We went during a slow time of year - pretty much had the pool to ourselves - Tiki Bar was great. The beach was immaculate. ... The hotel provides umbrellas and chairs on the beach for free - we really did not want to leave - and will be back.

Destin is just down the road and has tons of things to do. Highly recommend the Dolphin Cruise and the Donut Hole Cafe in Destin.

We were celebrating our winter wedding anniversary in August. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree for 4 days. The hotel was ... average, staff friendly but the service was sub-par. We had a poolside view but were tucked behind the pool pumps so we listened to the drone of pool pumps round the clock. The air conditioning unit in our room drowned out the sound of the pumps but that along with the noise of people & children in the pool made it quite noisy. Thankfully, the pool closes at 9 PM except for the few who ignored pool rules. Both pools and the beach were gorgeous; white sand & emerald green water, 2 beach chairs & an umbrella set up for each room daily. Drinks at the Tiki Bar are $7.50 each. Hotel has free parking & unlimited movie rentals (1 at a time). The hotel is "environmentally friendly" so to use less energy housekeeping does not change bed linens or exchange towels but every 3 days unless you call to request. We believe the hotel takes advantage of this, we finally had to request clean towels & coffee on our last night. Not one person from housekeeping came in to clean, make the bed, refill soaps, or coffee etc the entire time we were there. The restaurant in the hotel was good but pricey. We went out mostly to save money & get more variety. Most eating & entertainment places were a 2-10 mile drive; car is needed. We loved Destin, FL; day & night on the Boardwalk was fun; the fireworks display on Thursday night was great; Harry T's has great food & provided a vantage point for the fireworks over the bay at dark. We recommend going on the dolphin cruises and to the Gulfarium. We also recommend the dinner cruise on Choctawachee Bay; Loved it! When we return, we will stay in Destin, FL.

It took a long time to check in as there computer system was running slow. The staff is friendly. Our room was beachfront ... with a beautiful view of sand and ocean. Two pools are clean and nice. Beach service was good, beach chairs and shades are nice. The rooms need remodeling and updated furniture.

When my husband and I showed up to check in there was a problem. The girl at the counter was very nice and helped us get into ... our room and solve the problem. The hotel itself was fabulous. The room was wonderful. The view we had was priceless. At night we sat on the balcony for hours and just listened to the waves hit the shore. The restaurant was a little pricey, but great! Overall, a fabulous weekend!

The Holiday Inn, Sunspree Resort, at Ft. Walton Beach, was very very nice and comfortable. The staff was also very friendly ... and catered to our needs. The View was breath taking. Everything we wanted. The dining room The Crab Island Cafe was a very good place to eat and relax. The staff was always helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet and supper meals were of exceptionaly good quality and reasonable. Two great pools and hot tub. Iwill stay there again, and recommend it to others.

Most everything you might want to do, dinning, shopping malls, entertainment, sight seeing is all with in a few blocks to 40 miles.

We stayed three nights at the HI Sunspree in ft. Walton Beach, FL. It was a great 3 days. The water was clear and beautiful. ... The staff at the hotel was very attentive and welcoming upon arrival and all during the stay. I upgraded to a suite from the standard 2 queen bed. It had a pull out couch and was nice with a fullkitchen available.We had gulf view and were completely satisfied. They had only one elevator for 7 floors---and it was slow at times---but not a real problem. Our only complaint would have been that they didnot offer a complimentary Breakfast,all though they DID have a dining room facility. They did offer beach service, included with the room reservation. I think that was a trade off from the breakfast offer. Parking was good. Beach was clean and free from noise and jet ski smell and so on. We would definitely go there again.
