Not so clean. Where's the improvements?
Jeanne Aug 24, 2009
Well it's cheap and will do for a night or so but it's nothing fancy or too clean. Our shower was gross - rusted out and ... bathroom floor was dirty. Bed and pillows were worn out. Location is good though.

We enjoyed our stay very much at the Vintage. All the staff was friendly. We liked the free cabriolet that takes you to the ... Winter Park resort that had shops, dining, and the Alpine Slide. I also liked having a kitchenette so we didn't have to eat out all the time. The hotel restaurant was only open on the weekend.

Lots of bang for your buck
Outdoor grandma Aug 13, 2009
Just steps from the hotel entrance, a free gondolla takes you to the Village where you'll find lots of interactive outdoor ... activities (mini golf, climbing wall, human maze, bungee jumping, and of course the alpine slide). Plus shops and restaurants. Absolutely great family vacation. Hotels in Village cost close to double the Vintage. Very nice staff. Pool is not huge, but very adequate. Jacuzzi is largest I've ever seen. We had a studio with kitchenette, murphy bed and sleeper sofa. You're trading the discomfort of murphy bed for the kitchenette. Mini refrigerator has very little freezer space. Otherwise, very comfortable and quiet. I highly recommend the Vintage Hotel for a pleasant experience at very reasonable price.

Great casual atmosphere
Tri-Guy May 11, 2009
May was between seasons, so the staff was minimal and the occupancy was very light, but in a pleasantly informal and friendly ... manner, the staff all did their best to help with anything we needed. Physically, the place looked a little worn, but it was all kept pretty clean and everything actually worked. The fitness center had short hours, but they opened it early for me on request, and though I've never seen a treadmill that measures speed and distance in kilometers, it did work just fine. The room was attractive (spiral stair to a loft), but the mattresses were just beat, probably the only thing that really needed to be replaced. Heating and gas fireplace worked well, as did plumbing. I had to use a chair to get to the microwave way up above the countertop, and I'm 5'9". Great views of the mounatains.

Good for the Money
Brian Jun 15, 2008
This was our first stay here at the Vintage and its name says it all, it is a Vintage Hotel, as in dated. The carpets are ... loose, pulled, looking old and faded. The hotel needs some TLC, the window sills were falling off, the gutters crushed, the balcony handrail tops were falling off, the pool temp was in the 70's, and minor things like that. The restaurant was was closed for the seasons and that was a bummer as we had to drive into town for food. The room itself was good. We had a two story with a circular stair and a pull out sofa. The fridge, micro, TV all worked, that is a plus. So all in all it was a good weekend, but they need to put some $$$ into the hotel before they lose business to all the new places up and running or are in the process of being completed.

Not a good choice!
Julia Aug 1, 2007
The Vintage Hotel is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The room that I stayed in had no a/c, it was ... uncomfortably hot in the room. The furniture was old and worn and the bathroom had mold on the tiles. I found out from a local that this hotel used to house the ski resort employees...not worth the money at all. On the other hand, the hotel employee was very nice and friendly and did her best to make the best of the situation.

we were dissapointed only in the fact that the gym did not open until 830 am. We had hoped to use the gym prior to getting ... other activities,ie outdoor adventures and site seeing started. Great ski destination
JAMES Jul 20, 2007
Although our stay was short, it was enjoyable. Previous to our stay in Winterpark, we stayed at a cottage in Estes Park. ... The weather in Estes was much nicer than Winter Park. Perhaps due to the elevation. There really isn't much to do in Winter Park in July. I believe the hotel is geared towards the skier. There are plenty of runs nearby. Parking lot was all gravel which made it difficult on a motorcycle. Hotel is pet friendly and the heated pool was nice.

Summer trip - we stayed in the room with a spiral staircase to the loft, kitchenette and fireplace - the fireplace was real ... and we got in too late and didn't feel like bothering the front desk people to start it for us, - would have liked it better if it were propane or something we could do ourselves. Decor wasn't fancy or very homey, but the view of the mountains from our balcony on the 5th floor was wonderful. Great place for families or couples. We played pool in their gameroom, the swimming pool was warm and comfortable, the exercise room wasn't anything great, but it had the basics and two people could workout at the same time. The room was clean and kitchenette handy if we had stayed longer - would love to bring our kids next time, I am sure they would enjoy it. The free shuttle took us right into Winter Park and ran frequently so we never had to wait. Front Desk staff weren't real helpful when it came to getting information about what to do in Winter Park (they did have a lot of brochures to look at though) and they did recommend places to eat.
Traveler type: Couples
use the shuttle to get to Winter Park and take the hike to the Sunspot restaurant. About 1 1/2 hours and up about 1000 feet in only 1 1/2 miles, but a nice hike and breathtaking views. Or you could take the gondola and enjoy the views while relaxing.
