Excellent room and restaurant
VolunteerTraveler Dec 6, 2009
I stayed only one night, but the room was clean and comfortable, and check-in, complimentary internet service, and check-out ... all were easy and fast. I had three visitors join me in the restaurant for drinks, breakfast, and coffee. The menu and service were good, and the guests had no trouble finding parking in the attached public garage.

Quiet and Quaint
Campy Sep 3, 2009
Our weather was not very good, however, the hotel was located right in the heart of some very nice restaurants and shopping ... areas. We went to see a show at the Agganis Arena in Boston University as the hotel was no more than a fifteen minute car ride from B.U., M.I.T. and Harvard University. It was an overall positive experience.

What's not to like?

For business trips to Cambridge, MA, this is the ideal hotel. It is reasonably priced, rooms are nicely appointed, the ... internet works well, and location, location, location. It is walking distance to many key businesses. Their is a great coffee place three doors down, a market next door, and the Asgard is a great bar.

Check-in could have been smoother
bikerider57 Jul 26, 2009
I arrived at about 2:40 pm and the front desk clerk said, "Guaranteed check-in time is 3 pm - we're still turning over ... rooms". I checked my luggage and went for a walk around the neighborhood; returned about an hour later. I waited at the front desk for several minutes while the clerk called housekeeping trying to locate a room that was ready. Finally received a key card and went up to my floor to discover a housekeeping cart blocking the door to my room - the maid was still finishing up. Eventually she let me in but still had to take care of little details like replacing something on the minibar. After she left and closed the door, a minute later she knocked and let herself in with her key to come in and punch a code on the phone (I assume indicating she was done with the room). The room had nice contemporary decor; big flat screen TV, big bed with nice linens and big fluffy pillows. I loved the chaise lounge in the corner. The room did have a very slight smell of smoke even though the hotel is completely non-smoking. I liked the location (near Central Square and a subway stop) and there is a supermarket right next door to the htoel, which was convenient to pick up a few snacks. I thought the breakfast buffet was quite good (wonderful fresh fruit including pineapple and beautiful blackberries) and a good value.

From the moment the valet took off with my car, to the helpful and frienly staff, this was the best hotel stay we've ever ... had. The room was clean and the bed was more comfortable then the one we left at home. It was a wonderful stay.

great service and location, comfortable

The hotel is very comfortable, modern and stylist. The staff was excellent! We checked in early and a school group checked ... into the rooms around us. We asked to be moved because the kids were so noisy and it was no trouble at all. The restaurant is very good too. You cannot beat the location, we were very close to everything in Cambridge and enjoyed a nice wall to Harvard Sq.

Overall our stay was very pleasant. We did have an issue with an incorrect mini-bar charge on our bill and when we went to ... discuss it with the front desk staff the clerk had a limited grasp of English but eventually the charges were removed with the help of another staff member.
