My Stay at Orange Tree
SV Dec 2, 2009
Well I called before booking as comparing the local hotels- not only did they tell me they had 2 restaurants and a bar but ... that they also had live local music Friday and Saturday nights-- When I arrived 2 weeksd later they closed all the restaurants and did not have options! Although the Nascar, Greenbuild, and festavals, 2 weddings, were in town, the place was pretty empty at the pool. The actual rooms are very nice and roomy,Great size and overlooking golf course but I would have stayed at another place for the money just to have the convience of restaurants and events at the same location...

Just park and walk around old town- do not need to get on the trolley 1st thing...You miss alot.Found alot of great deals but all the stores say closing- misleading- they are just having sales!

Unbeatable location for the price.
Dream Getaway Sep 13, 2009
Had a great stay at the resort. Can't beat the location for the price! The only thing that would make it better is to add a ... higher wattage bulb in the bathroom for applying makeup; and also providing a plastic throw-away shower cap for those who don't want to wash their hair every day. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this resort to my friends.
Traveler type: Friends
Also ask the concierge for the 3-mile walking map around the outside perameter of the resort. Great path to walk in the early morning or after dinner in the evening.

Great place to recover after surgery
Just Me Aug 8, 2009
I went to Phoenix to stay with my son during his surgery, he stayed with me at the hotel for a few days to recoup. I loved ... how he was able to sleep on the bed and i was able to close the doors and watch TV in the living area. The kitchenette has a microwave, fridge, sink and plenty of dishes and utensils. The rooms are very large,, I didn't feel like I was cooped up at all. Now for the downs... ooohhh yucky on the living room furniture. It looks like it is from the 60's. I almost didn't want to sit on the furniture, because it looked dirty. The wall paper in places looks as though it is barely hanging in there. I think it could use a little maintenance work.. other than that I really didn't mind the place.. I would recommend this place for families, cuz they had a schedule of events everyday to have some fun.

Surprisingly comfortable and friendly
Karen Jul 19, 2009
Small and comfortable resort hotel, great individual condo style units. Friendly staff, loved the jacuzzi tubs & how they fold ... every towel into a swan! It was a few days to relax by a pool and play golf. The course is great for couples. Close to great shopping and restaurants - off the main Scottsdale strip, but an easy drive. Great for the price!

Our trip
jess Jul 16, 2009
Our stay overall was great. The only exceptions were very limited parking and depending on what unit you were in, it was a ... very long distance to walk to and from parking, pool, restaruants, etc. Are only other minor complaints was we were on the second floor and we had NO shade at anytime during the day until the sun went down and the bar was only open until 12am.m. The rooms were large, spotless, and very comfortable.

The H*rny Toad had wopnderful BBQ chicken and ribs and was only 20min. away in Cave Creek. Lots of small neat shops around this old town!!!

Orange Tree Review
Cowboy Joe Jul 8, 2009
The rooms were beautiful. The only downside was that the bar at the pool was closed the entire time we were there. If you ... ordered a drink it basically went through room service via a phone a the pool. This made drinks cost about twice what they should be.The also added on a tip automatically. It looks like they normally offer towel service at the pool but it was also closed.

Ther are plenty of places to eat a short drive from the hotel.

Spacious, comfortable beds
traveling shoewhore May 18, 2009
Orange Tree Golf Resort is a large resort with well maintained grounds. We did not partake in any golfing activities here so ... we cannot comment on the course. The weekend that we checked in, we learned that there were 3 weddings planned for that weekend. Perhaps this is why the front desk person did not offer us whether we wanted a renovated room. We inadvertently overheard the timeshare people informing their audience that about 2/3 of the rooms have been renovated and that 1/3 of the rooms are still undergoing renovations (the ones near the pool). We unfortunately got one of the un-renovated rooms, but it was still pretty nice, but you can see the room was more worn, with some cracks in the bathroom walls and some wall paper falling down. So ask for the renovated rooms! Otherwise, the place was good. Very spacious rooms with a separate sleeping area with Tempurpedic beds. The bathroom is also huge with a separate large shower and large tub. We also really liked the pool, which had a section for lap swimmers.

Orange Tree Golf Resort
Frances Mar 3, 2009
The staff are all very friendly, the location is central, close to shopping, grocery stores and specialty food stores (Trader ... Joe's, Whole Foods, Sprouts) and restaurants. The Pro's shop is excellent. At check in ask for one of the refurbished rooms. You'll be glad you did! We will definitely return.

On Friday and Saturday evenings the music and dancing in the lobby bar is absolutely marvellous. There is a cover charge unless you have dinner in the restaurant; then it's free. It is very popular with the locals for good reason. Not to be missed.

Excellent Value, some quirks
Eileen Dec 25, 2008
The Orange Tree Resort was an excellent value for the money. The room was very clean and contained a living room, small ... kitchenette and separate bedroom. There were a number of small things that could be changed to make this an excellent set up -- for example, there were not enough chairs in the room, no end table on one end of the l shaped couch. There was no where to hang up your coat when you came into the room although there was a small entry foyer that would have accommodated both a small closet and a small entry table. There were two flat screen TV's, one in the Living Room, one in the bedroom, however the bedroom tv was so small and hung from a corner of the wall -- it was difficult to see or to read channels. Major issue was that the walk from the parking lot to the room was 2/10th of a mile. This prevented our going back to the room often, even though there are golf carts available if you want a ride. Beautiful grounds, whirlpool in the room. I would definitely stay there again but would request a room much closer to the parking area, and on the golf course rather than on the road side of the complex.
