Great Vacation
Doug and Cathy Feb 6, 2010
My husband and I loved staying at the Holiday Inn in Fort Myers, the location is the best on the island, rooms were very ... clean. The one thing that I would have to complain about the rooms is the curtains, very thin and no privacy, you can not get dressed in your own room without everyone walking by and seeing you. Also the music at night is very loud, it didn't stop us from sleeping but I can see why others complain. Loved the pool. Did not stay a whole lot at the beach but did not have any complaints. We were in Fort Myers for 4 nights and ate at The Fish House 3 times, they have the best food in the area! Go to Reece's for breakfast, we ate breakfast one time at the Holiday Inn and it wasn't very good. We will definitely be back.

The view of the ocean was great. Having Pinchers Tiki bar right next to the pool and the room caused a bit of concern when we ... checked in but those concerns were quickly removed when the music was turned down at 9 P.M. We could not hear anything from outside after 9 P.M. The restaurant serves good food at great prices with exceptional service. Having sliding doors to open the restaurant to the outside when the weather is nice adds to the ambiance. We met other travelers on the way back that had stayed elsewhere and listened to their complaints of loud music and poor service. We shared our great experience and encouraged them to try this location on their next trip as we will. We will be back!!

Kick you shoes off and dance in the soft sand on the beach near the Tiki bar. After the band stops go for a late night swim! Great seafood and five star rated restaurants are within walking distance across the street.

Not So Great
Julie Jan 18, 2010
It was not worth the price. I thought we were going to a luxurious facility, but it was just an uncarpeted room with a ... small, outdated bathroom. It was like being in army barracks. The walls were thin - no way could anyone sleep in. Pincher's Restaurant - had a horrible waitress who could have cared less about providing us with good service. And the food was not very good either. The best thing about this place is that it is on the beach. And I must add the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

A Great Escape
Stacy Dec 20, 2009
I stayed at this hotel for a week and enjoyed every second spent there. The room was extremely clean and was kept tidy and ... fully loaded with towels daily. Employees were amazingly helpful with anything I asked, you couldn't ask for better service. The location is perfect if what your looking for is some peace and quiet. Its placed away from the "downtown" area so you have no unwanted noise or drama near you. Pinchers restaurant is connected with Holiday Inn, if you're stay with them is during the weekend you'll catch some live music on stage. Plus a great Tiki Bar is directly center in the back. The fact that the beach was right there in your grasp was awesome, it was the total highlight of my trip. The sunsets a BEAUTIFUL! (watch out for the diving birds!) I came across a family of five, flipper'd dolphins too. Amazing experience.

Its a drive down Estero Blvd. not passed the bridge and just before the pier. Enjoy all the crazy little stores located in town. My favorite was Shipwreck, a lot of cool pirate keepsies. If you're looking for a good restaurant, Hani Kai is a hip spot and the Beached Whale has amazing fish. (Check them out!)

hotel room had nice size refrigerator, but could have used microwave, other than that everything great!! the location could ... not be any better!!! it was probably the shortest walk to the beach of any hotel on the beach. the room COULD use updating, but really, then they would probably raise the rates. beach activities (waverunner/dolphin tours/parasailing/) located directly in front of this hotel on the beach. Pinchers restaurant in hote, Tiki bar in courtyard, pool. didnt check out the breakfast but it looked to be good. only reason not going to give it 5 stars is because it was not the upscale ritzy room decor, but hey! oh yeah, employees were great!

I felt like I went back in time. Rooms very small - bathroom non existent - if you get a room by the pool and bar very ... noisy. Exterior is in need of repair. It was right on the beach which was a plus - television channels were not great - e.g. could not watch the U.S. Open in our room though it was on in the bar. Bar extremely noisey - definitely a "pick up" place.

Family traveler Aug 7, 2009
The hotel was clean, friendly, and quiet. The dining room was expensive and not alot of variety (only used it once for ... breakfast). The poolside bar was very expensive and just average on drinks and food (stayed just for the view). The beach was great but bring your own chair and umbrella (also very expensive to rent daily).

Came back to our room and it was broke again. so they gave us a buy one get one free drink at the tiki bar. tiki bar was nice! Far from downtown. But it was right on the beach. this was booked as a wedding gift to my daughter and son in law for their honeymoon. they contacted me when they arrived and ... were very upset because they were told the room would be upgraded to an oceanside upon booking and when they arrived there weren't any oceanside rooms available. there was a large refrigerator in the room but NO microwave. Although I personally called the hotel the week before to make arrangements for some extra special treatment for the newlyweds, and was more than willing to pay for it, the desk clerk, [...], told me he would pass the message on to the manager, and if there were any questions he would have her contact me. I was NEVER contacted so was under the assumption that they would be treated well when they arrived. I found out that they were COMPLETELY IGNORED the entire 3 days they were there. the hotel claimed they couldn't do anything for them food, dinner wise because the restaurant was separate. Again, they aren't capable of "communicating" to each other I guess. the hotel manager's answer to me on the morning they were to check out was, "what more do you want, they had a clean room didn't they?" Even the bar couldn't offer a drink to them on the house in congrats. VERY disappointing all around. When I tried to call 5 different times, I was put on hold by [...] for 3-5 minutes every time, I hung up. the 5th time I called she told me she was busy, and the only one there and i'd have to call back in 30 minutes, then hung up. DO NOT stay at this place. They make you feel you are not important to them. There are many other places you could stay where you will be appreciated.
