degrees as oppose to 50 degrees as mentioned in the internet. It was freezing cold for October compared to 80 degrees last year as told by the locals.

I was in Chicago to participate in the Chicago Marathon and needed a peaceful, relaxing place to stay that was in the center ... of things and accessible to trains, restaurants and the race site. Dana was perfect. On race morning, the hotel was even kind enough to have bottled water, bananas, bagels and coffee out for runners - and they weren't even one of the host hotels! They were simply kind. Check-in was a snap and took about 90 seconds. The concierge was ultra-helpful with restaurant suggestions. The room was fantastic with a great view and a very comfy bed. I couldn't have been happier unless I could have stayed longer.

The Dana Hotel and Spa was perfect for our long weekend vacation in Chicago. The location was very convenient to everything, ... and the hotel was a fantastic place to be. We really enjoyed having the Bowers & Wilkins iPod speaker system in the room so we could chill to our own music. We also took advantage of the spa and really enjoyed the services they provided. Everything about the hotel was perfect for us...we'll definitely go back!

We went to two memorable places to eat in Chicago. The first was a champagne bar called Pops for Champagne, and it's only two blocks south of the Dana Hotel on State Street. We had a few glasses of different champagne and some appetizers which were very good. We then walked about 6 or 7 blocks from Pops to Sushi Samba on Wells Street, which had excellent sushi. Try their special rolls...fantastic!!

Very comfortable and clean rooms. Rooms are very modern and full of amenities. Staff is very friendly. We stayed on the 21st ... floor and we were still able to hear noises from the top floor bar above the 25th floor. We do not recommend ordering room service after midnite. The double-decker bus tour is excellent. We learned so much about Chicago and were able to get on and off at all the stops to see the attractions near that location. It will take you all around the city for only $30 each which is cheap compared to taxi fares. We also loved the architectural boat tour which was well woth the money. We bought the three day chicago go cards which were a mistake as it did not really give us our moneys worth because it took too long at each exhibit to see everything in 3 days. I would recommend the chicago pass instead as it does not have a time limit.

Check out the GO Chicago card to automatically receive your discounted admission to many interesting tours and points of interest (without waiting in line with everyone else). Just make sure you use it as much as possible to get the full value.
--Passionate Traveler, Austin, TX Aug 25, 2009
The Untouchable Tour was the best part of the Chicago experience. The guides were informative and funny. We learned about a number of gangsters and terminology that originated with the gangster, e.g. bootlegging. It was reasonably priced and very entertaining. Well worth two hours to explore the city. One bit of advice: go early because the bus gets extremely warm after the 11 am tour.
--Travelista, NYC Aug 19, 2009
Hotel was in the middle of everything, but didn't seem so when inside.
--Bill, dc Aug 3, 2009
The sightseeing bus advertises that it takes 1 1/2 hours but it took 3 hours the Sat we went. It gave us an overview of the city but it is more efficient to take a city bus once you decide which sights you'd like to see. Chicago was a beautiful city with many things to see for adults and children. The city is clean but we rarely saw police. Just about every place we went the people were helpful and friendly. We used the airport shuttle to get to and from the airport. It was fine when arriving at the airport but we were very anxious waiting to return to the airport. Next time we will take a cab back to the airport since we'll have more control over the time we leave. Unfortunately it will be more costly both ways.
--Debster, Lake George, New York Jul 29, 2009
If you plan on trying any of the famous pizzerias.. Gino's or Giordano's...be prepared for a really long wait... 1.5 hours of so for the evening. We did lunch, and were seated right away. Also - on the way out of the city - stop by Superdawgs on Milwaukee and Devon. The Superdawg (DO NOT Call it a hot dog..) is served with fries and standard dress of onions, relish, pickle, peppers, mustard and what I believe is a tomatillo .. looked like a green tomato but tasted like a pickle.. delish I might add. The only time I have seen a drive-in eatery that had to direct traffic in and out of the parking lot.. CRAZY!! But an experience we all enjoyed.
